Food was okay, unfortunately not good enough to go back. I tend to like places that are more authentic and use fresher ingredients. Service was fine though.

We frequent this establishment several times a month because the food is crazy good! I would give 5 stars but the service is terrible. Consistantly… bad service.

Great strawberry margaritas. Fajita salad was good but watery. Hawaii. Fajita was special and was good. Not the best in town but will do.

This location is clean and very open with plenty of seats and booths. This is a great location for large parties! The service is decent. It can be a hit or miss here. On previous times visiting the service was spot on, we didn’t have to ask for anything. The service last night was definitely a miss. Had to ask multiple times for more chips or salsa or even drinks. Also had to remind the waiter for the additions that we added on our meal. So far all of our meals have been great. My husband’s favorite is the Angel’s Plate(think extra large chimichanga filled with Chorizo, Steak, Chicken, Shrimp, and Onions covered in cheese dip) or the Miguel’s Pizza(two large flour tortillas with Chorizo, Chicken, Steak, and shrimp, with Hot Sauce). I personally love the Texas Quesadilla(Chicken, Steak, Shrimp, Cheese, Bell peppers, and Onions served with Rice and Beans). My kids love the Las Trojas Dip(Cheese dip with Chunks or Chicken, Shrimp, and Steak, served with Pico and Tortillas on the side) and also the Pollo Feliz(Chicken, Cheese Dip, and Rice). So far, we have yet to have anything that was not completely tasty and satisfying. Also, the margaritas are outstanding. They come is various sizes depending just how much you like. Overall, Las Trojas is a place we love to enjoy. We have some other favorites in the area, but this is a great place that we can always rely on for dinner!

My favorite traditional Mexican restaurant in the area. My favorite item so far is the Texas Quesadilla. It’s a big fajita shrimp/beef/chicken combo quesadilla. It’s fantastic. Get some cheese dip too, you won’t be disappointed.

Great food, very reasonable prices and excellent service. Thursday nights they have a Trivia Contest(7:00PM) that is a lot of fun.

We’ve been to Los Trojas numerous times. We’ve been a part of a party of 20 which they handled tremendously well upon walk in, as well as normal sized 2 – 6 person parties. The restaurant itself is very large, spacious and accommodating. They have two bars and plenty of TVs. If you want a chicken quesadilla, go to Taco Bell. If you want good hearty fajitas, alambre, good guacamole, burritos, etc… Go to Los Trojas. The complimentary chips and salsa are very addictive as well. They even have good horchata and great micheladas! Also, one word CEVICHE. I’m sorry some other reviewers had such terrible experiences. We’ve never had anything near a bad experience visiting Los Trojas. When we have people visit from out of town, it’s the go to restaurant and they’re always amazed. If you live in Madison and like Mexican food, you should have already eaten at Los Trojas.

Husband is in love with this place. They have a TON of food to choose, which can be good or bad. Great drinks! Good prices. They have different types of trivia a few nights a week, which pretty fun!

The Madison Las Trojas is great! The fajitas are seasoned well and the service is prompt. Atmosphere also gets good marks! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for some good Mexican/texmex in the Madison area.

The décor and ambience of this place is awesome. Just a fun, relaxing, newly built Mexican restaurant. Very spacious and comfortable, with a good ol’ boy playing acoustic guitar and singing. The waitress was friendly and very polite. The chips and salsa was pretty tasty, but I’ve had better. She kindly brought us out some hot salsa to go with the medium standard they served initially. I’m not a drinker, but my co-worker’s Margarita looked delicious and was as big as your head! I ordered the beef/chicken combo fajitas and the flavor was great, with adequate toppings. My only complaint was the amount of meat was a bit lacking compared to all the peppers and onions. There was only one other negative — I witnessed one of the male waitstaff leave the restroom without washing his hands! At least it was only #1, and he was not our server. But llavarse los manos por favor! Correct that problem and serve a little more meat with the fajitas, and it would’ve been a 5 star rating.

The frozen skinny margaritas are AMAZING. The grilled chicken fajitas with the pinnapple are GREAT too. Their tacos are not great though. The service wasn’t that great on the patio either. The waitress was really awkward though. I wasn’t really upset were her beung slow so much as incredibly dull.

Las Trojas is by far my favorite place for Mexican food! The restaurant is clean, and the décor makes it a comfortable place to be. The salsa is excellent and every menu item I’ve tried has been fantastic. They also have what I would call the best margarita in town, bar none. They’re the best, not the cheapest. So if you want great food and margaritas, this is the place to go!

Lots of great options in all prices zones, from $ 7 – 20 for dinner. Good options for vegetarians and carnivores alike. Options include steak, fish, bean, chicken, shrimp, even goat.

This is a great restaurant. Their salsa is good, chips are good and the food is good. I especially love their angel plate which is a huge burrito fried in a huge flour tortilla with chorizo spicy pork, grilled chicken, grilled steak, grilled shrimp with grilled onions. Then smothered in queso. Wow. Has a little of everything and is super tasty and just around $ 10. It’s a full meal. The wait staff is informative, friendly and attentive. The restaurant is large restaurant that is clean and well decorated. Prices are good and won’t break the bank. Good job guys, keep up the good work!

Beautifully decorated inside, this place has a warm atmosphere. It’s a large space inside, which they’ve tried to make a bit more intimate with tall booths and dividing walls. I personally prefer restaurants that are a bit cozier, but this would be a great space for a large group outing. Food-wise, I’d say this is your average, typical Mexican restaurant. The complimentary chips and salsa are perhaps slightly above average(perfectly-spiced salsa; warm. crispy chips). Bar drinks are average. Entrees were tasty, but not blow-your-mind delicious. Service was also average(based on our Sunday lunch experience). One of our entrees was not delivered with the others, so we all waited to eat until it arrived… which was finally brought out 12 – 15 minutes after the rest of us had been served. It was just a cheese quesadilla(as opposed to other entrees at the table that would clearly take more time, such as fajitas and chile rellenos). It was obvious that the order had been forgotten or not input correctly. We did not ask for nor we were offered any kind of compensation for the order being delayed, nor were we given any kind of explanation for the long delay. Would hubs and I go here again? Probably, if we were with a group and this is what they voted for. On our own, though — probably not.

The old Surie has a new look and new concept, why not have a mexican place near Casa Blanca? This place is really good, like the other ones I have been too. I came here with my grandfather for his birthday a few weeks ago and it did not disappoint. It was busy for a Wednesday night but the place is new so what do you expect? I ordered the Deluxe Quesadilla as I remember it being called with refried beens and rice and it was so fresh and seasoned well, I wanted to order more when I was done. I recommend trying this place if you like Rosies, you might think twice about going there again.
