Back when I was younger, I had long, curly locks that brought me a lot of attention. My hair, like Samson, was a source of strength for me. But, like Samson, I was tricked into shearing my luscious locks and my power went away with it. For a while. It eventually came back(the power, not the awesome hair) and I had to re-learn what to do at the barber shop. Through the years, I have come across good barbers, okay barbers, expensive barbers, and scary barbers. They can be very hit or miss. So, when I find a good one, I hold onto him like Lisa Raye to a rich man. Well, I found a good spot. It’s too bad I don’t live where he lives. Whenever I am in Louisville, I make a b-line to Nai’s. Located off Westport Road, the area is homey and well-populated but not overrun. The guys(and lady) at Nai’s are all great professionals and will make you look a ton better than you did when you arrived. Lines, fades, all-arounds, clean-ups, trims… whatever you need, they can do. And, they do it for great prices. Even better than the haircut, they will fix your facial hair right. Even though I am [coughcough] years old, I have never truly mastered photo-worthy facial hair. Grooming to that extent is difficult and that’s why you need pros. Each time I get a cut, shave and shape, I’m stunned at how remarkably beautiful I am. I keed.* Some guys use electric. Some use razors. All of them take their time, make sure you get the look you want and they attend to your skin post-shave. This is vital. You won’t leave here with burn, razor bumps or ingrown hairs. Again. Professionals. Here. I wish Nai’s had a Chicago outpost. *butnotreally.
