Pleasantly surprised. If you have ever been through Route 9 and 67 traffic circle you have driven right by this joint. Family didn’t feel like cooking so we ordered take out. Basic Chinese food menu, we went with sesame chicken with white rice and sweet/sour chicken with lo mein combo plates along an order or crab Rangoon. Sweet and sour chicken was standard fair but the sesame chicken was where it’s at. Each piece had a delicious sauce that really stuck do the chicken pieces. I also felt the lo mein had a lot of vegetables in it which was a good thing. All in all some tasty Chinese.

We have been frequenting China Wang for more than two years now, and we loved them then, and we loved them now.(Shoutout to Otis M.‘s review for helping us try CW out in the first place.) I like to read all the reviews of a place if I can, and I just wanted to address one review that was taken down. The reviewer complained at the rudeness of the girl taking orders. I just have to say… you’ve got it all wrong. China Wang is clearly a family business, and the gal working the front of the restaurant has literally been there EVERY time we pick up our take-out. She answers all the phones, takes care of all the payments, and probably expedites. She can come off a bit abrupt, but she’s actually very, very nice(ask her about her day, for crying out loud!!), and has been responsible for us never having an incorrect order. She’s doing an awesome job, if you ask me. Now on to the food. China Wang is not a place to go if you’re looking for dim sum or probably any type of Chinese dish you might consider«authentic.» China Wang caters to a specific clientele(read: white suburban folk who don’t want to cook, and want to Netflix and Nosh(yes, I just coined a new phrase)(yes, I fall into this category)), and they know it. I’ve stood inside waiting for an order on a busy Friday night, and literally every order called out contained General Tso chicken. You know what I mean. But I gotta say… if you’re into General Tso chicken, it’s pretty f-ing good. Literally, my mouth drools just thinking about it, omg. If you want to try to be ~healthy~, you can do what I was doing for a while, which was ordering steamed chicken with vegetables, replacing the side of brown sauce with a side of General Tso sauce. You’re welcome. My fiancé is partial to their fried rice(not my jam – pretty salty and yellow… I prefer steamed rice) and their lo mein, which is admittedly pretty tasty. I also do dig on their egg drop soup, and if I’m feeling really adventurous, I’ll get some crab rangoon(note: their crab rangoon comes wrapped in fried wonton wrappers, not fried rice(?) wrappers like usual). Egg rolls are also solid. What else have I had there? Ah yes, Kung Pao chicken – tasty, but I should note that the chicken was surprisingly lightly battered and fried – not sure how I feel about that. Overall, we have never had a bad experience with China Wang. Everything has been super fresh and hot, even after a drive back home to Ballston Lake. Prices are very fair, and portions are enormous. If you go for lunch or order a combo, you’d have to be VERY hungry to finish it in one sitting. The only thing that would make this place better is if they would deliver. Then I’d basically never have to leave my home.

In my opinion, far and away the best takeout Chinese food you’ll find in Saratoga County! The food has FLAVOR(so lacking at other nearby establishments) and I would argue that they have some of the best wonton soup I have ever had! And it doesn’t hurt that they’re nice and friendly people to deal with. I would very highly recommend!

Everything is good! Place is clean, quiet and bright. No smells or anything annoying. They have complimentary tea and«lucky cookies». Food was served before I finished browsing a tiny 4– page newspaper. Little Chinese lady on the reception speaks good English and she explained the food eagerly and clearly. Stopped at our table a few times to ask if everything is okay and yes it was. Food tasted great, especially for this price range. We paid $ 45 for the dinner for the family of 3, which we couldn’t finish and took out, because it was really good size and so yummy. This is a family business, and the nice lady who served us appeared to be a family member, a schoolgirl, working full day at summer and studying in the breaks, which explains her great attitude and commitment to customer satisfaction. If I lived in this area, I would definitely come often!

We were looking for a Chinese restaurant to eat at before we headed to SPAC and we decided on this place. At first we almost didn’t order anything because its not really sit down restaurant but we decided to order and we are glad we did. They do have a small area with a few tables you can sit at and they do bring the food to you after you order. The food was excellent, large portion for the price. We got 2 full combination dinners, with a drink for less than $ 18.00. The only reason I am giving it a 4 is because, they leave the door open and there are flies flying around while your eating and the dining area needs a good cleaning. This is definitely a great take out Chinese food place, not a great place to eat inside. Will def order TAKEOUT from there in the future!!!

One of the best places to order Chinese Food in the Saratoga county area. It has all the same menu items as the other thousand Chinese food places in America. Most people know what to expect when they order Chinese, so I will keep it short ad simple, it taste the best in the area.

Ordered from here tonight. Everything was pretty good. My husband and I shared the fried shrimp(that was excellent). He had sweet and sour chicken, which he really liked. I had beef and broccoli — it was ok. Thought it was a little bland. Overall. I would definitely go back again. It was one of the cleanest Chinese restaurants I’ve ever seen and the staff was nice.

Needed to get some food and did not want to drive back to Saratoga. Wonton soup was good. Tried the beef sticks and they were a little too dry fort taste. However, the General Tso Shrimp was actually very good and I did enjoy it. All cooks are oriental(a good sign in my book) and the kid taking your order may not be the warmest person but speaks fluent English. I got my food fairly quick. I have been back several times since my first visit I and tried different items. I definitely recommend this place.

I stopped for lunch takeout at China Wang, which is located in a small strip plaza next to Stewart’s at the NE corner of the US9/NY 67/Dunning St roundabout. This little Chinese takeout place offers the standard Americanized Chinese menu offerings and chef’s specialties. Steamed healthy dishes are offered here. Most dishes/items priced under $ 12. 37 Lunch Specials(Mon-Sat until 3PM).served with pork fried rice and choice of soup, can of soda, or egg roll($ 5.55 chicken or pork/$ 5.85 beef or shrimp). 37 Dinner Combinations are offered here, served with choice of pork fried rice or white rice and egg roll($ 7.45 chicken or pork/$ 7.95 beef or shrimp). The place is order at the counter with open kitchen. There is a table with seats in front of the counter(for waiting) and more table seating in the adjacent room. Complementary hot tea! I ordered the L15 Chicken Lo Mein($ 5.55 plus tax) with pork fried rice and wonton soup. The food was ready to go in under 10 minutes after ordering. The food I had was decent for the most part and the good portion served in a plastic rectangle microwaveable container. and a plastic pint of soup The wonton soup was quite good, which had 3 firm wontons filled with ground pork in a light chicken broth with scallions. The lo mein consisted of carrots, onion, celery, cabbage, soft pieces of chicken tossed with very soft noodles. The fried rice(yellow color) was simple with a mix of onion and small pieces of pork in soft rice, though the taste of the fried rice was bland. Overall, this was more than enough food for lunch, which was filling and reasonably priced for under $ 6.

For Chinese food in this area, this place is pretty good. I love their steamed dumplings and lo mien. Stay away from their ribs, they are lacking in flavor and you can get better ones across the street at Tasty Chinese. Their general tsos is the best I have had. They are reasonably price and you get a large egg roll with the combo that is also fantastic.

I really can’t understand how this place is getting 4 – 5 stars. Trust me when I say, this place had the worst chicken fried rice I have ever had. It is really hard to screw up fried rice, and yet, they managed to do so flawlessly. The other chicken dish I had was ok, but still lacked seasoning.

We’ve been getting takeout here regularly since this past summer now; while we avoid the fried dishes(which includes the general tso), they are not greasy and the vegetables are all fresh and crisp. The curry sauces are nicely spicy yet don’t cover up the flavor of the meat(typically shrimp or chicken for us) and we always ask for all-white meat chicken. Prices are super reasonable. Agree with Ron that the fried dishes have too much paste, but as I said we avoid them and go with the stuff they do well. The Vegetable Lo Mein is a favorite, as are the curries, the szechwan and kung pao.

I stopped in for lunch and picked up the General Tso chicken lunch special. It was fairly close to what I’m used to at other Chinese restaurants. The portions were a little smaller which is good and also very inexpensive which is also good. I would give the food 3 stars, the price 5 stars and the name 5 stars… which will end up being a 4 star for this review.

Best Chinese take out in upstate ny hands down. I live in Saratoga and this place is worth the drive every time. The food is always fresh, the kitchen appears to be clean(as it is entirely visible from the counter) and the prices are all on par with any other Chinese place around here. I can’t remember how many times I’ve ordered take-out at other places(that I will refrain from mentioning) and it was obviously re heated or dropped in the fryer more than once before I got to it. Even the shrimp here are big and springy.

Had lunch here a couple days ago based on the reviews from past Unilocalpers. While not bad, I didn’t have the same great experience others seem to have had. I had the beef and brocolli with fried rice and an egg roll. It was about what I’d expect from a standard American Fast Food Chinese restraunt, nothing more, nothing less.

China Wang, heh heh. Ok, now that’s out of the way… I felt like I was back in Mountain View, CA when i walked into this place. Mostly Asian clientele and everybody’s wearing a security neck chain from the chip fab across the street. A very good sign, especially because they can eat on campus in their own gourmet cafeteria at discount prices. Zero décor, it’s basically a talkeout place where they’ve added a room to sit down and eat. Service is brusque. They want to be a cheapo lunch joint but they’re good cooks and the portions are generous. Net net it’s miles ahead of anything up the road in Saratoga where I live. Lunch special is currently $ 5.35 plus tax and you should be sure and ask for the hot and sour soup instead of the soda, then make yourself a cup of tea with the hot water in a coffee pot. I got General Tso chicken which is a cholesterol splurge for me, but somebody said it was good and it was. And the hot and sour soup is full of goodies and a lone diner was served a tub big enough to swim in. Quick tip: they don’t have hot sauce(except for little packets) so bring your own Sriracha or whatever. And it might be a good idea to pick up a mess of food to go then have a picnic at the Malta Drive-In which is less than a mile up the road. UPDATE: I’m not removing a star, but I’ve now discovered Tasty Chinese across the roundabout in the Shoppes of Maltae and like that a lot better. Add both to your lunchtime rotation and you decide.

Summary– The best Americanized style Chinese I have had in Albany. If you want real Chinese food this isn’t it. If you want General Tso’s chicken this is it. Food– 4 Stars First off it appears I will never replicate the deliciously perfect crab rangoons I used to get in Boston. The ones at China Wang were meh, but at least freshly fried. The Egg roll was pretty good. The Beef & Broccoli was excellent as was the General Tso’s chicken. Hot, fresh, well cooked. Service– 3 Stars Hung up on us when we called it in but nice when we were there. Atmosphere– 4 Stars You can clearly see the kitchen and it’s the cleanest Americanized Chinese takeout place I have ever seen. The dining area not so much but I never actually eat in take out places so who cares. Value– 5 Stars Cheap and good.
