Had the mushroom encrusted sirloin($ 30). The salad was very ordinary and even though the steak was cooked perfectly, it was still very tough for a $ 30 steak. I expected much better.

Madera’s finest. I should have gone with the burger — my buddy ordered it and it looked excellent(he said it tasted excellent Too). I had the sirloin steak salad. It was decent enough. I didn’t care for the duck taco appetizer. Duck was really over cooked and chewy.

Always our favorite place to go! The bread and olive dip id’s so yummy and fills me up fast. Probably because I eat so much. Great drinks and wine from the bar. The pasta meals are my favorites. Love the Vineyard.

Great food and great service! Easy on/off access from the 99 in Madera and beautiful holiday ambience. The owner brought us drinks while we waited for our server. It was kind of busy because a hospital group was having their holiday party that night. But we were seated and attended to promptly. The bread was fresh and served with an interesting Olive dip/spread, different, but delicious. My husband ordered the pork stir fry special, but he didn’t really like it. They had no problem taking it back and bringing him a salmon salad. There was nothing wrong with it, I actually liked it, just not what he was in the mood for. My Mahi Mahi was probably the best I have ever tasted! Perfectly cooked and seasoned, accompanied with tender carrots, grilled Brussel sprouts, and I requested garlic mashed potatoes in lieu of couscous. We also ordered crème brûlée for dessert. Very creamy, sweet, and artistically presented with a kiwi-raspberry sauce rose painted on the plate. Our entire meal, drinks, entrée, salads, dessert and tip were under $ 50. We are definitely returning!

The Vineyard is no doubt the best restaurant in the Central Valley. We have dined there numerous times and have never been disappointed. Especially good are the lasagna and the lamb shank. The service is always excellent — attentive and friendly. If you ever visit the lovely town of Madera, be sure to visit The Vineyard too!

I had a great dining and wine/beer tasting experience here yesterday! We came for lunch and I decided on the lamb shank. It was perfect, melt in your mouth tender goodness! Sometimes lamb can be a little tough but they must have been softening this lamb shank for days! I finished with the crème brûlée which was so rich and not to sweet– seriously, the custard was perfect. I never knew this place was here, but now that I do– I will definitely return when I am in town!

if I could no stars but we all know Unilocal doesn’t allow it. The first time we came for dinner the lamb shank was delicious and big enough to share. Was pleasantly surprised to find such a nice restaurant in Madera. Decided to make the 1.5 hour drive on a Friday night for a birthday dinner. What a waste of time and gas money! The seafood wasn’t fresh. When I expressed concern that the halibut tasted strange(like frozen, then thawed, then left out too long) to the maitre ‘d he replied their fish was not frozen. Nothing about how he could make it better. Also they messed up our dirty martinis. service was OK. Probably will go somewhere in Fresno next time for a special occasion dinner.

I went to The Vineyard for dinner on a Monday night. It was a slow night, but Michelle was second to none! From the start she was personable and accommodating. We discussed how we found the restaurant on Unilocal and the excellent ratings. She brought us a sample of wine without being asked because it was her recommendation. For dinner, I ordered the chicken carbonara and my boyfriend ordered the ratatouille. Both dishes were delicious and very reasonably priced for the quality. Upon completion of our meal, we asked for a dessert menu, but Michelle said she already had something coming out for us(pictured) and if we didn’t like it we could order something else. It ended up being fresh strawberry bread pudding topped with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and a chocolate drizzle. The plate was decorated with the Unilocal logo just for laughs. I wasn’t expecting the experience I received, but I will definitely go back when in the area.

I got the chicken breast, a bit over cooked and hard to cut with my knife. Sides(veggies and potatoes) were decent, staff was pretty friendly. Based on Unilocal this was one of the better places to eat in Madera, may or may not give them another shot if I am in the area.

Went to The Vineyard in April 2015, hadn’t been there for three years – and the maître d’ Chris Mariscotti not only recognized me and greeted me warmly but led me to the same booth I had occupied in 2012! C’mon, this is a bustling venue that concentrates on great and inventive cuisine, and he has that kind of granular memory of the patrons? I fall for the fabulous osso buco(zinfandel braised lamb shank) every time, so I don’t have perceptive comments about the rest of the menu. The wine list is outstanding as well, although – the drudge I am – I stick with the same few favorites visit after visit. The Vineyard promises a lovely evening out if you live in Madera or Fresno counties, and a welcome break if you’re driving through from anywhere else.

My husband and I have ordered takeout from The Vineyard Restaurant twice. Both meals were exceptional and well worth the price! The first time we heard about The Vineyard was at the 2013 Pomegranate Festival in Madera. They were serving their signature appetizer, Pomegranate Bruschetta. It was so delicious and mouth watering that we knew we had to try that place out! I ordered the Asian Chicken Salad. It was so crunchy and fresh. I was just a little disappointed that the chicken was on the dry side(both times). But their amazing Asian Sauce made up for that. My husband is a Bacon Cheeseburger Plain kinda guy and he said that his burger was very tasty with a good thickness and perfectly seasoned meat patty. It feels very business casual inside the restaurant with the dark wood, beautiful paintings, wall murals and the separate seating areas. It is also a little on the pricey side, but very worth it. If you are looking for a business meeting or romantic dinner location, I would recommend The Vineyard.

I don’t know what I was expecting, but this certainly was not it. Decidedly an older crowd, I felt a little underdressed and underaged. Gets busy early for dinner and clears out pretty early, too. Highly recommend the«adult mozzarella sticks,» though I wihs I had gone with the more«safe,» if not just as intriguing-sounding Thai Duck Salad than the Beef Tongue small plate as the latter was very bland and unsavory — not what I expected at all from something«cooked in bacon fat.» Overall, it was okay and I appreciated the creative touches like olive aoili with your bread rather than olive oil and vinegar. They also had a comparatively impressive wines by the glass list(more than just three reds and three whites). The service, however, was STELLAR! Josh catered to my ever(borderline annoying) whim and ensured that even though the food was«blah,» the experience was much less so. I will go back and try more on the menu SOLELY for the expectional service and friendliness of this young man.

good food & service but the lighting in there was kind of dark so I couldn’t see the food presentation well. I guess the dim lights is the theme. needless to say, the food was good. a bit pricey but for a romantic time, this is probably your best bet.
