Started coming here while my pup was getting treatments at Hope Vet. Wonderful space and great sweets, love this place! Coffee is really good too, highly recommend.

We decided to check this place out. It was very laid back, lots of pastries, interesting concept. We had coffee, we enjoyed it. The staff was friendly, the place is nice and open. It seems like a nice place for families and large groups to hang out. For me personally it wasn’t my thing– while I think the open concept will appeal to some people, it just wasn’t for me. I want a cozy quiet spot to have my coffee. If you don’t mind the set up, or you have a large group please check this place out. I think kids would enjoy it as well. The prices are good, it is clean and cheerful. I think it is a nice option to have in the area. Enjoy!!!

I live a block from this place I’ve been there several times the food is good but can be a bit pricey I don’t really get the four dollar toast concept unless you are one of the yoga moms that show up with three or four kids and then all you can eat toast for four dollars is not such a bad deal. Most times I go there alone and get the coffee which is really good and occasionally an overpriced pastry. I’m hopeful that some other good food establishments move into the empty spaces along King Street to give these folks a little competition

I attended their opening last summer and have been frequenting maybe monthly since. My favorite time to go is weekdays for coffee/breakfast. Lunch on weekdays can be crowded and I don’t always love the food options. Weekends have been too crowded when I’ve dropped in. It can be very loud as the entire restaurant and kitchen is an open floor plan. The idea is they don’t have a set food menu, which I can deal with for breakfast, but not for lunch. They recently added seating with coffee tables outside and I enjoyed sitting in the sun last week when I was there meeting someone for lunch. We both had the hummus option and left full. I was looking forward to having the flourless chocolate cake but my full belly wouldn’t allow for it! I appreciate they took steps to be family friendly, but as of my second to last visit they did not have a changing station in either bathroom.

Unlimited toast– I haven’t seen that since college. I was obsessed with the toast conveyor belt contraption back then. Just haven’t had the need for unlimited toast since, maybe unlimited Belgian waffles. That would be heaven. I have tried this place a couple of times, love the communal tables. The food, at least what I’ve had was meh. Fresh, as it was missed the mark. I’ve had soups, salads and grain dishes. Would go again if the group wanted to go, but not running back.

Honestly amazing food. Responsibly and consciously sourced food that tastes amazing. I love the restaurant’s aesthetic and selection of meals and pastries. However, this place is anything but cheap. I came on a Saturday afternoon, and the demographic seems to be primarily white women. Payment is by the honors system.

Visited here today. We weren’t very hungry but thought we would stop after a trip to DMV, which of course was closed! The place is so cozy, there are beautiful baked goods and soups and salads. There was an egg dish with grains and a beautiful chicken leg on veggies. The salads were a cabbage slaw and another veggie dish. I was wanting a leafy green salad so that didn’t work for us. Soups were also offered but a little wild for us. The offerings are always different so sometimes it might not work out for everyone. We each had a flat white and enjoyed a cookie that was shortbread with a salty dusting, yummy!!! very clean, nice servers and lots of families relaxing!

I wasn’t sure what to think at first. The concept here is so unique, I knew I had to try it once. But my fear was that I would wind up in a world of «Main Line pretentiousness». If you’re not sure what I mean by that, well I’m not sure either. Just know that I know it when I see it. The truth is this. As far as food quality goes, I can’t say enough good things. Everything I ate was simply fantastic. From the hummus to the chicken liver kale sandwich to the cinnamon apple scone, the eating experience itself was nothing short of phenomenal. But here’s where I hesitate to go 5 stars for them. I didn’t come here expecting that my lunch would be hummus and a chicken liver kale sandwich. In fact I’m fairly certain that if you ever see me in public ordering that combination, I’ve been kidnapped and replaced by an alien clone. I had to eat that here. Because in the end that was the choice I was given. They only give you a few real lunch choices, and they all have some form of unique ingredients. Basically, if you don’t like what they’re offering, your lunch becomes unlimited toast and a pastry. That will be the only option you have left to eat. I wasn’t even sure I would like a chicken liver kale sandwich. But I wanted a sandwich and talked myself into it. The fact that it wound up being incredibly tasty to me is fortunate. Also, if you’re like me, you want to try a few different things to get the true flavor of a place. Unfortunately this means lunch becomes a $ 25 outlay. It’s not something I’d do every day. Basically, the food is phenomenal. But you have to be in an adventurous mood to walk in the door. Don’t expect to customize your order. You have to be willing to trust them and eat what they have. If this is you, then go for it!

Very disappointed. Had the eggs, «sausage» and potatoes breakfast with the unlimited toast and an ice tea. The breakfast consisted of stale fried eggs that had been sitting way too long, sausage that was actually blood sausage(they never mentioned that. beware kids!) that was inedible, and potatos that were flavorless. The bread was good, but who charges 4 dollars for toast?! My dining partner had the Napoleon which she said lacked flavor. Another dining partner had what looked like quiche and she complained although tasty, was too cold. The concept is interesting yet the food sadly does not deliver on any level. Will be not going back :(.

This place has completely won my heart over. In a nutshell, the Malvern Buttery is clean, ethical, reasonably priced food paired with a simple but elegant coffee bar in a gorgeous and yet also very kid friendly setting. I was a bit thrown for a loop by the unique buffet style of service, but it works and after my second visit I now find it endearing. The food is all very good and the barista definitely knew what she was doing. I sat at a sunny table, sipped on my latte and worked on my laptop for close to two hours and could have stayed longer. It’s a great place to grab a quick bite to eat or a coffee to go — but I’d recommend sticking around. What a gift this place is to Malvern!

Kinda surprised people like this place so much. The décor is nice, but I didn’t like the food selection and the drink selection wasn’t great either. The prices were crazy-high. I can’t figure out why this place is in business… I’ll admit that my dislike of the food selection is a «preference» issue, so I gave it two stars and not just one.

This nice place has the best coffee I’ve had in a while. It blows away Starbucks. The atmosphere is very chill and comfy, with free wi-fi. Overall a nice addition to Malvern.

Delicious selections and everything is made on site! A great addition to the community in Malvern. It is a family friendly place and the owners are so down to earth! Been here at least once a week since i t has opened. You never know what they are going to have so keep that in mind when visiting. I really enjoy their coffees and teas too. Their chai tea latte is so creamy! You can easily spend a lot of money here but it’s definitely worth it. The whole experience is unique. The atmosphere is completely different than any normal bakery or café. It is definitely a great place to meet up with friends for lunch or even to grab something quick to go. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the prices. I still think the all you can eat bread for $ 4 is a lot. Even though I would love to eat as much bread as I want I never can because I end up getting other things with my meal. Also at times it can get pretty noisy because of all the hard surfaces and concrete floors.

This is a must try place in downtown Malvern. The menu is fantastic for breakfast and lunch. They offer ‘all you can eat’ toast, bakery items that are made in house, and unique food. Tea is loose leaf tea and coffee is delicious! The atmosphere is vintage/industrial and features late tables that are communal. The staff is all incredibly friendly. It’s somewhat unique that you order your drinks and plate your own food and pay at the counter when you’re done. There is no waitstaff. Definitely recommend!

Amazing coffee, pretty good bakery and breakfast items and a GORGEOUS interior. This place is perfect for anyone looking for grab a light snack/morning coffee or tea. Their cold brew coffee is to die for! Not the best for kids though, they have a few pastries but a lot of things that require a acquired taste in food. Still, would recommend to anyone looking for coffee or tea in Malvern.

Become one of my favorite places for breakfast in the Malvern/Paoli/West Chester area. It is quick, convenient, well-light, and a good spot for a group or even if you have several kids. Staff are also pleasant too along with a having a great selection of coffees and teas. Even has convenient and easy parking since it is a block or two outside of downtown Malvern with a parking lot right across the street or easy on street parking. The only downside here is that some of the food gets a bit lukewarm if it is sitting out a bit too long during lulls in the breakfast/brunch rush. That was the case this Sunday with my fried eggs over seasonal fall vegetables(mainly fried potatoes but also some cauliflower and carrots. For people looking for basic diner fare, this probably isn’t a good option otherwise I would heartily recommend it even if it is a bit on the pricer side with toast, the egg side, and coffee(closer $ 15 with no tip since it is self-serve).

I am in love with this place for so many reasons. You walk up to the dishes and take one. You walk over to the«drink bar» and order one. If they can’t pour it immediately they find you and deliver it. You pay at the register when you’re done. You can get more food if you want. The décor is industrial, clean and there is gigantic amounts of seating. The food is gorgeous, local and organic where possible. The prices are cheap and easy to understand. Everything is labeled. Completely open kitchen. You see everything. This place is honest. It’s kind of cafeteria style but the food is so much better than cafeteria food. I had a brunch item, eggs with potatoes and beans for $ 6. Walked up, got it, grabbed a glass of free water, sat down, ate it, got up, paid 6.36, dropped a .64 tip in the jar, and the whole experience was incredibly efficient and painless and just amazing since I was busy that day. Like 7 minutes, since I gobbled my food. Wow.

Admittedly, anything with the word butter in it grabs my attention so i was intrigued. What brought me here were the reviews from the local Main Liners who were gaga over a new place in Malvern. And, the place is definitely filled with locals who are happy to have another place to dine. Saw Mommy and me groups, the«Ladies who Lunch» crowd and people who convene meetings over coffee. When you enter you see the signage indicating how this place works. — help yourself to food and find a seat — order a drink with the barista at the bar — pay before you leave at the register by the coffee bar. Got It! I was then warmly greeted by one of the baristas inquiring if i had any questions. No, i have it. Thank you. The interior is beautifully decorated with long wood, communal tables with warm sun streaming through huge windows. The ceiling has a painted wharehousy look with exposed pipes and venting which works well with the warmth and charachter of the long wood tables. On each table are fresh flowers in painted mason jars. This is a nice touch and As they are moveable they can serve as space dividers for different parties seated at the long table. Unsure if that was their intent but i used it as such. Along the window side you will find kiddie seating with a table and some books scattered about. I saw a mom come in for lunch and her little one immediately ran to the kiddie table and grabbed a book so the kids dig this place. Noteable: as this place fills up it can get a tad loud. And people come and go from your table if you tend to linger beyond 20 minutes. meal: –cappucino– delightful. — morning bun which was a mildly sweet cinnamon roll. Perfect with the cappuccino. — in a bowl pork shoulder with bloody butcher grits topped with pickled carrot salad with thinly sliced radishes. Ignore the bloody butcher grits name because these 3 items in a bowl worked! The cappucinno could have been hotter. I enjoyed the fresh ingredients and the excitement of new taste combinations. The staff are great.
