Taco Shark

Taco Shark is my new «go to» place for Tex-​Mex. Taco shark is consistently good! They have a fresh take on tacos. Their ingredients are fresh and simply tasty. My personal favorite is the BBQ pulled pork tacos.

Very flavorful and well prepared tacos! I like that they offer daily vegetarian and vegan choices. The sweet potato taco was killer! Fresh ingredients and cheap. I would highly recommend visiting this taco truck, very nice people running it as well.

Now, I may be partial because they are friends of mine, but, I’d be honest if I thought their food sucks. Brought to by the guys who serve you up delicious pizza at Rivermont Pizza, this food truck is a gem in Lynchburg. Last year, these guys set up shop for lunch in the Oxide Pottery parking lot across from Robin Alexander for lunch through the spring, summer, and fall. Not sure if they’ve decided on a permanent location for this year yet.
The taco shark offers 5 or 6 different filling options for your tacos and allows you the option to customize from any of the available fillings to make your own unique taco. Tacos run 3 for $ 6.50 and you can get either flour or corn tortillas. I like the corn tortillas, but the first time I had them they fell apart leaving me to scoop the filling into my mouth using my hands. Also, the flour tortillas appear to be larger. Last year they had offerings of chicken, chorizo, steak, tofu, pork, and butternut squash. I’ve only visited them once this year, but, when I did, they had the exact same options, except they were doing sweet potato as opposed to butternut squash, I’m assuming because the squash isn’t quite in season yet.
Your tacos are made to order and as stated before can be customized. Though delicious on their own, they also offer a table with sour cream, fresh chopped jalapenos, and a couple of hot sauces. They also offer bottled water and soft drinks.
I love the butternut squash taco, very unique and a great combination of flavors. I also love the chicken taco, which combines tender chicken with a sweet and spicy blend of toppings. The tofu is not rubbery, but well cooked and actually nice a crisp on the edges. Hope to see more from these guys in the future!

The cool shark truck gets your attention, the aroma pulls you in and the unique variety of taco flavors will keep you coming back. I bet we see these guys on Diners, Drive-​ins and Dives!

This place is a gem. I got two chicken tacos and one steak and they all were delicious. The pico on the steak was nice and fresh with great flavor and the pineapple/​jalenpeno salsa complimented the chicken really well! I definitely recommend finding their location and checking them out!
