Red Hot Roasters

You would think the best part about a coffee place would be the coffee. You might think the best part about Red Hot Roasters is the coffee AND the drive through which has allowed me on many occasions to still be wearing my pajamas. While I love that aspect of RHR, and I love love love the perfectly roasted and brewed coffee, the best part about Red Hot is the people in the little red window.

Best coffee I’ve had in the city, hands down. I’ve sampled their regular roast and de-​caf and both are superb.

Red Hot Roasters is great because it is a drive-​thru! I like to order an iced coffee if it is summer, and a hot coffee if it’s winter. The lady at the window is great, she makes my coffee for me just the way I ask for it, and it is always delicious. They serve some pastries from Wilshire, and my favorite is the Brown Sugar Cinnamon Scone. Yum!

I stop here almost every morning on my way to class. Never a huge line, quick friendly service with great coffee. What more do you need? I would much rather buy my coffee from a local business than «you know who» lol

Yep, I am all about this place. Cute and fast and serves good coffee. You literally cannot go wrong. Plus, I am super lazy and love the fact this is a drive thru. No parking needed!

I love Red Hot Roasters. It is just good coffee. I don’t know what it is. I just feel connected or comfortable (although there is no reason to feel comfortable driving behind a shady looking building to pick up your coffee! lol!) or something but I do just love when I get to come by here. I went the morning after my daughter’s wedding. I had to go collect the kids stuff out of their hotel room downtown after they had checked out and left for the airport for their honeymoon. (10 days in Hawaii — do NOT even get me started! hahaha!) Anyway, I was a little grouchy after a run in with a snotty hotel clerk and still exhausted from cleaning out the venue till 2am the night before. Ok sorry, you didn’t ask for a life story here so let me get to the point. I pulled up and out popped a smiling face from the drive-​thru window asking what he could get for me today. I smiled back as I suddenly realized that after tipping the bellman at the hotel, that I had no money and I was in my son’s car where my secret stash of cash was not. So I’m pretty sure I looked a little crazy as this dawned on me and I said, «Ummm, well… I don’t actually know if I have any money» which made him laugh. His laugh in turn melted my oncoming anxiety attack and I laughed too and asked him to hang on while I dug through the kid’s car. I came up with $ 2 and some change which I held up to him and said «What can I get with this?!» He started laughing and asked if I could add a bubble gum wrapper to that and he could get me a large cup of coffee with something nice added in. He made me a miele which was perfect and totally hit the spot and I gave him all I had plus the wrapper. Now that is TOTAL LOUISVILLE LOVE RIGHT THERE FOLKS! ;)

The coffee here is Amazing! If you like an espresso done right, you’ve found your spot. Before visiting RHR I thought espressos were supposed to be bitter, sharp, somewhat watery… Hence why i didn’t like them.
The Mexican hot chocolate is AMAZING! Spicey, chocolatey, and even the espresso has a roasted/​chocolatey flavor. I believe I also got the peppermint peep frozen beverage and it is both Cute and delicious!
Drive-​thru only, no seating. WORTH IT!

After passing this place every day on the way to work I grabbed a cup of their lightest roast (large for $ 2.50)
I was pleased. The coffee wasn’t burnt and the guy at the counter was nice.
No complaints as of yet, I’m looking forward to buying some beans and seeing what it tastes like at home. Hope they have some sales: D

There is no other coffee for me. I love seeing that shiny whole bean and the smell is the BEST. When I get low, there is a problem.

This is the best idea for an independent business, hands down. Who doesn’t love a good drive through?

It’s great that this place is organic. Love to support organic local business. Sadly, the coffee was terrible. And quite expensive. We ordered 2 drinks. Both equally bad. :(

We tried this place for the first time ever this week while they were doing their special Derby promotion. The building does not list their hours, nor does the website. You have to call to find out that they open at 7AM. Being early risers we were there at 7AM but it was not open. We waited until around 7:20AM or so before someone knocked on our car window and informed us that the owner was stuck in traffic and that it would be about 5 minutes to brew the coffee. So, we drove to the drive thru and waited. The coffee was pretty good, but the mexican mocha was a little bitter. All in all, I probably would not go there again. Seems like a lot of work for a drive thru coffee.

Jackson’s Organic Coffee Has become Red Hot Roasters. It’s still a great place to get a cup of coffee. Drive thru only. Don’t let the looks fool you. It’s good.

Great drive thru spot for coffee and coffee drinks. Also home roasted coffee beans with many choices. The quality and freshness are as good as you’ll find around Louisville!
