Stop at an ATM, get cash(no cards accepted) and treat yourself to a fantastic fish sandwich. Huge portions, ice cold beer. Great burger also, but order it with your first beer. worth the wait but takes a while.

We are from out of town and went here because of the reviews. If you judge this place for its appearance, you would not give it one star. It is truly a local hole in the wall. It’s off a Main Street. The road its on has pot holes so be careful. The building sits in a clearing and looks like an oversized double shack with a large patio in front(think of the Beverly Hill Billies) it is the local tavern. But the fish. Oh my goodness. It is superb. We had the fish sandwich which consisted of a whole cod(approx 10″) on your choice of bread, and chips. Cheese was 50 cent extra. Our bill was 18.00 without drinks. The fish was fried just right in a light seasoned batter. I would highly recommend this place. It was delectable. Don’t go for ambience. Go for the fish. It’s good eating. Just a note, I am of the non european persuasion and would be cautious about visiting this establishment at night. It is in Kentucky and in a clearing. Just saying.

* The building is dilapidated and filthy. * The bartender was annoyed at me asking to substitute a side. * The fish was bland. * The fries were plain. * Several items on the menu were unavailable. * NASCAR and bowling on TV. It just isn’t a nice environment, and the food isn’t very good. Really not worth visiting. They do have dollar bills stuck everywhere, all over the walls. That was neat. So there you go. They have a neat thing. 2 stars instead of 1.

Best Fish Sandwich in Louisville. Portions are huge and the service is always speedy/no nonsense. Place is true hole in the wall and off the beaten path. Worth a trip.

Friendly service and great food at a good price, take cash only, no air but was very cool when we went in October, fish is very crispy and has great flavor in the batter

The fried fish sandwich is a monster in both size and flavor. Very consistent in quality. I have been here many times and am never disappointed in any menu item. Beer is delicious too.

Several check in’s later, I will update my review. Pass Time’s is a great hole in the wall to hang with friends for some cold beers. I have not ventured out of my usual, the Fish Plate w/fries and cole slaw($ 10.45). It is the best fish I have had in town! The fish is big enough to make a second sandwich and the cole slaw is very good as well. As much as I would like to try other menu items, I feel I would just miss out on the fish and always order it instead. There is usually only one server, and there is a 50⁄50 chance if it will be slow or busy. Just gotta take a chance. To me the only con is there is no AC. Really sucks on those hot summer months. There is a patio, so if the breeze is blowing, it’s a prefect spot.

Hidden gem in my opinion. Fried fish was amazing along with the tarter sauce. Loved the cole slaw. Food was hot and fresh. I will be be going there a couple or more times a week. Portions are great and you can’t beat the price. Love the atmosphere. Great place to watch sports, drink beer and eat some good fish.

I visited Pass Time on the evening of Thursday, July 9th. Using the other great Unilocal!reviews, I managed to find this hidden gem. I got there around 9PM and there were just a few people sitting outside enjoying bottled beer. Two men and a very attractive woman were sitting on the outdoor patio and chatted me up as I was still not sure I had found the right place. I had one of the best dining experiences of my life! The gentlemen at the other table turned out to be Tommy Pass(owner) and Kevin Underwood(owner of Underwood Cattle Company). Tommy put in an order for me and grabbed me a Blue Moon in an ice cold glass as well. I had a great evening with some of the nicest people I could ever imagine. Tommy personally walked me through his restaurant and shared the stories behind the treasures he has mounted on the walls. I know every Unilocaler won’t get to have this amazing experience at Pass Time, but I wanted to share my gratitude to Mr. Pass for a fun evening with great food and friends! He’s a fantastic man running a wonderful restaurant and I’d highly recommend you take the time to find and experience Pass Times! Thanks, doug.

This weird little place is tucked behind some buildings just outside a major industrial park. They fry some rockin’ fish though. Don’t worry about getting beat up at a dive restaurant –the locals keep to themselves pretty much.

Off the beaten path, out of the lime light, down a small hidden drive is the best way to describe the j-town location. Hole in the wall dive bar is the best way to describe the interior. Picnic tables and a covered patio that is dog friendly and inviting describes the outside eating accommodations. Cash only so bring your cash and be ready for the largest fish sandwich I’ve had. Not too breaded with just the right amount of seasoning Is what you are going to enjoy. Pleasantly surprised at how tasty our meal was. Prices are good. Chilled tarter and cocktail sauce is a nice touch. Some of the best beer prices on premium bottles available locally. We will definitely be back.

I was craving a fried fish sandwich so we decided to try Pass Time after a recommendation from a friend. We called ahead to see if our dog was welcomed on the patio – she was – so we made our way there. You have to keep your eyes open or you’ll miss it since it is located down a narrow gravel road. What a treat once you find it! I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty the sandwich was. The fish breading was perfect – not too much with a great flavor that enhanced the fish. The cole slaw was inspired and flavorful. We enjoyed sitting at the picnic tables and loved the casual, laid back feel of the place. We will be back!

Probably the second best fish sandwich in town, unfortunately the other one is not available on Fridays for Lent. After trying several church fish frys as well as almost every restaurant, we arrived at Good Friday. I looked at many reviews and decided this might be the place for Fridays for years to come. We got it to go and it was still a long wait. Place is nothing to look at, just a whole in the wall type place. The good news, all the hype was right, the fish really is as good as advertised. It doesn’t stop there the cole slaw was ok, similar to KFC. Potato salad was… maybe the best potato salad I have every had. This is a lot coming from me, since I am very picky with my potato salad. Such a simple side that is usually either a hit or complete miss depending on the chef’s take on it. From what I could tell, there was egg, celery, bacon and i don’t even know what else, but it really worked. Too bad the sides are very very small. On to the fish, huge filet enough for two sandwiches. Breading was night and light with good flavor. The fish had more flavor than almost every other fish sandwich I have ever had. They must brine the fish or something, but whatever they are doing works well. We will be back for years to come as this is second only to the Suburban Social Club when it comes to fried fish.

Locally owned Dive bar with a good fish sandwich. Beer by the bottle. Cash only. There might even be a cat wandering around. Go in and play some pool, or just sit and watch a game. Yup, they have got television. Keep your eyes peeled as you are going up Watterson trail in jtown, it’s located up a gravel driveway, and sometimes you might miss it.
