T.A.C. Ceramic Tile Co

We are in the beginning stages of a kitchen and bath remodel. We went by TAC Tile without an appointment just wanting to browse the showroom. I read in the other review on Unilocal that they worked from appointments but they weren’t mandatory. That seems to be incorrect. We were greeted at the door and informed that without an appointment we could not come in and look around. I cannot comment on TAC’s level of service because I didn’t get to experience it (I have heard good things about them) but I wanted to post my experience so that others wouldn’t wouldn’t drive there and be turned away. Make sure to plan in advance and call first. And NO Browsing.

My first impression of this tile company was not in their showroom, but rather the lovely abyss that is 495 North. I am not sure what T.A.C stands for, but it should stand for To Act Carelessly (especially while driving). I was driving to Tysons Corner in the busy traffic, and there was a large space big enough for my car to fit into. However, the driver of the T.A.C. vehicle sped up and cut the space between us. He then refused to allow me to merge in, which I did have the right away. Tiling is a very precise job, and if you’re not careful when driving I can’t expect you to be careful when doing your «job.» My advice, find ANYONE else to lay tile.

I’ve been into T.A.C. Ceramic Tile Co. a couple of times now to talk to them about tile samples for my kitchen backsplash and to get ideas.
They have this cool showroom — they encourage you to schedule an appointment, but it’s not mandatory. I walked in the first day and ended up spending some time with Wendy — she discussed what I was looking for and showed me some tiles I might like, as well as Listello.
I’m currently waiting on some tile samples that she has ordered for me to bring home and compare to the colors in my kitchen.
Definitely worth checking out if you have a bathroom or kitchen tile project in your future!
