Placed a takeout order recently and the food was pretty good – ordered the 2 meat sampler with ribs and chicken. The ribs were really good, they didn’t even need the sauces! The chicken unfortunately was very dry. But the HOTBBQ sauce was just that, which is a good thing! Based on food alone I would’ve given 3 stars, what got that extra star though was the friendly man that owned the place. This was my first time placing an order here; and not only was he helpful and patient, but he also had a story to tell! Overall I would recommend this bbq place and I’ll be back.

Oh my… best pulled pork sandwich I’ve ever had. Seriously… and I’m from Texas and have tried bbq all over the U.S. so that says a lot. Gives some of the food network joints like Chaps in Baltimore a run for their money. Did not need any sauce, it was that darn delicious! But if you need sauce, mild is the way to go. My sandwich was packed with juicy, perfectly seasoned meat. To top that off, the owner was gracious enough to greet us and ask if we needed more meat. Our answer was no… but talk about great customer service. We will definitely be back when we’re in GA visiting family.

Just bought some bbq from this place and let me tell you it’s something special. This is the real deal smoked bbq. Went with the 4 meat sampler and everything was great. The brisket is amazing and just melts in your mouth. Chopped Q has a nice light smoke flavor and is very moist. Ribs and chicken were great as well. On top of that their sauces match perfectly with the smoke of their meat, which only a real bbq artist can accomplish. Very well done and when you have barbecue like this you know the owner puts his heart and soul into it. If you want to try the bbq that middle GA has sadly been missing then give Griffins a try. You won’t be disappointed.

I need to get a camera and add some photos to my reviews. However, I must say this place is awesome. The menu is pretty basic(well, the drive-thru menu is which is the one I posted up) but who cares? They are excellent at what they do. They know their barbecue very well. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich. Sandwiches come with chips and pickles. However, for 1.99 extra, I was able to get fries as an extra side but it’s a very generous portion. Let me tell you how good it is. It’s so good, you don’t even need the sauce. The natural smoky flavor alone is enough to make you swoon. Perfect texture of meats as well. It’s not too soft(you know where it’s so moist i’ts stringy and pieces get caught between your teeth?) and it’s not hard neither(you don’t have to fight with it). It’s Right On! The sauce doesn’t come on the meat for sandwiches, you have to put it on their yourself. I find myself picking at the pieces and eating it before I even add sauce. That’s how you know it’s good, when you can eat it naked. Three sauces are offered to you… original, sweet, and hot. I always get the sweet and hot. You only get one and extras are .50 but who cares? It’s so worth it. The sauces, clearly made in house, are top notch. I am going to go back and ask them if I can just buy some sauce on a future visit. I can see this being a community staple. Right now it’s a small little shack that churns out some of the best barbecue I’ve had in a lonnnng time. They have a walk up window and a small place to sit at in front of the walk up window with an umbrella over the table. Perfect for a cool and breezy summer afternoon if you go at that time of year. I highly recommend this spot. It’s appearance is lacking but I like it’s rustic charm. Places like that almost never disappoint. I hope they continue to produce an excellent product. I once gave this place a five but now I’m giving it a three because they are always giving you burnt french fries. Update. Smoked meats are all fantastic…5 stars for the meat and kicking sauce. Mr. Griffin makes sure I don’t get burnt fries anymore. Plus he knows how I like my food packaged and everything. Talk about knowing your clientele and adding that personal touch. Customer service at its finest. Overall a solid 4 and ½ stars in my book.
