Nice friendly staff. Clean restaurant with a nice patio area in the back. Food is cooked to order, they also make their own tarter sauce. The breading on the fish is light and crispy so it lets the flavor if the fish come thru. I have found JoFish to be Better Than Ivars

We dined again on 3\4\16, Food was GOOD again. I had(2) fish(cod) tacos for $ 10, I wanted fries which cost me an additional $ 2.95! I can’t imagine what it cost to make those two tacos? If you order fish & chips for a premium price, you have to pay an additional $ 175 for coleslaw ! You may want to argue most people do not like coleslaw and it would end up in the trash, Would it be to much trouble to offer coleslaw to those who love it? What’s the cost of a 1\2 cup of coleslaw?

Fish is awesome and fresh cooked to order. All the items are pretty darned tasty. The staff was friendly and helpful. Service was quick and painless. They even have tables outside for dining in good weather. All in all, it was a great experience.

I found it overpriced. Food is ok but just ok. Such a casual place(semi fast food) to charge so much $. Don’t return.

I have been eating here for several months. My husband and I were in for lunch today and we ordered our usual wild salmon caesar salad. The menu clearly states in bold letters, WILD salmon. I thought it had an off taste from what we usually get and I asked what type of salmon. They told me it was Atlantic! I felt cheated and lied to and will not go back unless they change their fish to wild. Its also overpriced especially for farmed fish. I don’t eat farmed fish of any sort for health and ethical reasons and the people that own this restaurant need to stop misleading their customers. Have the decency to be honest. If you want to serve farmed fish then let people know. I would have happily ordered something else. Also the chowder is not good at all unless you like cumin. I found it offensive. Oh and the kicker is the owner was in the courtyard giving one of his employees a stern talking to. Not cool to do that in front of customers. These people need to learn to have some class.

Mediocre and over priced. You’d be better off having a Filet of Fish at McDonald’s.

Lots of tables to choose from Monday at 1pm. Good service, good food. Nice spacious, relaxing atmosphere. Enjoyed the fish tacos. Two is more than enough. Oyster sandwich was good. 5% discount when you pay with cash.

Great place. Halibut and chips was amazing. Fish was light, flaky and just slightly moist. The chips were skin on fries and were very tasty. Everything was fresh and the service fast and friendly. I will be going back to try more on their menu.

The salmon burgers are epic. The fried clams are awesome. The Captains platter is great too. One small complaint: in January of this year I heard a server(we will call him G) complain vehemently to his blond coworker that I didn’t tip bigger. He called me rude and said since he is always so nice to me I should leave more money. He must have forgotten he is paid to be nice. I dont make much money and tipped when and what i could. Since that day I’ve noticed the extra tarter sauce i always order has been consistently forgotten in the few times I’ve been in since that night… Hmmm…

Went in today to Jofish for lunch. Had a pretty big lunch crowd so it took a while to get our order, but the staff was very pleasant and the fish and chips were very tasty. Had popcorn shrimp as an appetizer with tarter sauce. Had to ask for cocktail sauce which made it even better. We really enjoyed Jofish.

Late lunch on a Tuesday. They have a very nice patio in the back. Enjoyed the bay shrimp cocktail, small fish and chips. Both were excellent. Chips not my favorite type, would opt for something else instead. But fish and shrimp cocktail were excellent. Great service, fast and friendly and attentive. $ 27 with glass of pinot and tip.

The boys and I just went there for dinner. I ordered the halibut and chips for $ 20 and substituted cole slaw for the fries for $ 1 more. My oldest ordered the kid’s fish and chips and my youngest ordered the kid’s popcorn shrimp and chips. I asked if they could get cole slaw instead of fries as well, and the server said it would be $ 1 more. We also ordered some beverages, and were looking forward to trying the reportedly homemade cheesecake for dessert. After just a few minutes the server came back to the table and said that she had been mistaken, you could not substitute cole slaw for the fries with the kid’s meals for $ 1, only the adult meals. I explained that in this day and age with people trying to be more health conscious, especially for their kids, they might reconsider that policy. If I remember correctly a side of cole slaw was a whopping $ 1.50 on the menu, so upcharging $ 1 when subbing fries doesn’t seem like a particularly great deal anyway? Certaimly the mistake wasn’t going to break the bank. We left with no plans to return any time soon. This place is not a replacement for the Shrimp Shack as posited by another reviewer. The Shrimp Shack never had a problem providing cole slaw instead of fries, and I’m pretty sure they didn’t even upcharge for it on the kid’s meals. And their service was always great. But then again, they are also out of business… Here’s a little tip from a former customer service manager. If an employee makes a mistake that might cost you a whole dollar, maybe even two, don’t make the server go back to the table to effectively renegotiate the whole order. Before the customer leaves definitely(preferably politely) let them know a mistake was made so their expectations are reasonable should they return. But don’t make the server tell the customer the deal is off over such a small mistake. The effort save a buck might cost you much, much more. Everyone knows training inexperienced employees costs money, try not to take it out on your customers. Goodbye and good luck, Jofish!

Lynden has been in desperate need of some casual restaurants with GOOD food. This is what you will get at JoFish. Great food, personable service and ambiance! Love the basics: fish and chips. The only thing I wish was different is that they were opened everyday, including Mondays. The proprietors need a day of rest too. Hands down the best restaurant in Lynden.

I’ve been looking for a good fish-n-chips restuarant ever since The Shrimp Shack closed. We ate at Jofish for the first time tonight and I have to say their fish-n-chips is very good. I got the large portion which was supposed to have 3 pieces of fish but mine actually had 4. The batter is light and crispy rather than the heavy, oily beer batter which I don’t like. The fish was firm and fresh. I ordered a glass if wine which was almost filled to the top and only $ 3.50. Definitely one of the better fish-n-chips restuarants in Whatcom County. We’ll be back for sure!

I stopped in for lunch and have never been to the area, I was very happy with my choice. I had the fish and chips, usually when lunch comes out of the kitchen as fast as it did on this occasion, a person has good reason to have fear, not the case. My fish came out of the kitchen so fast it would have put most Mexican restaurant’s to shame. My food was fresh, and tasted great, one of the best fish and chips I’ve had in my life. The staff was really friendly and the kitchen was exposed and appeared clean. A definite must stop place when in Lynden.
