First time being here and it was really good except that the waitress/hostess asked if we needed more time and took forever to come to take our order. Food was reasonably priced so if you ever come here bring an appetite!!!

This was my first time coming here and my second attempt at finding my new favorite Korean restaurant in the area. That being said, this place is pretty good! Came in on a cold night, and was greeted with a standard warm cup of tea(standard by accounts of Korean restaurants, i’ve found) and friendly enough service. I had the dolsot bibimbap with tofu which was served with a small soup and some side dishes– all very delicious! The only thing I’m not too happy with is that we were only given 3 side-dishes, i’m so used to at least 5 or 6, but maybe this is a Washington thing, i’m not sure.

My hubby and I had the gamjatang for lunch yesterday on 10÷31÷15. It was our first time eating this dish, so I don’t have prior dishes to compare it against, but I can say it was delicious! The perfect comforting dish for this fall weather. Mmm… tons meat on the pork bones. We thought it might be too big for the two of us, but managed to eat all of the meat. It came with rice for each of us and of course the banchans. The kim chee was my fav, so fresh and garlicky. The broth had more of a beefy taste to me, somewhat similar to the Vietnamese dish, Bo Kho. I was not quite sure at first when we arrived as there was only 1 table filled at 12:30, but I trusted the Unilocal reviews. It start filling up about an hour after our arrival and I think everyone was Korean! That’s a good sign. Server was very sweet too. I will definitely return!

I ordered before reading all the reviews. I regret not ordering the gamjatang. Next time I will. Had a quick bite to eat here for lunch. Ordered the LA Kalbi and my wife had the soondae(blood sausage) hangover stew. Kalbi is hard to butcher so I’ll review this establishment off their soondae gook. While I have had the best of the best in korea, this place does a very good job. Lots of bean sprouts and soondae. Good flavors not too salty not too mineraly. Just the right amount of flavor and seasoning. It’s too bad we don’t have one of these restaurants in Bellevue. The kimchee was fresh, kutjuree style and their jjangahchee was also very good. Solid experience today.

Very authentic Korean fare, especially the soup-based items. Love their gamja-tang, which can be hard to come across(at least the better version) in the Seattle area. The owner’s(lady who also tends the counter) very attentive, coming by our table several times and refilling our banchaan and asking how the food is. Highly recommend!

Below average food. Been here many times(because they open late) and the food is never really special but hey the soju never lets you down. Actually, after a few shots the food starts tasting ok. A lot of Korean business owners fail because they aren’t consistent. Sesame leave inside gamja tang can’t be replaced with bean sprouts… Wt* If you’re out, just say so.

If I had to describe the food here in one word it would be: comforting. I came here with my dad and partner to grab some Korean food for lunch. It had been a while since I had a home-cooked Korean meal so I was craving a nice Korean meal. The place has a decent amount of tables and can accommodate for larger parties. The place offers free Wi-fi which is a plus! I don’t think I’ve come across a Korean restaurant that offers Wi-fi. The menu has a lot of your classic Korean dishes. There are a few that are crossed out on the menu so the menu is a bit outdated and needs to be updated. I decided to go with the seafood tofu soup(soondooboo) while my partner settled on the gamja tang(potato spicy soup with meat). The side dishes came out and there was a good selection, definitely more than the Korean restaurants in University District. They also give a good portion of each side dish so there isn’t much skimping. My seafood soondooboo was so comforting to eat. It was piping hot when it came out so it stayed hot throughout the entire meal which I appreciated so, so much. This is the first time I’ve seen the clam shells out and just the clam meat in. It was nice not having to use my hands to work at the clams. I found a good amount of seafood in each bite and the broth also was infused with the seafood flavor. It wasn’t overly spicy but had just enough to clear up my sinuses. Loved all the pieces of soft tofu in this soup. The gamja tang had nice, hefty pieces of meat in it with a good amount of potatoes. It also comes with a slightly bitter vegetable that is traditional in the soup. I thought they did pretty well preparing the vegetable(although my partner didn’t eat them since leafy greens are a turn off to him). The broth was also very comforting to sip and had a good kick to it. This soup would be great if you have a stuffy nose because it will surely clear that up. The potatoes were nice and soft but still held their shape. Meat was tender and easy to take off the bone. I liked how they gave us a separate bowl on the side for the bones. I think service was pretty fair for only one person in the front and I think only one cook in the back. Food doesn’t come out super fast, but if you’re willing to be patient, it comes piping hot and fresh. The lady checked up on us and was always willing to get to us right away if we needed her. She was friendly, carried conversations with us and was always smiling. Overall, I liked the place and I left feeling well-fed. This place will have to satisfy my craving for a home-cooked meal for now!

My new favorite Korean restaurant! The food is great, service is friendly and prices are right where they should be. My date and I didn’t have to wait to be seated, the restaurant is clean and the traditional Korean appetizers come out fast. All in all, delicious food, courteous service and great prices.

I saw the photo everybody uploaded on Unilocal qnd it’s look so delicious. Therefore, I came and check this place out. And turn out the food is not as good as they look. Most of them has no taste at all. I’m a fan of Korean food but the Korean food here are taste so different. They have a nice restaurant, like the decoration inside, good customer service.

Food is normally good but the service was not as good the last time I visited. They were in a rush to close and some of the food was even undercooked. Probably won’t return for a while but maybe after some time. Mainly a hot soup place but their fried chicken is very decent as well.

We stopped in on Sunday at about noon. My wife ordered tofu mixed soup and I ordered spicey stir fried squid. Our waitress immediately brought out the bachans and a pot of hot tea. Great customer service. The tofu soup and spicey squid were well prepared and superb taste. The décor of the restaurant is hip and trendy. Menus were well laid out with pictures of the various dishes. It was a good culinary experience and we will be back again.

I have returned to this restaurant since my initial review, and I feel the service has been better with each visit. Also, my family has been impressed with the quality of the food. The pork potato soup, gamja tang, continues to be the star — the broth is rich without being too spicy, and they are generous with the pork. We recently enjoyed the dogani(knee cartiledge) platter, and it was really good. It’s a solid Korean restaurant option when you don’t feel like Korean bbq.

I love korean bbq — cook your own OR bring it to me already cooked, does not matter to me as long as the marinade on the Galbi/Kalbi is tasty and the meat is charred(just a little crispy)(and a lot sizzley). I generally stick with the basics at Korean — I know what I like. BUT, I do love this place for my momma, who is always on the lookout for less-popular, more-authentic options. This place has a crazy menu of pork bone, pork blood, something called a sundae that definitely is not a sweet ice-cream treat that I’m too scared to order. Basics AND not basics, everybody wins! That and the fact I’m 90% certain we were enjoying the beats of Korean rap music last night at dinner makes this a 4 star place in my book. ennz ennz ennz ennz.

If you are a fan of Korean food, and are looking for something other than the standard fare of bulgogi/bibimbap/tofu soup, you definitely need to come here. While they do have those dishes, they have a lot of dishes that you won’t see on the typical menu. My recommendation for the adventurous gourmet(and my single visit so far) is to try the haejangguk — «hangover soup» — that comes with a variety of meats, from brisket(excellent!) to blood sausage(also great but definitely an acquired taste), or just get the one with both. I got the latter and enjoyed it — it’s good to try new things! Overall a great experience and I can’t wait to go back and work my way through the menu.

This restaurant gets an extra star by default for going outside the box of usual Korean restaurants. The food isn’t too shabby either! Korean restaurants are a dime a dozen in Lynnwood, but most of them play it too safe. All these places offer the usual soon dooboo(spicy tofu soup), bool gogi, bibimbap, etc, and its become pretty hard to tell them apart. If you want to try something different, then definitely check this place out! Yang Pyung is located in a Korean plaza on highway 99, and could be easy to miss. This place mostly survives from word of mouth. Want to know how you can tell if a Korean restaurant is good? When there’s a bunch of Korean natives eating there like this place! What I like most about Yang Pyung is the wide array of dishes that you won’t be able to find in most places. I love bunshik dishes(basically cheap, fast food style snacks in Korea), and this place offers several of them on their menu. From dduk bokgi(spicy rice cake) to marinated fried chicken, to sun-dae(blood sausage w/pig intestines… better than it sounds!). I tried their budae jjigae(basically a spicy stew with just about everything in it) the last time I went, and it was pretty tasty. Not the best I’ve had, but certainly not bad. To be fair, I’m comparing it to the budae jjigae I had while I was living in Korea. I can’t think of any other restaurant in the area that has it. If you’re a fan of sun-dae, I would recommend their sun-dae ojinguh bokkeum(stir fried squid sun-dae). It seems like every entrée comes with rice and ban-chan(side dishes), so that’s another plus. Their Hite draft beer, or soju(Korean alcoholic beverage, similar to sake) goes well with just about everything! The prices aren’t bad. The budae jjigae for example, only set us back $ 26 plus tip. It can serve about 3 – 4 people. There’s plenty of seating room, and the ambiance takes me back to when I was in Korea. Not much to say about the décor, but the place looks pretty slick and clean. The service can be a bit spotty at times, but that’s typical with Asian restaurants. Just be assertive, and wave your hand if you need something. That’s generally how customers do it in Korea. Oh, and the best part about this place? They have free wi-fi, and great restaurant hours! They’re open from 8 am until midnight on weekdays, until 2 am Fri to Sat, and until 10 pm on Sundays

This place is really a find. Among other restaurants in the same plaza like Arirang BBQ, this place has a cool mixed-traditional-modern open design, friendly service, old school crowd(bunch of old Korean men hanging out, eating and drinking soju), quick food service, surprisingly affordable prices, and delicious food. For two, we ordered a bottle of soju(at only $ 7), the beef knee/tendon soup(delicious!), the duhbukki(braised rice and fish cake soup), and the bulgogi/vermicelli soup… all that for $ 35 or so. Half of their menu is in Korean and I really want to come back.
