Derby City Pediatric Dentistry

When searching for a dentist for my daughter I wanted a kids-​exclusive facility that wasn’t one of those franchises with misspelled cutesy names that get written up for adding on services that aren’t necessary. I wanted to find a dentist who actually enjoyed children and who had experience with kids. I originally settled with DCP Dentistry because the Dr. had formerly been a dentist at Home of the Innocents and since I work with that population, I figured she might be pretty good with kids. This turned out to be an accurate assessment. My daughter has been a patient here from her first dental visit as a toddler until now as a six-​year-​old. She loves to go to the dentist! She has gone with me to my regular dentist and likes them a lot, but not enough to switch. So, we will continue to happily trek it out to DCPD and will do so with our youngest toddler once it’s time for her first visit. Oh, and we have never waited more than 5 – 10 mins before being taken back for services so that is a big plus.

Very disappointed with the experience and will not be returning. Extended wait times and with a 5 year old that is not at all convient. Then when asking why I am giving numerous excuses. Mistakes were made with scheduling by the office and then we had to suffer the consequences. My daughter sat in the chair for over an hour used the restroom once and then the staff would not let her go again. While sitting in the chair for this hour the only treatment she received was gas and numbing of the teeth. By this time she was frustrated and ready to leave. She was already scared coming into this visit and nothing was done to help. And refusing to let her use the restroom was the last straw for me. This was a traumatizing experience for my daughter and we will not return.

This place is the best for kids in my opinion! It is geared towards kids and the staff is so nice, friendly and patient! I would suggest everyone, especially any family’s with kids that have special needs!!!
