Food is ok, but the miso soup dish seems not clean(I felt strange texture when I hold the dish/cup).

Yuki Hana was a great dinner experience last night. My and my friends ordered a medley of sushi and hibachi dinners and were all extremely satisfied. Like most sushi joints, you can see the chefs cutting and preparing all of the fish. The fish cuts were generous and tasted pretty fresh. After our meals were finished, which was just before the restaurant closed we asked if we could order the sashimi love boat. The restaurant was more than happy to stay up later so we could finish the boat without being rushed. The only reason i rated four stars instead of 5 was because the prices at this restaurant are on the higher side compared to other sushi restaurants.

I was at the Honda dealership next door to this strip mall and came over to grab a quick lunch. I’d driven by this strip mall many times before and didn’t realize there was a sushi place. I love sushi so I was pumped. I was also pretty excited because Yuki Hana had phenomenal Unilocal reviews(50+ reviews and a 4 star average). I came in to a nearly empty restaurant and was seated at the sushi bar. My waitress came over and gave me the menu. I went right to the lunch specials section and they have pretty similar specials to other sushi restaurants. I went with the 2 roll special with soup and salad for $ 10.95. I did order 2 spicy tuna rolls and they do charge an extra $ 0.50 for any«spicy» roll. I found that a little strange. However, they did give you both soup and salad. I actually really enjoyed the soup and salad. The salad was good and I liked the ginger dressing. The miso soup was very good. It had more tofu than other miso soups have and I liked that. My 2 spicy tuna rolls were pretty ordinary. Don’t get me wrong, they were not bad but they were average to slightly above average. There was also very little presentation and they didn’t contain a lot of fish. They were tasty, however. Service was pretty quick but the restaurant was empty throughout my entire meal so I’d pretty much expect that. With a soda, my meal came to about $ 17-$ 18 with tip. That’s a little pricey for a 2 roll lunch special. Madison has some other highly rated sushi restaurants that I will probably try the next time I’m grabbing sushi in the area.

Went here for lunch while checking out a place nearby for my sons birthday party. I have to say, their food was great! My wife had a bento and I had some sushi and beef negamaki. The service was great and turnaround time was fast. Prices are a bit rich but no different than any other Japanese place. If you’re in Madison I highly recommend!

Went to Yuki Hana for Valentine’s Day. Always a great place to go with the family. Sushi is very fresh and the presentation is classic Japanese. Very comfortable atmosphere.(BTW — the liquor store in the plaza has an excellent sake selection!)

Very good sushi. I ordered a bento box of chicken teriyaki and a California roll. The bento box came with miso soup and salad with a ginger dressings . The food in the bento box was really good and filling. It came with shrimp and vegetables tempura. Chicken mixed vegetables dinner with miso soup salad and white rice. There was very little chicken. but the rest of the food made up for California roll was good. I’m looking forward to going back and trying some different rolls. If you go for Friday they are packed.

Have been here twice– the first time around, I would have given it three stars, but it gets bumped up to four after my second visit last night. I would not recommend getting sushi here– the chirashi I had last time was decent(fairly good fish and decent cuts) but the variety and presentation of fish was disappointing. However, my friend comes here for the sukiyaki, which admittedly is very good. The soup base is excellent(if a bit too strong). I have a soft spot for the konnyaku shiritaki noodles they use. Ingredients are plentiful and fresh. I had the yasai tofu udon yesterday, and asked for it with less salt. It came out perfectly, with large chunks of tofu and broccoli and perfectly cooked udon. Give this place a try– just be warned that some of the appetizers(the octopus for example) veer to the side of being Chinese food.

Very good sushi, tempura and fried banana dessert with mango ice cream. The wait staff was also great. I just wouldn’t sit too close to the hostess area, we were watched very closely and would’ve liked a little more breathing room. They were just doing their best and that is all you can ask

My friend and I had been very excited to try this place as it had been close to where we were working and had great reviews. However, upon going to the restaurant and looking at the menu, there didn’t seem to be anything special about this restaurant. But we gave it a chance anyway. We were disappointed when the food came and the taste was very mediocre. The uni was dark colored and did not taste quite right(this is not our first time eating uni by the way). The sashimi came in fairly large pieces and we’re okay in flavor, but nothing too special. Overall it’s a decent place for sushi but not the best. Just ok.

impressive! these guys are situated in a little strip mall very close to drew university, where i’m at this week for a conference, so my co-worker and i came by to give this place some love, because it was open until 10 pm and we’d headed in late in the evening. good stuff! tasty shu mai, an amazing thin-sliced avocado/salmon/tempura flake appetizer(cold, and crunchy, and soft, and amazing), excellent presentation all around, flavorful seafood rolls, very good-quality sushi(not excellent, slightly better than good), fancy(i think this is a japanese thing) orange cut out around the edges with quarters that could be picked out by toothpicks). not too cheap(we ran about 45 a head) but pretty good stuff, all said and told. not sure what to say about the folks who had stomach issues or sushi quality problems — maybe the overall execution is inconsistent depending on the day, but for my one experience, 5 stars for madison, 4 overall.

Good food but unfortunately understaffed. We had to wait 30 minutes before our food came and we just ordered a few rolls, nothing fancy. Just a tip to the restaurant staff, next time you make someone wait over 15 min throw in a miso soup!

I’m a poor student, so generally when it comes to sushi(or really anything), I try to go for quantity over quality. Then I stepped into Yuki Hana. My friend and I ordered about 5 rolls together(I’m sorry it was while ago and I forget which ones they were), but ALL of them were delicious and the QUALITY of the seafood was really noticeable! It was not over-priced, either. The service is good as well and I do remember the green tea ice cream was bangin’ I’ll be back here soon.

We wanted to explore other sushi options in our area, so many family tried Yuki Hana. We ordered the sushi and sashimi for 2(although we had 3 people), and it was more than enough food. We were surprised that it came with more sashimi than sushi and arrived in a huge boat. The meal also came with two miso soups and two salads. The salad had too much dressing but otherwise tasted okay. The miso soup was on the salty side. The fish itself was not super fresh, which you could tell visually(e.g., the tuna had an inconsistent color), and from how it tasted(fishy). The fishy taste definitely lingered long after the dinner. If your’e looking for sushi, I think it’s worth spending a little more for Nikko in Whippany, where the fish is much fresher.

I was actually shocked by the food here(…in a good way) Being from New York. and having been to places like Morimoto(while he cooked) and Cotan and practically living on St. Marks, I had low expectations when I saw this sushi place parked within a strip mall in Madison, NJ.(Especially for a Friday lunch — talk about off peak) According to trusty Unilocal though, it had enough good ratings for me to risk a try. Wow. Sweet, courteous service! A staff that cared about cleanliness? Nice thick cuts of sashimi. that was cool to the touch? A good sign. Overall, it was an above average experience with food that exceeded my expectations. Well of course it’s not top notch sushi but then again, we’re not in Japan. We’re in Madison, NJ. So, if you’re around and not feeling the Nautilus or Five Guys. skip the Whole Foods and come down here instead.
