OK, this is my first and probably only review I’ll do on Unilocal.Flat out, this place is amazing. Exactly what a deli should be, great service, clean and high quality. As a Trenton native, I take my pork roll(taylor ham to the«classy» northerners) very very seriously. These guys hit the mark 100%, it might be the best PEC I’ve ever had and that’s saying a lot. You want a real deli experience, Mimi’s is it.

My girlfriend lives in Madison and I am usually over for breakfast a lot of the time. I am also a food lover so I had been trying to find the best place to grab breakfast. We tried all the bagel shops and they were over priced and badly staffed. Then I came across this gem. Mimi’s has the traditional feel of a New Your deli and even has the Yankee memorabilia too. They have a ton of sandwich choices for breakfast and lunch. Good deli meat, fresh bagels, drinks, coffee and most importantly the owner is an extremely nice welcoming guy. Don’t waste your time with the other boring crowded bagel shops that are trying to be Mimi’s deli. Support a small business owner who cares about quality and his customers. You won’t be disappointed.

I’ve only had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast sandwiches at this deli. The quality is outstanding and reminiscent of the bacon and egg sandwiches my grandpa would make for us as children. A+ for breakfast and hopefully one day I will be lucky enough to have a lunch break and stop in to try out more of their menu. Customer service is very friendly, hometown kind of a feel. Always polite and something nice to say. Oh and the best part, you can see the grill area that hot food is prepared and it is PRISTINE!

I had been in the area for work for three weeks and until mid way through the second week I had not yet had a Ruben sandwich. I did some quick research, read Satoshi’s review, and the next hing I knew I was standing in Mimi’s asking for a Ruben. The gentleman behind the counter asked if I wanted a Pastrami Ruben and fortunately I said yes. The next questions was what bread Rye? I guess he had to ask because some people do not know what a true Ruben sandwich consists of. The next question was mustard or russian dressing. My brain locked up and I slipped into one of those TV time warp tunnel like states of consciousness because I was pretty sure he asked if I wanted russian dressing. I have no idea when the last time I saw a menu with a Ruben that was served with russian dressing. What treat to have russian dressing on a Pastrami Ruben. The place is really small but… as we know good things come in small packages! If you lucky enough to get there when nobody else is eating in you can use one of the three seats and sit down and eat. Parking is limited to out front, 3 or 4 spots. Don’t park in the back, they will ask you to leave. I went back again during my third week and enjoyed another great Pastrami Ruben. These two guys are really great to chat with and will end up serving many more people in the near future I am sure! Hopefully I will be going back again in a few weeks!

Wow, what a find. I’ve been driving up and down through the area visiting a friend and passed Mimi’s a couple times without giving it a second thought… wish I had stopped earlier! One morning I had a hankering for a killer Taylor, Egg, and Cheese and realized that there was really no good breakfast shops in the area. So as I’m cruising past I see this place and think«Hmmm I bet they do breakfast sandwiches, and it looks like an awesome little hole in the wall». Sure enough, best decision ever! The place is absolutely perfect for what it is: a little small town kitchen with great food, the cook was extremely friendly, and everything was very clean and neat. While I was there a couple of locals came in and out talking with their morning routines. The Taylor, Egg, and Cheese was absolutely phenomenal… and huge! I wish I had a picture of it, the thing was off the cover of a magazine. Layers deep, arranged perfectly, and I think I had heart palpitations after eating it. I will definitely be stopping in here for a lunch sandwich at some point, the specials look excellent.
