The Courtyard Marriott Northeast is exceptional for a couple of reasons: Customer Service: The entire staff is not only friendly, but go above and beyond to make sure that my new hires have a great experience in their hotel. I host training in their conference room monthly and they make the experience enjoyable for all of us. Adaptability: When I need changes made at the last minute, they are good about being honest with me while going above and beyond to make the last minute changes happen. Value: The pricing for rooms is competitive and more importantly, you get a staff that is more valuable than the competitive price. Jay and Kim(the managers), and Roxy(sales) along with their teams(front desk, kitchen, maintenance and cleaning staff) are all smiles and are very efficient. I don’t do a ton of reviews, but the experience here has been well worth it!

Maybe a 2 star review will get their attention. I have stayed here during the week and had a pleasant experience — friendly front desk staff and a standard Marriott room. The weekend is another experience entirely. Unsupervised youth yell in the halls and party in the rooms at all hours. «Security» is a bad joke. Staying over the weekend? I suggest staying somewhere else.

I’m a bit torn on this hotel, but if you are there during the week, it is a good business hotel. Pro’s: + Location– It is located in sort of a handful of collection of «strip» mall style of businesses. You are extremely close numerous chain restaurants or within a ~5−10 minutes drive of other mainly chain options + Renovation– This hotel was renovated over 2 years ago, but the renovations have held up well. They still feel new and not dated. + Internet– love it or hate it, it is tiered and you pay for the higher speed. *If you have high enough status, this is comped + Bistro– also a love/hate thing, but at least they have branded Starbucks coffee, drinks, and machine. There is also comfortable seating, with power plugs, if you need to meet with coworkers or get any last minute work done prior to heading into the office or to the airport. Con’s: — Noise– So the walls are thin. Especially if you end up by the elevators, or you have a bunch of idiots on a sports team who don’t know how to act. — Night time noise control– Look, I travel enough and know that certain brands hotels attract sports teams, i.e. college, high school, etc from varying sports, but if there are multiple issues, at continuous hours of the night and nothing is done, don’t be surprised if one checks out early. Being reassured that the team is leaving doesn’t makeup for a crappy night. Some additional training might need to be done to fix this issue. Overall, as a business hotel during the week, it’s not a bad deal.

Terrible customer service. I’ll proceed with caution before booking with any Marriott again.

The Room: A california king, facing the window in a very suitable Feng Shui style. The room was very classy albeit small, but what room isn’t? The Price? Expensive. $ 119+ on a week night or special promotions for weekend, I’m seeing $ 71+ right now for weekends. Anything Else? There’s a Starbucks in the lobby and a nice bar with food options. There’s a pool, hot tub and a small gym area. Also a place to wash laundry is available across from the pool room. Wifi is free! Yay! Overall Opinion: Expensive. I don’t need all the frills, but it was very clean. The pool was small and the gym area small as well. This is a very nice place to stay if you want a getaway close to home and a little romantic evening.

Was in town for a tennis tournament at an indoor facility nearby so this was a perfect location and the tournament’s special rate was very reasonable. Hotel was clean and the front desk staff very welcoming. Skipped the $ 9.99 breakfast and walked to the Panera 100 yards away instead. The hotel is behind a huge shopping center so there are plenty of dining options. Movie theater is walking distance as well, as is a Liquor Barn. The exercise facility was modest but functional. I was always in there by myself so had plenty of room to work. Obviously, if you want to be close to downtown or the University of Louisville, this is not the right location for you. But for a nice suburban shopping location, this is recommended.

I’ll preface this by stating that I am a Hilton guy. I travel frequently for work and have grown to love the simple comfort offered by Hilton’s Hampton Inn brand. I don’t need anything fancy, but a quiet place, a comfortable bed, and a decent continental breakfast make for a good hotel stay. That being said, I recently spent a week at the Courtyard Marriott in Northeast Louisville for a company training program held on-site. As such, I got to spend a lot of time at the hotel and see their conference and catering services in action. They did a fine job of catering to a group of about 25 of us, exceeding my expectations and making me reconsider my loyalty to Hilton. As part of a group, we received free breakfast coupons and free drink coupons, so I suppose that helped. The breakfast was good for the free price, but had I been one of the unfortunate souls who had to pay $ 10 a day, I probably would have dined elsewhere. The meeting room was good and the lunches and snacks served by the catering group ranged from good to just okay. The rooms were comfortable, the facilities were clean. What put this one over the top was the staff. They really did a great job of making us feel comfortable and catering to a sometimes rowdy group. While a new restaurant and bar are planned in the near future, they currently offer a wide variety of beer at the front desk. Finally, while the facility has a small fitness center on site, the best perk we received during out stay was, without a doubt, the daily membership passes to the Louisville Athletic Club( ). It’s small perks like these that really set a property apart in my mind.
