Terrific little coffee shop. We stopped here while waiting for breakfast. Great feel and atmosphere.

The coffee is good. That’s a given. It’s Heine Brothers. I judge coffee shops based on how study friendly they are. Most people you see in coffee shops are studying so why not write a review based on that. This Heine is about as study friendly as they come. There’s always a table for me to study at, the tables are big enough for me to sprawl out on, plenty of plugs so my laptop won’t bite the dust, the tables are spaced out far enough where I feel like I’m not on top of anyone, there’s a couple long tables for big study groups, free wifi, and you get to drink delicious coffee while you hit the books. What more could I want in a place to study.

This place has a nice atmosphere located in the Springhurst Village shops. Not being a big coffee drinker, I still enjoyed a cappuccino and baked treat. We had a nice chat in the patio seating area. I liked that they had some non-coffee options on the menu. Will visit again.

Great caramel vanilla cold coffee, especially necessary on an 80+ degree Kentucky, hot sunny day!

Wide open spaces. And that’s hard to come by in many coffee shops around. However, this location feels so roomy and open in comparison to others. Tables are perfectly spread apart and despite the entire place being one giant square, it feels like there are 4 distinct nooks you could choose to camp out in and do work or have a meeting. It’s not a destination in and of itself for me living in the Highlands since Westport Village is just a little bit out of the way, but it’s a nice spot to stop in for a cup of joe or Yerba while doing any errands in the area or hitting up some of the shops out there. Tip: There’s a front and a back door here and personally I always have luck finding a parking spot on the back end of the shop.

Ok, been in Louisville almost 1.5 years and 1st visit to this chain which can be found all over the great city of Louisville. I must say what a change from the typical Starbucks atmosphere. So calm and peaceful, not crazy noise and coffee grinders cranking in your ears. Pleasant music choices very mellow as in Mellllooowwwww :) at the perfect background volume not over powering at all. So many tables to chose from and the furniture way way more comfortable than Starbucks. You can actually have a conversation in here and be able to think at the same time, or make a phone call without everyone on the other end asking«where are you? What is that noise» as they do when I am in Starbucks. Coffee is very mellow and also not over powering. I give it high marks, rarely do I ever give a 5 star, so no offense for only 4 stars with all the great comments I make. Now I must try the other locations to get a feel for the consistency of the operation then could easily go to a 5 star rating.

I’m usually in and out just for my cup of joe. This location is very dark inside and there is plenty of space and tables. The staff is friendly and quiet.

Came here on a blustery winter day. Barristas were very friendly, and made a good cup of Java. The space here is adequate, with comfy chairs

I wish I loved this coffee shop. And I do, almost, but I just don’t love their coffee. Everything else is super cool — the location, atmosphere, local food and pottery, and fun stuff in their gift shop section. And I love that they serve fair trade coffee, I just don’t think it tastes good. I’m sure I’ll be back at some point, just not for the coffee.

I was sorry that La Vida Java couldn’t make a go of it, but I hope Heine Brothers will fare a bit better in the Westport Village location. Same high quality, fair trade coffee you are used to from Heine Brothers, but way closer to my house. The furniture and no hassle free wifi have greatly improved this as a studying destination for me. If proximity to my house isn’t a strong selling point for you, then order a cup of tea. Watch the care with which they prepare the tea bag, and set the timer for the ideal degree of steeping based on the type of tea you ordered. These guys know their beverages.
