Just had the new Chicken Italianio sandwich. Best sandwich ever! Thursday night is music and karoke… Such a neighborhood friends feel!

I guess it’s called the Woodside Tavern because the trees block much of the view of Saratoga Lake from the patio during the Summer. But we sat indoors so we had an even smaller view of the lake through the patio door window. We hadn’t been in this building in quite a few years. There were both good memories and not-that-great recollections of those previous visits to Cliff’s for the prime rib. The renovations to the interior are very nice. The only suggestion we have is that they look into installing some sound deadening material. Even when there were only about 12 other customers in the dining room, the din of the conversation from those people was quite loud. The list of draft beers was not extensive, but it did include some nice craft choices. My wife chose to start with a pint of Ithaca’s Flower Power IPA($ 6⁄16 oz.) while I was attracted to the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale($ 7.75÷16 oz.). We both were quite happy with our choices. We both also passed on appetizers and full size entrées in favor of their wraps. My wife opted for the Steak Wrap($ 12.95) while I went with the Chicken Chipotle Wrap($ 9.95). The Steak Wrap uses marinated and grilled flank steak, with sautéed mushrooms, onions, and peppers, some crumbled blue cheese, and a tiger sauce. The steak had a nice flavor, was tender, and there was just a bit of kick from the horseradish in the tiger sauce. It was good while her choice of beer-battered fries was very average. My Chicken Chipotle Warp had pieces of chicken breast that were not overcooked along with roasted red peppers, diced tomatoes, lettuce, and chipotle mayonnaise. Overall, it was very tasty, with a bit more spiciness than my wife’s wrap. My choice of sweet potato fries was about as average as her beer-battered ones. Service was pleasant, friendly and efficient, and food was OK. We’re glad we tried Carson’s, but don’t see any reason to hurry back.
