Once again, my Groupon adventures strike as my graduate student budget continues to provide limited opportunities for beauty/selfcare that I’m always seeking. This particular Groupon was for a pedi and a gel manicure. I made my appointment at 11am when given the choice for either 11 or 12. When I arrived, the manicurist showed me the manicure room and I was able to pick from the vast variety of polishes. I opted for a gray color on my fingers and pink on my toes. Tiffany took her time and we had general conversation. It was nice to be able to pick any color for the gel process. Afterwards, we moved on to the pedicure. The chair was great and pedicure was satisfactory. Unfortunately, this particular manicure did not last as long as my other previous ones. Not sure if was due to my care or if it was because it wasn’t a «gel» specific color. Once it was starting to chip and come off, getting the rest of the polish off was such a chore!!! With previous gel manicures its been easy to «peel» off basically the whole color fairly easily. This one was pretty stubborn — which could be good for longevity in some cases(if there had been no chipping). I ended up being at the salon close to 2 hours which seemed excessive(maybe just because I had other errands to run), granted I did not say I’d perfer to be out in an hour. Tiffany did give me a list of the other services at the salon which were reasonable in price. Many of the stylists seemed young and fashionable. I always trust stylist that I personally like the style of their hair and I would give this one a shot. Energy was nice. Pro — manicure room somewhat private and large selection of color Con — too far from my area of town, took a long time I hope others give this a try and Unilocal about it, because I’d be interested in other reviews. At this time, I doubt I’ll be back due is location, but I do like the model of a nail service in a salon.
