Nothing fancy, but THE best BBQ in this area. The brisket is great and super tender. RIbs are good, but to me I would order the brisket sandwich every time I went in. Lots of parking in the mall parking lot and takes all credit cards.

Tried many of their items at a party where jimmy’s was the caterer. Everything was incredible and the best bbq I have ever had. I smoke and bbq often and given how good their ribs, brisket, and chicken was I am not sure i will bother to cook myself. Hands down tender, juicy, great sauces, meaty, etc. I only have great things to say.

Most delicious BBQ this side of the Mason Dixon Line. Best ribs this side of Kansas City. Best brisket this side of Texas. I highly recommend the brisket, bacon, smoked wings, and ribs.

Everything I’ve had from Jimmys has been top notch, from the Wings to the ribs. The sides have all been excellent also, freindly people at the counter who take your order and bring your food out with a smile. It’s a byob also, so bring along your favorite beverage. Keep up the great work Jimmy!

Decent BBQ. We thought the chicken was better than the other options.

Pulled pork sandwiches are usually great and probably the best item on their menu. However, I recently ordered the pulled pork on a salad(a fading hangover from my New Years resolution to go low carb) and it was terrible. The salad was almost entirely lettuce and half of it it was rotten. I mean black mushy rotten lettuce! The cook had just emptied it out from an old bag without even bothering to check what was being put on the plate. Anyway, I’ve learned my lesson. It’s a low rent barbecue joint so just stick with the basic sandwich.

We have taken out from Jimmy’s 15 times or more for just us or family functions. We have never had bad food until tonight. We always order the family pack because their brisket is my favorite and tonight was no different. The pork was exceptional but the brisket was fatty. I called the store to see if I could pick up different brisket to replace the fatty pieces and the owner said no, he was going to bring new brisket to me! Jim showed up at our house 15 minutes later and I was not disappointed. I can now add exceptional customer service on to the exceptional food. I highly recommend this place!

AMAZING! Came in with the family and ordered pulled pork, brisket, Mac and cheese and corn bread. Everything was made in house and super delicious! BBQ sauce equally impressive. On top of the food being above satisfying the staff was great! Jimmy came out to our table to make sure we were happy and was very kind! We are new regulars, for sure!

We just had Jimmy’s cater a family birthday for 35 people. The food, service and price were all great. We added the smoked salmon to break up the heavier red meats, and it was a great decision that added welcome diversity to the protein selection. If ordering for a party, go with their recommendation for food amounts. We ordered just a few extra pounds of each meat(to be safe) and ended up with a sizable amount of leftovers, and trust me, we can really pack it in. We would still have had leftovers had we gone with the recommended amount, so listen to the experts. Overall, a great experience.

Never had a bad meal here… My husband loves it and literally came everyday when we lived closer. Recently had Jimmy cater a party and very guest raved about the food! From pulled chicken, to brisket, the smoked wings and ribs… You will savor the BBQ!

Living in the Northeast, you don’t always get to have a lot of good, traditional Barbecue. Sure, you could go to chain restaurants, where you’re supposedly getting the real deal, but knowing lots of local sauce makers and experiencing what you can try, it can be hit or miss. Jimmy’s BBQ makes a really good attempt at providing a good experience, but falls a bit short with some of the diners in my party. Atmosphere — Super authentic when you first walk in from the aroma of baby back ribs and sauces, to the wood tables with their paper towel stands. You know you’re going to dine well and be able to wash up in the super handy sink after your meal. A large board displays all the food here and there are many options. Add in a large TV(with some bad sun glare in the daytime). Definitely has the authentic feel to it down. Waitstaff — No waitresses here, the counter people take your order and then bring out your food when it’s ready. My counterperson was helpful and even suggested a meal that would knock a few bucks off my order. Brought the food out in a good amount of time and even allowed me to snag a drink on the way out I forgot I paid for. Food — This is where a true barbecue place makes its mark and here was some hits, and some misses. I went with the pulled pork sandwich which was tasty and had some flavor, more was added from the sauce once I put some on. Three to try here, and while the original was very tasty, the other two missed the mark a bit. The vinegar style was a bit too runny, I don’t mind that taste, but it was extremely watery and messy. The spicy style was also good, but again, didn’t really have the ‘kick’ you expect. Went with the cornbread for a side dish, and while okay, not really buttery or fluffy. More like an unleavened feel and taste to it, unless you want to add the small brick of butter. Intangibles — Place is not really air conditioned, so circulating fans spread the aroma which is nice, but on a humid day, make it very moist inside. Location is good of the main road, but about 60% of the other stores in this plaza are closed, so not a lot of foot traffic for people to walk by, if you’re going here, it’s to go here. Prices are a bit high, but they do provide good sized portions, just know before you go. Overall — A good theme and good attempt and decent barbecue. I’d much rather come to Jimmy’s to support local business and get away from chain restaurants. The food here has potential, and maybe we just went on an ‘off’ day. But wouldn’t hesitate to tell folks to try this place if they need to satisfy their craving in the future.

Came here on Sunday afternoon after we got back from a trip over the holiday weekend. A lot of other places in the area were closed, so we «settled» for this; it was all a blessing in disguise. This place could easily be overlooked since it was dimly lit at the end of a strip mall, but it’s a hidden gem worth 3.5 stars. My boyfriend works in the area and had been here before, and he automatically ordered the pulled pork sandwich. I tried some and the pork is nicely smoked with some outer pieces that had a great smokiness. He got the mac and cheese, which he’s a big fan of, but it was very bland to me. While the consistency was nice and creamy, it tasted like just that: tons of cream and serious lack of cheese. I got the pulled chicken that is made with a lot of spices, such as rosemary, black pepper and brown sugar. With the additional combo of sweet & bold and hot BBQ sauces, it was a great, unique flavor combination. The chicken was soo juicy and tender, and I was dying to know how they could roast it and keep that all locked in! The coleslaw with the sandwich was not my favorite(not fresh, a little too sweet and vinegar-y), and the bread was soo soft that it was falling apart by the time I was finishing my sandwich. Could use a sturdier bun to properly soak up juices and sauce. The baked beans were pretty good with a sweet and smoky flavor, which rescued the mac and cheese when combined.

I love Jimmy’s BBQ! The staff is excellent and the food is top notch. My favorite menu items are the beef brisket, smoked bacon and the potato salad. The corn bread is usually too dry for my liking, and the macaroni and cheese is very bland.

This is a generous rating because the guy at the register was great. I love BBQ. Real smoked BBQ. BBQ that spends hours in a smoker. Not that par boiled garbage that most places try to pass off as the genuine item because it falls off the bone. I’ve been to Jimmys before as well as have run into them vending at local blues festivals. Today I got the half rack of ribs and pulled white meat chicken. Two sides I picked were a salad(which is a big container of lettuce and a packet of dressing) and baked beans(tasted good). Ribs were good although several were burnt. Burnt as in black. They offer three sauces to add to your BBQ — sweet and bold(meh), hot(the best of the bunch) and Vinegar(spent two years in South Carolina and there is NOTHING I want to remember about that, including their vinegar sauce). The pulled chicken was not good. It tasted like the chef spilled a black pepper shaker in with it by mistake. A total waste of food and money. At 22 bucks for lunch, you gotta do better than that.

This is our favorite BBQ place. We love the bacon, ribs, smoked wings, mac & cheese, and sauces. It’s a BYOB. It’s in a little strip mall. It smells like heaven as soon as you open the door. We love Jimmy’s so much that we’ve had him cater my husband’s birthday party at our home.

Been hearing some terrific things about Jimmy’s from friends and coworkers, and I finally got a chance to try it today. We got the ribs, brisket, and smoked wings. Let’s start with the great: ribs. The ribs were tasty and juicy and they came in big portions. The rubs on the ribs were fantastic and it was very flavorful. For the ribs alone i’d come back to Jimmy’s. The good: smoked wings, different BBQ sauce, service. The smoked wings were very good and seasoned very well. Jimmy’s own BBQ sauce is also very good, especially the spicy one. Service was quick and the staff was very friendly to us as well as to the other customers while we were there. The not so good: brisket. Comparing to the absolutely awesome ribs and the good chicken wings, I have to say the brisket was very disappointing. It came out very very dry, and a little bit on the salty end. I love brisket so I hope it’s only an off day, but by looking at the other reviews it seems the brisket is not their best feature. Overall: enough for a 4* and definitely would come back again.

For me, the star of this place is the smoked bacon; you just can’t find anything like it around the region here. It’s delicious, it’s rich, it’s just so good; and it’s a perfect meal when paired with a nice cut of Jimmy’s homemade cornbread and the southern tea they keep on tap! Jimmy’s is not the coolest looking place to be and I’d love to see the other meats smoked a bit more flavorfully; but Jimmy & his staff are refreshingly nice and his sauces are very good. Do yourself a favor and don’t pass this one by!

I hate to knock down places when I originally gave them 4 stars. But I’m also into giving the truth. And what I had here recently wasn’t 4 star worthy. You see, competition is coming down the street. Fat Jacks is opening soon a short ride away. And I’m certain that’s a concern. So maybe it’s time to step up the game here. I got a three meat sampler. The sausage I tried was decent. The pulled pork was decent too if not overly flavorful(designed to taste the sauce better I am sure). The brisket came out on the dry side and a bit tough. Barbecue is a tough thing to get right on a consistent basis. Maybe the brisket has been better and I just came back on an off day. But once the competition gets going, I’m going to have a choice for BBQ in this area. A lot of people will. If I’m the owner of this fine establishment, I might want to take a hard look at what I’m serving. Barbecue is a proud and competitive world. There really isn’t room for slips in quality, especially to charge the prices that good barbecue demands. If I’m paying $ 22 for the combo, that brisket better be close to the best I’ve had. This wasn’t. Jimmy’s does enough well. Now they need to do better than before.
