Well the Owner did reply to me, he didn’t address any of my issues only said that they Have the sitting policy because servers don’t get tipped if people just sit down and she’s a single mother and he didn’t want her to be without tips, AGAIN, why wouldn’t someone tip if they were given service? A few days later We sent an older white friend of ours over. They gave her the special!!! We were beyond annoyed. We went over and spoke to the kitchen manager. Not the manager this time. He gave a 20 dollar gift card to us. We will be using it at another location of we even use it at all. The kitchen manager there did make it a bit better.

Good pizza, great location. We stayed at a downtown hotel on a very busy weekend(thunder over Louisville). After a long day fighting the crowds we wanted something simple and easy for dinner. This place was close and the wait time was reasonable considering how busy they were. Would recommend to others.

Great place, love the pizza and the bar. The servers are very nice. The«must have» is their pizza pie, which is a very thick pizza filled with lots and lots of cheese. There is a long bar and the place seems nice to celebrate a birthday or a reunion. We always order to-go.

Amanda amanda amanda!!! First off, let me tell you how amazing this waitress was. Talked to us like we were her best friends. Suggested appetizers and pizza. This was our first time here and this place was off the chain good. Food=the best Italian ove ever had. Pizza was perfect. The sauce amazing. I would suggest eating at this place if you are anywhere by it. We ordered the wings, beer cheese and cheese bread appetizers. Also, deluxe pizza and pepperoni pizza for the kiddos. Man!!! This pizza I couldn’t even explain how good it was lol

This is the 2nd time I have been to this restaurant. The first time was a good experience. This time I left still hungry. My husband and I probably are able to get together for lunch once every two weeks. He had me meet him all the way downtown today. We were able to find a parking spot on the right side of the street, close to Imperllizeri’s. So that’s where we went. My husband ordered a Italian Sub Sandwich & I ordered the Greek salad with grilled chicken. It was a little long for a salad & sandwich to come out but I gave them the benefit of doubt. The«grilled» chicken on my salad was cold, dry & tasted of microwaved poultry. We do not even own a microwave because I hate the taste of microwaved food! They brought another salad out after another TEN minutes later. With Luke warm microwaved chicken. It was still disgusting. I picked the chicken off of my salad & our server had the nerve to not offer anything else but just say she will take the chicken off our bill. I am not one to complain or get crazy over a meal, but at that point I hadn’t eaten all day so I was left with some lettuce, tomatoes & pepperoni, no bread. So basically I was left starving after a hard morning of yoga & cardio. The manager came over & asked us what the problem was. I replied it was the microwaved chicken. He acted like it was COMPLETELY normal to serve pre cooked microwaved chicken breast in a restaurant. I’m pretty sure fast food doesn’t even do that!!! I was so frustrated this meal made me literally cry out of hunger & frustration. I will NOT be ordering food there again. The gift card the manager gave us for our troubles will be spent on wine. And I’ll be sure to eat before I go there for that.

I was not impressed with this location. The service was incredibly slow for a weeknight, the service was very poor, and they somehow managed to mess up a simple single topping pizza. My wife and I were only 1 of 3 – 4 tables in the restaurant and it took over an hour and a half to get a medium pepperoni pizza. When it did arrive it didn’t taste much better than a frozen pizza. I’m not sure if it was just a bad night for them but I will not be going back there.

Stopped here for a pizza and salad… fair at best for both. Ordered a large pepperoni and it was very average pizza. Sweet sauce, but the kind that’ll give you heartburn. Not sure what kind of cheese they used but not impressed. Ordered the salad w grilled chicken, again not very good, chicken was that frozen rubbery kind. Anyway sorry for the boring review… it’s how i felt about the restaurant! Did give it 2 stars because of the decent waiter!

It is after lunch rush, but sometimes that’s when the staff of a restaurant is recovering. But not Amanda! Not only did she walk up, greet & seat me as soon as I walked in the door and took my drink order which was waiting for me when I came back from the very clean Lady’s room. Clean, clean, clean! Nothing speaks more to the pride an owner and the staff take in their life’s work than a clean place of business! The silver pizza stands shine! Sounds weird, but if the dining area & restrooms are spotless, usually the kitchen is too. Very important! I’m sure this place rocks on a busy Friday or Saturday night! High ceilings(I love these old buildings), large bar area, big screens everywhere and easy to see — nice! The meatball sub was good — crunchy toasted hoagie, spicy blended meatballs, a thin layer of Marina soaked in with melted mozzarella — sprinkled in. I tend to like a little more sauce(which Amanda quickly brought out without batting a lash) and cheese. If I’m going to eat all these calories, pile it on! But it’s really good as made. Crunch, crunch, yum… crunch, crunch, yum go the disappearing salt & pepper kettle chips. Nice thickness & crispy, with a zing of black pepper. Nice after taste! Guess what’s good with them? Yep, some of that Marina Amanda so kindly brought me! I don’t usually eat all my sandwich and chips, but these are going fast!

I cannot believe I had not discovered this place before! This is my new go-to place whenever I want pizza in the downtown area. I loved the«open» feel of the restaurant, service was good and food was delicious. Their breadsticks are to die for! Prices are good for a downtown restaurant. I went in during lunch but will definitely go back for dinner and drinks as they have a cool bar!

We had Lasagna and Alfredo. It was good but not great. The garlic bread was very good. Pleasant atmosphere but quite noisy. Good choice of reasonably priced draft and bottle beer. Service was slightly slow. Convenient location and they are open late.

Delicious pizza, make sure to order extra sauce with chicken bacon ranch pizza. Kaley is the best employee there, will take care of you, ask for her!

Make sure to get the breadsticks and stuffed mushrooms appetizers. Delicious. I would also suggest the meatball and Italian sausage pasta, the other options weren’t very good and were lacking flavor, but the sauce in the pasta, was very very good! Do not waste your time getting anything other than the original crust pizza, stick to what they are good at! Chicken wings are also a favorite of mine.

I went to Impellizeri’s Pizza for the 2nd time today and it was the best pizza I’d ever had. There was only one problem near the beginning. We had to wait a while for service and got a fantastic waitress. Then, the guy that sent us to our table said, «What would you like to drink?»; why didn’t he do that earlier? Who cares? The pizza with pepperoni and sausage is phenomenal. I even got a t– shirt for fifteen bucks. Great, great, great!

Stopped in for a quick bite before a Shania Twain concert down the street at the Yum Center. The place was mobbed by concert goers! They squeezed us in and fed us in a short time. Very accommodating place and the food was really good. Had Pasta, Pizza and Cheese sticks. It was all good!

Thin crust pizza was limp and soggy. I think they put on too much toppings. It just didn’t taste all that good. Pasta dish was OK. I like the restaurant itself, big and airy. The staff was very engaging and friendly. Large bar areA if you solo. Quick service. OK menu items. The quality of the food was lacking.

Buck off beers at happy hour. Good selection of local brew, and some yummy pie. I got a thin crust Italian sausage, olive, and mushroom. It was good, but I like my sausage in big, meaty chunks. The meat on my pizza was more like ground granules. It was still good though, just not my style of meat. I returned the next night for some live music, and no cover charge. There was a pretty decent band playing a little bit of everything. Good fun!

Great food, great service! We ordered the breadstix, recommended by our server. They were smothered in butter and garlic – amazing! We also ordered a small pizza which was loaded with cheese! Everything came out hot. Food took a little longer, but well worth the wait!

I was lured in by Zagat’s «50 States, 50 Pizzas» list, and this place delivered. To our table, not to our hotel. For starters, go with the original crust. Now I normally go against thinner-type crusts… not because I am a Chicago pizza guy, but because I love doughy, bready pizza… but this one incorporates every awesome texture and taste that a pizza crust should. It’s light and crispy, but not teeth-shattering, rock hard crispy. That, of course, is no bueno. I was intrigued by the deep dish but a minimum 45 minute wait was not going to work and I had to go back to work. It’s not like this wasn’t a work trip, y’all. Load up on toppings because they load up the ones you order. Go big or go home, right? Oh wait, this is Kentucky, not Texas. Their sausage was the hit of the pizza. It’s not the big sausage patties or huge chunks like most places; rather, it’s finely ground up sausage and covers the entire pie. I haven’t been able to find sausage done like that since way back when I was a youngin’ at a local place to my parents’ house. So good, I swear to you. I spied another group chowing down on breadsticks and know that, if I return in the future, I will be adding that to my list to order. Carb city! But don’t make the mistake I did. Get them. If anything they’ll soak up all the bourbon you drink later. And don’t skip out on a salad. With all the carbs and greasy goodness flowing through your mouth you need to veggie up a lil bit. Under $ 50 with tip for 3 salads, 3 beverages and a one-too-many-toppings pizza. This place is huge, be social and get out if you’re passing through. Oh, and they play good music, too. All in all, delicious, inexpensive, and just plain good. Factoid. Don’t let the haters fool ya, this place is GOODSTUFF.

I frequent this place when I go to concerts. It’s a great value and great tasting. They have PBR so that’s a plus too. I’ll keep going back here too. I went Wednesday night before Selena Gomez and got the coupon off of their website for a 2 topping large pizza, 2 side salads and breadsticks. The kids both got sprites and I got a PBR. The total bill was $ 23. You can’t beat that.

Oh, thinkin’ about all my younger years, when it was really only me and I was young and wild and free, Impellizzeri’s was Louisville pizza heaven.* This was the late ‘80s, and Impellizzeri’s was located on Bardstown Road and still operated as a butcher shop in the mornings. You still had the meat freezers and meat cases, and the seating was limited to a few tables but, oh, the pizza was soooo good. Overflowing with toppings and generally so filling you could only manage a slice before having it boxed up for take home. That was Louisville pizza to me, far more so than John Schnatter’s good, cheap but simple delivery/take-out version located not far off UofL’s campus. I would take that memory of Impellizzeri’s with me to whatever pizza joint I happened to pass through. Impellizzeri’s was the best. Twenty-five years later and we’ve all gone through some changes. Louisville has its fair share of pizza places now, all with their distinctive styles, and Impellizzeri’s is no longer that little pizza place off Bardstown Road. After disappearing for some time, and then reappearing with the surge in unique restaurants in the Ville, Impellizzeri’s now has 3 locations, all in high traffic, trendy areas. But it’s not the same. Not what I remember. Each location is nice, this one along Whiskey Row is large and stylish, but the food is not quite the same. A worthy effort I think but not the best pizza I’ve ever had. That was sometime in my youth. Alas, I guess you can’t go back again. Sigh. *Apologies to Bryan Adams and the lyrics I mangled.
