Pretty decent barbecue. Portions are kinda small and expensive. The staff was super friendly and relaxed and professional. For the same price there are better barbecue places.

Like a lot of the other recent reviews, we noticed that this place had gone downhill. We ate here a couple of weeks per month because of kids eat free on Sundays, but stopped eating here pretty much throughout the fall. We decided to go back today and see if things had gotten better, and we were pleasantly surprised that it had! It was clean, the employees knew what they were doing and were polite, the food was ready quickly, and everything tasted great. Good to see they got through their bumpy patch!

The brisket I purchased today at the Louisville, Colorado Dickey’s was absolutely terrible. So chewy it was unedible. What a waste of money. Also, when I was ordering the meal, the employee dropped the meat cutting knife on the floor, picked it up and was about to use that same knife to cut open the plastic wrap around the brisket. I said, «you got to be kidding, you can’t use that knife you dropped on the floor». He apologized, and then used another knife, but if I hadn’t noticed, he would have used the one off the floor. He also was not wearing any plastic gloves. I don’t think the health department would give this Dickey’s a good rating with their sanitation practices.

Worst service ever. Came in with kids and was completely ignored. Stood in front of the order counter for about ten minutes before just giving up and leaving. I would give this place a negative.

We usually order our BBQ from Lulus but today they were closed so instead ordered take out from Dickies. We ordered 2lbs of pulled pork, rolls, slaw, cheesy potato and onion rings on an Internet order. Everything was ready for us to pick up except the onion rings as the staff did not want them to go soggy. So we waited for them. That’s okay. They put everything in our bag and we went home. At home we found that they did not put in the onion rings in the bag. We waited for them and they still forgot. I tried to call several times over a ½ hour and no one would answer the phone so I am still without a refund for the missing rings. As to the food, we got 6 super small rolls of poor quality. They’re like wonder bread in texture. Probably loaded with high fructose corn syrup. The meat was bland and mushy in texture and we did not get enough BBQ source for 1lb of meat let alone 2. The slaw and potato were okay but again nothing special. I may have rated this place three stars but because they missed items and that we can’t get hold of them they get 1 only because we can’t give them 0.

We have had good Dickey’s experiences at this location and Fort Collins before but they dropped the ball. We are considering calling the health dept. it was so dirty. A customer returned cold Mac and cheese while we were in line. Employees were eating, texting when reheating Mac, and didn’t wash hands or use gloves. They had flies and fruit flies everywhere. The pork on sandwiches wasn’t hot either. Out of regular BBQ sauce to boot. We threw out 75% of our food and left. Will return to speak to manager later. They are hiring but inexcusable experience. Oh, they were out of chicken and ribs if we wanted those too. Lack of any management or systems to keep clean and execute a not that busy location.

Best Dickey’s in Colorado! Other Dickeys are too tight with costs. In Texas you get one or two free rolls. At most Colorado Dickey’s they nickel and dime you unlike in Texas.

It seams they have changed management a few times. Over the past year they have been very good, and a lot more consistent. I find myself coming here more and more often. I do enjoy the flavor of their meat and sauces. We have gotten catering a few times and it has always been very good.

Great for take out or dining in. Large portions and good food. My kid loves the free ice cream! They are remodeling with wood paneling and it has a great smoke house ambiance! The sides are great — lots to choose from and the actually have dairy free choices too.

SIX($ 5.95) dollars for three ounces of green beans. Repeat after me… do not order sides. Do not order sides. And, the container wasn’t filled to the top. One more time… do not order sides. Give them a year if they keep shorting on sides(and they don’t make their own sides… they buy everything except greenbeans and slaw). Yuk. Why bother.

This is to BBQ what Burger King is to a good hamburger, chain produced mediocrity. I had the beef brisket which was very dry and lacking true smoke taste. My friend had the chicken and it was even drier than my brisket. The youngsters working behind the counter are just slinging food and have no concept of customer service or how to prep and present real BBQ. Even though Dickey’s is closest to where I live I would drive a little or a lot further to get some Wayne’s or KT’s or even Lulu’s BBQ before I eat this food.

I came upon Dickey’s on accident a few weeks ago and was very surprised how delicious everything tasted. I had pulled pork with sides of greens beans and mac n’ cheese. It was so good. I cant wait to come back here again!

I honestly can’t remember the last time that I had such a poor experience at a restaurant. My husband, son, and I stopped in for lunch, as Dickey’s is one of my husband’s favorite places to get BBQ, and he had been given a gift card for Christmas. We entered the restaurant at around 12:15, and after waiting in line, placed our order, and our receipt was time stamped with the time of 12:28. The total for our order was $ 24.30. My husband ordered meat by the pound, which is something that he does specifically since he strongly dislikes pickles and onions(the garnish that is typically served with the combo plates), and the meat by the pound has always been served without these garnishes– it’s just the meat in a container. Anyway, we waited 20+ minutes for our food, at which point I went to the counter to ask where it was, and was told it was just about ready. When the food came to our table, the meat was garnished with pickles and onions. If it hadn’t taken 20+ minutes for the food to come out initially, we would have just asked for the meat to be re-made, but as it was, we were headed to a friend’s house and were running late– we didn’t want to wait any longer. I decided to ask for a refund instead. For whatever reason, the refund seemed to be exceedingly difficult to process. The cashier was nice, but there seemed to be trouble getting the money refunded to the gift card. After another 10+ minutes, the cashier told me that the money should have been refunded on the card, and that I could call the number on the back of the card to check the balance. As we drove away from the store, I called to check the balance, and was told that the card had less than $ 1.00 on it(it was a $ 25 card, and we had spend $ 24.30, so it seems like it likely just had $ 0.70 on it, and the money had never been refunded). I called the store, and the cashier told me he would work on figuring it out, and I gave him my phone number and the gift card number. He called me back and told me that if I came back to the store, they could give me a cash refund for the order. I was already too far from to store to return at that time, but we did go our of our way to stop by later that evening to get our refund, as I had no idea if this whole incident would be forgotten if we waited for another day. When I got home, I opened the envelope, and there was $ 23.79 in cash– to add insult to injury, it wasn’t even a complete refund. So, the net of this Dickey’s experience was that between visiting the restaurant, and driving back to the restaurant, I wasted well over an hour of my time, I never had a bite of food, and the whole experience still cost me $ 0.51. As I said, it was overall truly the most abominable experience that I have had at a restaurant in recent memory– I don’t think I’ve ever been so inconvenienced to spend $ 0.51 for which I received nothing. Dickey’s has always been one of my husband’s favorite restaurants, and I can’t believe how poorly this entire situation was handled, and I’m thankful that we were refunded cash and not a gift card, because we will be thinking long and hard before we go back to Dickey’s again. I also followed up with Dickey’s by providing this information on their«Talk to Dickey’s» link on their website, indicating that I would like to be contacted about this incident– I never heard from them.

I ordered the two meat plate. I got barbecue beans and a Caesar salad as my sides. I got the chopped beef brisket and pulled pork as my meats. That chopped beef brisket by far was better than the pulled pork. The pulled pork was really dry and had kind of looked like it wasn’t fresh in my opinion. The sides were okay-nothing special. I enjoyed the original barbecue sauce and the hot and spicy but the original is better my opinion. I do like that you get to keep your cup. If I were to return again I would only get the beef brisket.

I had really low expectations of Dickey’s, but it really wasn’t too bad. It’s probably on par with or slightly below Brother’s. Food: I had a 2-meat plate with polish sausage and pulled pork. The sausage had a nice smoky flavor and the pork was moist, but not very flavorful. They only have 2 sauces– spicy and original. Neither are bad, just average. My side of mac n’ cheese was very bright-orange cheesetastic and the fried okra was actually really tasty– big portion, too. I liked the roll, as well. I cleaned my plate. Service: Friendly enough. They warned me away from a wet spot on the floor, cleared my plate and called me Miss. Atmosphere: Probably the only real negative for me. There was just something weird about the set-up and the TV was on a bit loud. I also couldn’t find a napkin, which is pretty essential at a BBQ joint. All-in-all, I’ll probably go back someday. It’s close to me and fried okra isn’t available just anywhere.

I order the kids meal and it is plenty enough food for me. the spicy BBQ sauce is excellent and its always dead so I never have to wait. I love the free ice cream it taste great. A lot of people give this place a bad review, but for me it’s close to my work and the food is hot. I am not much of a meat eater, so I usually just go for the sides. I would not drive out of my way to eat here either.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again– just because BBQ exists, does not make it good BBQ. Granted, the meat is usually moist, the sauce is ok, and I love the potato casserole, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for Dickey’s. I can get much better much closer to home. But, if you’re tired of burgers or sandwiches on your lunch break, this would be the place to go. I have to agree with Marc D– the staff(and management) has been known to turn over here pretty quickly.

Ok, so maybe I came during an off-day, when it seems as if there were two poor souls running this entire place. We came for lunch and the line was backed up pretty much out the door. The guy who took our order overcharged us a couple of dollars and our food came out all mixed up. Bad service aside, the food was pretty decent. I opted for the pulled pork sandwich plate with mac n’cheese and baked potato casserole as my sides. The pork was amazing-delicious, flavorful and very tender! It comes dry, but they have two different BBQ sauces to choose from. Now, I asked for no pickles, but pickles came on it anyways. Seriously-who likes pickles on their BBQ? EW! The sides were so bland. I’m not one to salt my food but I had to here, since it lacked any sort of flavor. The ice cream cone at the end made up for it though. My quest for really good BBQ in Denver continues.
