My waitress Bianca was the best waitress ever!!. She is nice, always had a positive attitude, and all of the above. If you come here get the bean soup and my dad says it is the best margarita she Makes it GREAT!!! If you were in Mammoth and just driving by any something to eat I suggest strongly you should come here Ava 10 years old-I had a good time coming to this restaurant and had very good food and quality plus good dessert

Guacomole tasted like they bought guac dip in a can at the grocery store! What mexican restaurant doesnt make their own guac? Waited 45 mins to get a seat on top of it. This is typical for mammoth. Poor service everywhere.

We were staying down the street at M Inn, so it was a super easy walk to dinner the other night. It’s like 0.2 miles or something. Anyways, I saw the good reviews and we decided to grab dinner here. We ordered: — spicy mango margaritas(they had a good spicy kick to it and were delicious!) — taco salad with chicken(I did not like it that much) — lobster taquitos(these were actually really good! On the app menu, I think they were around $ 10.99) — tamale(spicy!) — soup of the day Pretty decent Mexican food for the area! I was surprised! I ordered the taco salad, and I wish I ordered something else, but besides that the margaritas were yummy, and the food was good.

If you’re looking for the best Mexican food in Mammoth, you can stop now. Went to The Loco Frijole last year when I was in Mammoth and was pleasantly surprised with the service and food quality. Came back this year with my family and they didn’t disappoint. Easy to find, plenty of seats and generous with the chips and salsa(which is on the spicier side). The mole is awesome and rivals the mole offered by a number of restaurants in LA! My sisters had the carne asada plate and carne asada tacos. Plenty of food in each serving and the tortillas are freshly made. I looked around to see what everyone else was ordering and in case you were wondering, their burritos are humongous. If I had a bigger appetite, I would have definitely gotten one of those. Won’t hesitate to go back there again the next time I’m up in Mammoth. Strongly suggest eating here if you have a hankering for Mexican food and don’t want to pay through the nose for bland food at one of the ski lodges.

Omg I really don’t understand how this pace has such high reviews because it is terrible. First of all the margaritas used mixer I have seen at Albertsons. Was not even home made. It took forever to get our drinks and we were not asked if we wanted our margs on the rock or blended. Or if we wanted salt or not salt. Our food wasn’t too bad but half of our food was hot half was cold. Me and my sis shared a burrito and i found 2 hairs in it. We sent it back and they did not even offer to take it off the bill. Also it was freezing inside it was 13 degrees outside and when we asked them to turn up the heat they said that’s as much as they can do. My family’s bill was $ 245 and God do I wish we spent our night somewhere else. What a wast of money and a terrible dining experience.

This place keeps getting better! I’m sure they’ve figured out the business side of things by now, the service seems very good. Wait staff is super quick and attentive, food is brought out very fast. There was chips, water, and a beer in front of me in less than five minutes of being seated. The food is good. Very standard, classic Mexican restaurant experience. Good Carne asada and Chicken. I usually pick up a burrito, but the fajitas are awesome, and DEFINITELY try the Molcajete if you’ve never had it! Toss in a margarita or cerveza to round it off My only complaint is that the experience does still vary a little bit. I’ve had great experiences and some less than awesome ones. It’s getting a little more consistent, but not enough that I know what kind of experience to expect each time.

We dropped by on a visit to Mammoth and were not disappointed. Our family of 4 tried their chicken quesadillas, lobster taquitos, grilled chicken taco salad, and chicken fajitas. As others have noted, they brought out salsa and chips right away which were delicious. Service was a little slow, but there was only one woman working as a waitress/cashier/hostess(and working clearly very hard), so that was understandable. She still made the effort to check-in our table multiple times throughout our lunch. Our food was very good — not the most amazing Mexican food we’ve ever had(disclaimer: we are from LA), but very good nonetheless. The lobster taquitos were everyone’s favorite as they were bursting with flavor and lots of lobster meat. We’d gladly be back for some more if we’re ever in the area!

July 9, 2015 Neglected to review my recent visit at the restaurant. Perhaps it was due to my disappointment. Of course, everyone has his good days and bad days and the chef was definitely having a baad day or maybe he wasn’t even there! My very favorite bean soup made a 180 degree turn. An ingredient was definitely missing and it appeared as if pico de gallo salsa was added to it and it did not do it justice. If a restaurant says it serves menudo on weekends(Saturdays and Sundays), do not order it on Friday. The sign said menudo on weekends and I inquired if it included this day, Friday. After a check with the«kitchen», I was told it was ready. It was not the hearty broth I’m accustomed to and with little flavor. I will return for another food adventure here some day. So many different dishes, so little time.

OBSESSED. I went here twice in three days. So good. The chunky guacamole is a must-order. I had the cheese & jalepeno tamale, a cheese enchilada, and a bean and cheese burrito. All were delish. The best value was the bean and cheese burrito, at $ 5.99 and about as big as my forearm. It comes wet and with sour cream and guacamole for that price. Can’t beat it. This is a family run establishment, and everyone I interacted with was friendly. I will for sure be stopping here every time I’m in Mammoth. Take my advice, if you love Mexican food — skip the over crowded, over priced, non-authentic Roberto’s and go here.
