I so wish this place was open when we lived in Macon. Now though, it’s only a stopover to the airport. And lucky for them, they have a great little Greek eatery. My wife is Greek, and she argues that there are items on the menu that are middle eastern, but what does she know… all I can tell you is that it was very tasty. I had the veggie gyro. It was packed with lettuce and grilled onions and feta. The best is always the juicy bite at the end. I also ordered a dolmades. They came in 5 per order, but they are very small, so don’t worry about eating too much. They were also quite tasty. Their other menu options look great as well. And the tzazeki wasn’t too bad either. My only negative is that the place looks a little run down, but if you’ve ever seen some of the eateries in Greece, it’s no big deal. A great place to get some non South Georgia food in middle Georgia.

Disgusting bathroom. Needs a MAJOR cleaning. Food OK but not noteworthy, especially given the prior reviews that piqued our interest as we drove home from the beach.

In name this place looked promising, but not exactly what I was looking for. The tzatziki sauce was too thin and not very good, not much cucumber or garlic, probably the worst I have had in the since I came back to the States in 1981. The Gyro meat was not very moist and taste was not that much either. Baklava was OK but not as good as most places. This is fine if in a hurry but not authentic enough for me! I was really excited to try this while here on business, however I was very underwhelmed!

Their Gyros are simply the best in town. Ask for extra sauce. Service is super, too & they have a deli counter, in case you want to bring home some hummus or tabouli.

The food was great. We had gyro plate and a super(mega) gyro which was like a cheesesteak gyro. The kitchen staff made sure to ask us how our food was, but the tables and chairs are all off balance.

As an Atlanta native, I try to stop in when passing through Macon. Can’t beat their gyros(I get feta added) and salads. If you like food, you’ll like this place.

The food is fancy, you get what you pay for. This is a sit down, fast food type of lunch place, but it is good. You can get a gyro sandwich or falafel sandwich for about $ 6 and you can get babaganoush(sp), hummus and dolmas appetizers/side for about $ 3. I would definitely stop here again on my way from Atlanta to Savannah again.

Vegetarian friendly and must try the baba ganoush! All of our food was delicious(also had the lentil soup, falafel, and hummus). Will definitely come back

First time visiting today and hope to add more stars upon future visits passing through. Ordered the Yia Yia’s favorite Greek salad with beef and lamb. Loved it. It’s a large version of their original Greek salad but with gyro meat added and served with olive oil/vinegar dressing, tzatziki sauce with a crusty piece of French bread on the side(the bread was stale but I was hungry so I ate it anyway). I devoured the entire meal. I’ve had a gyro once before and swore off them because it was nasty. I went to one of those franchises where the meat looks like steak ums. A very small, no frills shop that cranks out one hell of a flavorful salad. Even the gyros I saw being served to others looked delectable. Look forward to upping my stars with future visits.

I had my first experience just yesterday with this restaurant. It was a struggle to go between three and four stars, but I want to give them the benefit of the doubt. First of all, I’m not really one to get takeout; however, my date didn’t want to eat out so I did the smart thing… Did what she wanted. Ha! The restaurant is nice inside… It’s like a café really. You order at the counter and they will bring it to you but I’m not sure they have waitstaff. The menu is quite eclectic, Something probably for everyone. I think one of the employees was at the back door smoking and I could smell cigarette smoke in the dining area which was a little bit of a turn off. You guys behind the counter were nice to me and they prepared the food pretty quickly. But, when I got it «home», just like normal, it tasted limp, bland, and dry. I got the gyro plate, and my date got the pastistio. My curly fries were undercooked and the slices of Gyro meat were somewhat dry. I’m going to chalk it up to getting it as takeout. I will try again but I’m not overly enthusiastic. The prices are appropriate.

Excellent Mediterranean Food. We had a little of everything ~ Very authentic. The gyros have a distinct lamb flavor. Tetziki is made with yogurt. Best hummus we’ve ever had. The Baba Ganouj has a hint of smokiness, unique and delicious. Also great tabbouleh. Spanakopita had lots of filing, tasty, light, a touch of crispy. Overall it was the perfect meal.

BESTGREEKRESTAURANTINMACON! hands down. It’s a counter/deli type place where you place your order at the register. I’ve always placed my order there and have never waited more than 10 minutes. The yiayia salad is perfection and their other menu items(that I’ve had) have always been fresh and tasty. I was kind of thrown off the first time I went and my side of bread was a slice of french loaf, but other than that I have no complaints. The line staff are always friendly. The dining area is kind of tight and is always packed so I’ve never tried dining in. The prices are good as well.

One day, I’ll be lying in a bed contemplating all the time wasted and all the bad choices I’ve made with my limited time I was alloted. It wouldn’t surprise me if the decision to ear dinner here popped into my head The décor is drab and the tables and chairs all wobble, some badly. Also a pretty bad layout(and the«deli» is understocked and is kind of sad; had I noticed the state of the case before I ordered, I might have feigned a phone call and walked out Ordered the special Greek salad with the gyro meat. Came stacked on a Styrofoam tray too high to be able to dress with the vinaigrette(not a Greek dressing, BTW). The tomatoes were pitiful, mostly white and should have never been put on my plate. The gyro meat was below room temperature. The tzatziki was bland. The avgolemojo soup was room temperature. I probably shouldn’t have eaten it, but I was mighty peckish. When it returned from the microwave, the rice was under done and there was way too much of it. Almost no chicken and the lemon which gives it its name was barely there Add in the stale bread(in place of pita), the coke which was almost all ice(empty in four sips) and this place was a real letdown

Every time I’ve eaten here the food has been served fresh and without wait. The employees are friendly and knowledgable about the menu. It’s small and clean. The desserts are out of this world. The baklava is sinfully delicious. You will not find a better gyro and the souvlaki is the best in town.

I love gyros and dolmades and all other sort of Greek foods but for me there are better options for those things in Macon. The gyros are small and it takes 2 or 3 of them to fill me up(I’m 6 foot and 175 pounds) which ends up being costly. The dolmades have been too soggy every time I’ve gotten them.

Very good food! The baba and hummus were excellent. The Gyros platters were almost too big for the plates, we should have shared one. Oh and they have nugget ice! Great quick stop.

I had the Mezze Plate special, hoummus, dolmas, olives, feta, tzatziki, pita, and choice of meat or falafel.(I choose lamb meat). The plate was piled full and excellent! The meat had great flavor, and the hoummus was creamy! Also, add curly fries and feta dip, you will not be disappointed!

On the drive home from our honeymoon, we popped into the restaurant because I was dying for a salad. I was not disappoint. The food was good, my Greek salad was massive for the price I paid! The baclava was delicious too! It was a little cramped and very simply decorated. Great road trip stop!

I had the vegetarian platter. Things that I love here include: dolmas, babaganouj, hummus, falafel, tabbouleh salad, and karithopita. Their tabbouleh in particular is one of the bests I’ve had. I always make a point to stop at this place when driving through Macon cause they never disappoint. Hole in the wall with great food! Highly recommend!

Gyros plate: bang for your buck. A plate of pita bread, topped with thin slices of lamb gyro, topped with curly fries(regular fries, unseasoned, lightly salted). Comes with two containers of tahini sauce. Lamb is flavored well. Salad is refreshing. Be sure to eat it with the light dressing that comes in a small container. Souvlaki plate: chicken is average. I like how it’s flavored with lemon. Awesome soft, fluffy rice. Falafel: really dense. Flavorful, yes. But a bit too. salty. Very low key place with disposable plates, forks, and knives that are available at the counter. Good bang for your buck for a quick, decent meal. Better than most mall food court food.
