I mean it’s fast food. But the sourdough burger was pretty good. Outside eating area is pretty dirty though. I felt like I was eating in a porta potty.

Horrible customer service at this JIB location. Drive thru cashier needs to learn proper customer service tactics rather than ignoring paying customers while having an attitude. Please train employees accordingly.

Its junk food. but hell, yah only live once! After all these years we have only been to the Malibu Jack In The Box once. Overall the food was to be expected but the line seemed to take a bit longer then it should have. Friendly folks!

The food was passable, but I was very off put by the service. When I visited, the seem to be «night manager» Jose offered an imposing and uninviting ordering experience, followed up by a obnoxious berating while I attempted to figure out how to dispense water into my cup. Jose seemed grumpy and on edge, and I doubt I will visit this location while he is on duty.

One of the best-located Jack’s anywhere, right across from the Malibu pier, though very small and crowded, sometimes the tray return area isn’t clean or the restrooms but they have an enclosed patio area where you can watch traffic on PCH go by(no view of the ocean though). If it weren’t across from the popular pier and beach ambiance would rate low but it IS. Only 30-min. parking but you can spend that time taking your food across to the Pier and get your ocean fix that way for a fraction of what the newly re-opened Pier restaurant charges. I’ve had no problem with slow service eating in or a few times, in the drive-through line. But I haven’t asked for special accommodations and these days, like their portabella mushroom burger and there’s always something to please the kids. I miss their ciabatta bread sandwiches though, don’t know why some of their items don’t pass the muster. Curly fries and decent value meal and cheap tacos if you need to round out an order. To the folks complaining staff doesn’t speak English, they do seem to be mostly Latino here as at many fast food places even grocery stores in Malibu and nearby beach areas, probably they can’t find enough spoiled rich local kids to work here so the workers commute. Normally I just order and don’t need to discuss much, as Angelenos we’re used to it. However both here and at the Sunset/PCH location I’ve encountered staff who literally can’t understand anything but if you point at the menu they understand, however that is rare and I’ve never encountered intentionally rude staff — lots of foreign visitors seem to stop here. Almost across the street from the very expensive celebrity magnet Nobu, the area is a contrast of extremes but everyone is just enjoying the perfect weather and the ocean. Locals are also used to homeless foraging for bottles and hunkering down on the beach by nightfall, however I’ve never encountered anyone dangerous or actively panhandling. Nice that this location has been here for many years, pretty quiet weekdays when you might fudge the parking time, whereas across the street at the Pier it’s about $ 10 bucks.

Open 24 hours. Drive thru at 3 am during our road trip. Food tasted fresh, even at that hour.

Wow. We’re reporting this place to corporate because of the manager, Jose. He has the worst, most sarcastic attitude, and he condescends his customers. If Jack in the Box supports this behavior, then we shall boycott this place. My age demographic provides the highest traffic to Jack in the Box, and we will happily share the word to others at local universities so that they will not go here either until Jose is gone. Jose, if you’re reading this, you have NO business working with customers.

About a 2 – 2.5: I’ve always been curious about Jack in the Box, so while my husband and I were in Malibu, we decided to check this place out before heading back to our car: P This fast-food chain has been around since ’51, and is originally from San Diego. They offer burgers, chicken sandwiches, breakfast sammies, tacos, chicken nuggest, salads, and shakes/desserts. We shared a Jumbo Jack Cheeseburger meal with a side of curly fries — I was just not a fan of the burger, as I thought the beef patty was not fresh. Also, it just looked quite unappetizing. The side of curly fries, however, was freshly-made, and they were crispy and delicious. The restaurant itself had some nice and efficient employees, but the place itself, otherwise, was a little dingy. Located off of Pacific Coast Highway, there is also a small lot to park your car. I’m glad I was able to check this place out, but will not return! +crispy curly fries(when fresh!)

After spending the afternoon at Santa Monica Pier we wanted a quick bite to eat while making our way to San Francisco. This was our first time dining at Jack In The Box and we actually enjoyed eating here. The only downside was that the bathrooms could have been better maintained. The staff members were extremely polite which was nice. The food was made fresh and the time it took to make it was not long. After we got our food we ate outside and enjoyed the incredible weather. Overall, we enjoyed the meal, the staff was great, and the experience was nice. This is obviously a fast food restaurant but in the end it was a great place to grab a quick bite to eat while on the road.
