Paved trail(also on to city streets) for biking, walking, running! I am most familiar with the portion that runs from the River Road parking lots for Waterfront Park(and a bit beyond…) to Shawnee Park. It is my favorite place to ride my bike(because I am SO not ready for the hills in the Highlands yet…). The scenery is nice, I love the waterfront even if it can get a little smelly sometimes. And I love the outdoor art exhibit(through Nov 2015) along the loop. My only problem/annoyance is when a train is parked and absolutely not moving at the railroad crossing on the trail… it’s a railroad *CROSSING* not a parking spot…*le sigh* But still, more often than not, one of favorite riding and running places!

I challenge you to find a reason that a paved walking/running/cycling track that circles the city, is free, and is wonderfully maintained by the city shouldn’t get five stars. One of the challenges in running is knowing how far you’ve ran. 2 miles? 4 miles? You don’t really know. You have to guess.(For the most part.) Louisville Loop? Every ¼ is marked. Get out. Utilize Louisville’s free, awesome park system. Be happy and healthy.
