The chefs mom has a Resturant. Anyone know what Resturant that is? Or did they open another location?

I’ve been here a few times since it became Yen Hapa and have tried most of the noodle soups. The Phở is very good, but my favorites are the Bun bo Hue and the Phnom Penh noodles. In addition to the noodles, the banh mi and tacos are still excellent. Yen Hapa has quockly become my favorite place for«lunchtime soup.»

I was a big fan of Banh Mi Hero, so I was understandably sad when I heard they were shutting down. The good news: Yen Hapa — Banh Mi Hero’s new concept — is equally delicious. And their signature banh mis are still on the menu! But for my first visit I decided to venture away from my fave sandwiches and try one of the newer items. So I went with the grilled garlic shrimp vermicelli salad. The portion was larger than I expected, and I loved how the shrimp was prepared. The shrimp were covered in spices and had a slight grilled flavor.(I’m not a big fan of too much char on grilled protein.) The vermicelli was also good — but not great. I liked how the coolness of the noodles contrasted with the grilled shrimp. But the noodles didn’t have much flavor to them. I’m used to some fish sauce with my noodles in similar dishes. I wish there was some used in this dish. The service was speedy and inexpensive. I paid $ 10 for for my lunch. I’m also excited to try their phở and other soup. I’m a bit of a phở-natic(see what I did there???), and had it not been close to 90 degrees outside, I probably would have opted for this soup instead. I took a peek at the phở at other tables, and those portions are large as well. My disappointment over Banh Mi Hero’s passing has been replaced with joy for more Yen Hapa visits.

This was my first time here, and when I walked in, I already liked it. It was cozy and had a chill atmosphere and décor. We got the special of the day, mango salad, as an appetizer and Vietnamese Phở and Phnom Penh Noodles. The mango salad came as a small portion and was a bit sour, but it was good! It was different and the serving size was fine since we had huge bowls of noodles! Both dishes came out in big metal bowls. The Phở was average; its flavor didn’t pop as much as other phở we’ve had. But it was still good. The Phnom Penh was a Cambodian noodle soup, and it was really good! There was pork, shrimp, and quail eggs in it on along with the vegetables and other seasoning. There was so much flavor in the broth. I would come back to try some of the other items on their menu!

My husband and I loved this place when it was Banh Mi and were heartbroken when it closed. So glad they are back open! Banh mi is just as good as ever! New and expanded menu! Highly recommend.
