I had no idea this place existed until I saw it listed as part of the Goose Island Bourbon County event series in town. Being a fiend for Bourbon County stout and variants, I had to find out where it was. And it quite literally is a bridge, located on a walkway above Fourth Street Live. I normally avoid Fourth Street at all costs, but this place rises above(get it?) some of the dreck there. It looks nice, especially with the barrel motifs on the side of a big bar. They offer lots of Goose Island beers, naturally, which is a solid counterpoint to the Bud Light and crap they sling at most Fourth St joints(did I mention I never go there?). There are TVs and picnic-style tables as well. I’m not sure how much people will be hanging out here, especially during the colder months as it is mostly exposed to the elements. But if you’re at Fourth Street for some ungodly reason or just in the area, it’s a spot where you could grab a decent beer or two or three.(Especially when they have Bourbon County!).

My boyfriend and I were not sure if this place even existed because we couldn’t find much information about the place online but we were determined to check it out and I’m glad that we did. I have only lived in Louisville for about a year and haven’t been to 4th street live and to be honest really didn’t have a desire to venture that way. However, when we found out about this cool beer garden’ish beer bridge that served Goose Island Beer on tap we were excited to check it out! This place is really cool. It resides in the bridge area that hovers over 4th street. The décor is very cool and the tribute to Goose Island beer is not over the top and cheesy but nicely done. Obviously the beer on tap was delicious but seriously over priced, but I guess that is what you get when you go out on 4th street. The bartender was really friendly and stated that this bar particularly picks up the older crowd who don’t like drinking Bud Light and want a more classy/less rowdy 4th street experience. They don’t serve liquor, only Goose Island beer on tap and a few guest taps. I did see a few bottles of wine so I’m thinking they may serve that too. All in all, it had a classy cool vibe unlike many of its surrounding bars/restaurants. It would be a great after work happy hour spot and I would definitely come back. They do serve food but we just went for drinks. You should check it out!
