Confections Cupcakery

I have been wanting to try this place out for months now and I finally did! First off its small and really cute inside, and they have so many different flavors as well, however they are a little too sweet, but still pretty good.

I come here every time I get my hair cut, I have loved every cupcake I have gotten. The staff is also ALWAYS super friendly and willing to make suggestions as to what they think you would like based of of your cravings that day :)

So good! Saved the day after a super yucky experience at the pizza place next to them!

Came w/​2 coworkers around 12:30pm and it was empty besides the owner behind the counter. The set-​up and decoration was cute, chic, and clean. The 3 Cs. She was friendly and educated us on the business since we were first timers. She told us what was in each cupcake, I was slightly rude because I wanted to snap pics for Unilocal,so I was wandering around the shop looking at everything. They had every flavor imaginable, just look at the site, you’ll see. I opted for the maple bacon w/​a cream cheese icing and bacon sprinkled on top and baked into the cupcake. Umh! –drool– the cupcake wasn’t overly sweet or the icing. I can’t stand too sweet stuff. The cupcake was moist and delicious. I heated mine up a little and of course the icing fell off but I like warm desserts. My coworker schooled me and cut the cupcake bottom off, placed the bottom on top, and made a cupcake sandwich… imagine an Orea, that’s what her cupcake looked like (insert heart eyes emoji here).
–they stamp a card for each visit, then u eventually get 4 free cupcakes
–Sundays they have HH & u get each cupcake for $ 1, max 6. This helps keep cupcakes fresh because they’re closed on Mondays.

The cupcakes here weren’t as good as I was hoping it would be. With all the positive reviews, I was hoping that this cupcakery would be as good as Georgetown cupcakes but I think my expectations were a little bit too high. I ordered the red velvet cupcake while my husband ordered the peanut butter cup. My red velvet cake didn’t really look red like normal red velvet does. It kind of looked reddish brown making it look more like a light chocolate cupcake. When I tasted it, it was a bit dry, sweet, and definitely didn’t taste like red velvet. The cream cheese on top wasn’t as soft as I was hoping it would be too. The peanut butter cup was also dry and a little too sweet for my taste. The employees were super friendly though and they let us take our time ordering as we were debating on which flavors to get. But I think I’m just going to stick with going to DC for some Georgetown cupcakes or Sprinkles.

This place is amazing! Yes, the introduction of these yummy treats came via Specialious! Not only a discount, but also a great way to introduce me to a place worth traveling to… yes, it’s in Manassas and I live in Burke!
They are located in a large shopping strip mall next to the Harris Teeter, off Davis Ford Road. Parking is easy, there’s a Starbucks across the way, but they also sell coffee here.
There’s over 15 varieties of fresh cupcakes, Whoopie Pies, and Cake Pops. They also sell cookies and other goodies. It was overwhelming and although I was on my lunch break, I seriously wanted to gaze and dream about which cupcake I would consume while driving home.
I picked up a dozen, one of each flavor and didn’t even buy all they had to offer. So far, I have tasted the Strawberry and Peach, and ‘ya’ll, they are magnificent’, both were fresh, the frosting was so flavorful, and the topping was divine. I will certainly go through the remaining of the dozen, while we’re visiting with family.
They have a great FB page, and on Sundays, they have HH on their cupcakes, starting at 5pm, their cupcakes at $ 1 each!
