. The worst, and most argumentative, staff and servers I have encountered. I ordered an Ice Tea, of which they brought. I asked for a refill and was told they were out of tea, as in, didn’t have any brewed. This was at 6:30 p.m. on a Friday evening. Right in the middle of regular dinner hours. They told me that after they run out of tea, they don’t /won’t brew any more for the evening. What… this is crazy! I said, whatever, I’ll take water. No problem… wrong. When I get the bill, they had billed me for the tea. When I said something to the cashier he started to remove it from my bill. Before he had finished making the adjustment, another employee and my waiter walked up and said the tea was a valid charge because, he said, it states on the menu that the employees don’t have to give more refills, at their discretion. WHAT? I have eaten at this very restaurant many times and have always ordered tea, and refills, and from the same server, with no issue. They refused to remove it from my bill. I said, fine, I will pay it, which I did. I told him I was leaving NO tip and that I would NEVER return to his restaurant, which I haven’t. That’s been more than a year ago and I’ve not been back. In fact, now, I even avoid their whole chain of restaurants. In other words, that $ 2.25 tea has cost the restaurant easily two-three hundred dollars in revenue from me alone over the past year. People, that’s the way to do it… cut off the money. Hurt them where it counts… in the pocket-book. VOTE with you dollar. .

Terrible. Chile Relleno tasted like wet bread with cheese inside. Not crispy at all. Ground beef in the taco was so wet and greasy, the shell disintegrated. 20 oz margarita was just cheap mix, and no booze. Don’t get another, or you will have wasted your money. I have been to a few Mexican dives in town, some with pretty good food. Avoid this one. It sucks.

Highly disappointed. Yet again. This used to be a favorite place of mine since 2006 but the take out gets worse every time I take another chance. This time I ordered a nacho fajita and it was probably the last take out I will order from here again.

My boyfriend and I always said that this place could have great food and we’ll never know, because we will ALWAYS pick El Mariachi right around the corner if we are in the area. I ended up coming here because you can lead a group of my coworkers to Iceland for a team outing, but you can’t make them eat decent Mexican food. I briefly suggested El Mariachi but I was fighting an uphill battle since most of these people say El Nopal is their favorite Mexican food place. I can’t fault El Tarasco for the service we received because ten of us descended on them unannounced for lunch on a weekday. There was only one guy waiting tables, seating people, and processing payments, so I’ll forgive any hiccups in that area. However, this food is like a monument to mediocre. I didn’t try the mild table salsa because one person in our group described it as tomato sauce, which was warning enough for me. The hotter salsa did have some heat, but it was nothing remarkable. Most of us got lunch specials. I ordered carnitas, and that was a decent choice. The flour tortillas that come with the dish were actually pretty good. They were taco sized, thick, and chewy. I realized after we got our food that they come with flour because there isn’t a corn tortilla in the building. The girl across from me got a taco a la carte and it was in a store bought shell. It was all I could do to keep from recoiling in horror. My friends that ordered chimichangas were surprised at the size; they were not much bigger than my fist and about the same shape. I’m not advocating burritos as big as your head but they clearly used they same flour tortillas that I got with my carnitas. Maybe they use larger tortillas at dinner? In any case, no one was impressed. This cured my hunger and nothing else, and I try not to eat many meals like that.

We went because we had limited time and were in a hurry and wished we would have gone to one of the other two Mexican restaurants in the same plaza. Lets start with the salsa it was so watered down there was no taste and basically tasted like tomato soup. Then the meal came for our party of 9 at random different times for each person and some were wrong. The only other complaint was the staff had a very limited understanding of English and so when asked for a drink refill or check we would instead receive a refill of chips or water. Will not come back to bad food and poor staff.

Great little hidden Gemm in an unsuspecting little strip mall. Quaint and Warm little charm inside. Good food and great value. Chips were fresh and 2 neat types of salsa.
