TOP NOTCH plants and employees at this location. They will definitely steer you in the right direction. We were planting a new tree where walnuts used to be and mentioned that detail to Bill, who was taking care of us, and he took it upon himself to go to the computer and research what plants are effected by toxins in walnut root systems for us (who knew!). Turns out the dogwood is safe so that was great for us, especially because we came for the half off trees sale (the sale is over but he said they might bring it back this fall — keep your eye out — we got a dogwood for 32 measly dollars)!
They have great prices and a huge selection, no need to shop anywhere else!

I was in a bind. I needed an herb — lovage — to make a certain dish. I couldn’t find it anywhere. No grocery carried it, and I searched, I really did. Then I had the idea of calling a plant nursery. Maybe I could grow it? It was pretty late in the growing season, so I was worried it’d be long gone. But I called and the staff person was super friendly and helpful. I mean, I’d been calling stores all day looking for lovage. Answers ranged from «That’s a type of wine, right?» to «We don’t carry that brand of soap.» Not at Greenfield. I asked for lovage and the staff person simply said, ‘Oh, ya, sure. We’ve got some in the greenhouse.’ Woot Woot! I found the place (it’s a little tricky. The first time you’ll probably drive right past it because the entrance just sort of sneeks up on you) and purchased their last 6 lovage plants. Again, the staff person was super helpful. She walked me over and helped me with the plants. Very reasonable prices too. We had lovage for the entire summer. It was delicious!
