Amazing place! Large windows that look out onto a sweeping view of the ocean. It’s a 30 second walk to the beach. Helpful friendly staff. Complementary wine, breakfast and coffee. Cute sleepy beach town. We loved our stay here and are coming back.

You get what you pay for. The place is reasonably clean, although the fan over the bed was so filthy I never turned it on. The room was very cute but had seen better days. It had a very nice size sitting area with a couch and a little table and chairs. The bathroom was OK, but we had to use the edge of the wainscoting to place our toiletries because the only other areas available are the top of the toilet and a tiny cabinet in the corner. What was most disappointing was the service. We arrived and had to ring for the innkeeper, he gave us our keys and asked if we needed assistance finding our room, who wouldn’t? That was it. We asked about breakfast and wine and cheese and he answered our questions and nothing more. That same evening we asked about recommendations for dinner and he wasn’t very helpful with that either. On departure day, my husband turned in the keys and a lady said, «You’re all set». No questions about how our stay had been, nothing. Breakfast at La Palapa is all right, but you don’t get to meet anyone and you must be prepared to wait as there is only one cook and one waitress on the good days, sometimes the cook does it all. Frankly I wouldn’t stay here again.

Our first visit, staying in the ‘Blue Room’. Even though the room is quaint and very reasonable, it’s a dungeon. We suggested to the clerk that the room description needs to be updated to very specific about the lack of light and the fact that the only window is blocked by a tall fence. The clerk could have cared less about our suggestions or our displeasure. We didn’t care about the no view, but the dungeon feeling does not make it cozy or romantic.

This inn is super cute. The room is roomy and comfy. Pretty good price considering it is coming w a full breakfast right next door at La Palapa. Definitely recommend it and will be back when we are in the area.

This is our second visit to the Baywood Inn. The Inn keeper was very welcoming when we arrived. Tea, coffee, cookies and candy was on hand in their office Our room was cozy and comfy and clean. Refrigerator, microwave and coffee supplies were also in the room. They had complimentary wine and appetizer before dinner. Although we had to go across the street to a café for our breakfast it was still very good. We will surely try to venture there again.

My rating for this place is 3.5-stars. Baywood/Los Osos is a sleepy little town. Two cars going opposite directions on the road constitutes rush hour traffic. And the Baywood Inn B&B is right in the middle of it. For location alone, this place is pretty nice. Directly across from the water. The Baywood Inn B&B appears to be constructed from a former office building. Like the kind your dentist might be in. As a result, some of the touches of a traditional B&B(style, interaction with other guests, a homey feel) are lacking. This is pretty much a sophisticated motor lodge. Each room appears to be styled to a theme. We stayed in La Provence. I have three issues with the room. One, the heating and cooling system seem non-existent. There is a temperature control on the wall. But for the life of me I don’t know what it controls. There are no venting ducts in the room. The windows are covered with oversized horizontal blinds. As a result, they let in a ton of light at night. Especially since there are lights outside lighting the paths(like in an office building). Bring an eye mask if you are anything but the heaviest sleeper. The bathroom is starting to show age. Our toilet paper holder had completely pulled out of the wall. And it looks to have been this way for some time. The tub drains slow. So be prepared to stand ankle deep in water if you choose to shower. And the wallpaper is peeling off the walls. Wallpaper and humidity don’t go together anyway. But their solution(and I witnessed it myself) was to put clear masking tap over some of the joints. On the bright side. Our room had a mini-fridge, a microwave, and a coffee pot. And drinks(water, gatorade, and Pepsi), as well as some light snacks, were restocked every day. These were complimentary. A complementary wine/beer happy hour, as well as included breakfast, were offered next door at a Mexican restaurant. They’re used to seeing guests, but it still felt a little weird leaving the B&B and going to someone else’s place of business. And then feeling obliged to tip on that service. The food was very good. But if you stay more than a day or two, you’re going to want to be a fan of high calorie Mexican food. The only other thing the inn could use is some outdoor space. There are two garden chairs stuck in the grass. But no other place to gather, commune, or otherwise hang out. And sometimes, that’s the nice part of a B&B. Meeting and chatting with other guests. Overall, just fine. But you need to weigh the cost of your stay against«just fine.» For me, it doesn’t quite add up.

Truly disgusting, dirty, mildew/musty, noisy, outdated… room is like a scene right out of Miami Vice. I can’t believe they have paying guests!!! Nothing would make me happier than 100% refund, and erasing the stay from my memory. Stay far far away from the«Manhattan» room.

I really would have liked to rate this better. As a matter of fact we were here at our anniversary the last two years. This year, however, was disappointing. Partly our fault, as we didn’t reserve the room we wanted in time, and it was booked. The room we got was nice, but it had an «invisible» coffee table made of glass that I banged my shin into more times than I could count, a hard, uncomfortable bed, and an uncomfortable couch. Wi-Fi, though free with the room, was inadequate. Kept losing connection. Add to that the contract for breakfast had changed and instead of having an option for the tasty little café across the street, we were told the breakfast was«trough style»(open hot pans of food to serve yourself) at the not-so-great restaurant next door(La Palapa). The fact that troughs are used to feed animals — pigs, particularly — was not lost on us after trying it. Sorry to say, we will certainly check out where breakfast is permitted«free» before booking again, so as not to pay for one we most certainly won’t use. Perhaps we’ll stay at the establishment across the street… Or another town altogether. Another reviewer from 2014 stated there were breakfast vouchers for three or four other restaurants… that could be used for whenever… well, if that was still the case, they’d get more stars. And more return visits.

2.5 stars. The rooms at this place are themed. We stayed in the Briar Rose room on the ground floor which had a view of the parking lot and the bay across the street. As you’d guess, the theme of the room was roses. It seems like this«bed and breakfast» is a former business office complex that was converted into an inn. It’s a little worn around the edges but generally in good shape. Rooms are priced well. The Good: — Free drinks and snacks provided in the room — Free breakfast provided at the restaurant next door — Complimentary wine hour provided at the restaurant next door — Front desk staff and housekeeping were excellent(although we were told the delightful woman at the front desk was leaving) — Good wi-fi connection The Bad: — When we checked in we were told the carpet in the room was just cleaned. We stayed two days and it never completely dried. While I appreciated a clean carpet the room had a dank smell our entire stay and we had to keep our shoes on otherwise our socks/feet would be damp. — The floors in the room above us were old and EXTREMELY creaky. The fact that the people staying above us apparently liked to pace a lot was very annoying and did not aid in relaxation. — Walls are thin. We were privy to most of the conversations of the couple upstairs.

Somebody wants it known that baywood is a neighborhood in the town of Los Osos. Los Osos is near Morro Bay, which is a town and a body of water. This is a lovely inn, you should definitely try to get one of the courtyard or garden rooms. The end.

* INDIRENEEDOFREMODELING * * NOT A BEDANDBREAKFAST * * I HAVESTANDARDS; THEYAREN’T HIGH * * DISAPPOINTEDTOSAYTHELEAST * * If a business has less than 30 – 50 reviews, they could be fake or friends of the owner. * i have never given a place we’ve stayed 1 star. but i must let you know the TRUTH. i was reading all the other 5 star reviews and thought that the other Unilocalers must not have standards… NOT A BEDANDBREAKFAST can’t believe they claim that they are a bed and breakfast when they don’t serve breakfast. sure, you get vouchers to nearby restaurants. but they are just a BED(no breakfast). we walked in to check-in to our«bed and breakfast». there were girls(teenagers) who obviously worked at the inn who were just sitting there in the chairs. would have been nice if they had gotten up when customers arrived so that the customers could sit there with their luggage. it took quite a while since the people in front of us requested that they split the check on different credit cards, etc, etc. checking in really shouldn’t have taken that long. then we walked upstairs to our room. it had a musty, old smell. they need to change the carpet. it is TOOOLD. fine… at least AIROUT the room. i don’t mind dated décor for its«charm», but it was not comfortable. i was reading a rave review about how it’s the best place ever… NOT! she wrote that it was like 80s martha stewart threw up in it. got ONEPART right, it smelled like there was past vomit. you could also hear the plumbing from others’ rooms at all hours. so if someone uses the shower at 6am, you are likely to wake up. my husband said that the mini fridge was so noisy that he kept tossing and turning throughout the night. there is someone at the desk until 8pm. after that, the phone gets transferred to the owner’s cell. at around 9pm, we heard SEVERALSHARPNOISES like a fire alarm. it went off several times intermittently. we called the line but no one picked up the phone. we wanted to know if it was a fire alarm or what it was. left a message. no one ever returned our call. BREAKFAST we had two options: back bay café and la palapas, but really it was ONLYONEOPTION. la palapas was supposed to open at 8:30am. by 10am, it was still closed… they have DVDs that you can borrow. you can make coffee/tea in your room. they provide a microwave and mini fridge in the rooms. there is complimentary water, popcorn bags, bars. but to me, it didn’t make up for the oldness of the place. WECOULDN’T WAITTOLEAVE. literally ran to our car after returning the keys. NOTETOOWNER: spend some money to fix up the place a bit. maybe they are used to the musty smells of the carpet. invest money back into your property!

We stayed here two nights and loved it. Comfortable and friendly. We were never around at 5pm, but they apparently have free wine then. For breakfast you get vouchers for a few nearby restaurants. Good Tides is apparently closed for good, but The Back Bay Café breakfast was great. We tried going to La Palapa for breakfast on a Saturday morning. We sat down, but no one came out from the kitchen. After about 5 min. we left and went across the street to Back Bay. Two other groups did the same thing.

This was a really disappointing visit. We have stayed at the Baywood Inn before but this time it’s become really apparent they aren’t interested in investing back into their Inn. We stayed in the Blue Ribbon room which had junk(old bedframe, old bed head broad, pieces of wood, etc.) right outside our only window. We knew we weren’t getting a bay view room but we didn’t know our view would be of their discarded junk. Also, the window’s screen wasn’t on so we couldn’t really open the window without bugs entering the room. The bathroom vent was out, the wall paper is peeling, one electric plate was broken in two, leaving a hole in the wall and the electrical outlets are so loose, anything you plug in slips right out. Also, there are suppose to be 3 restaurants to chose from for breakfast as part of the bed n’ breakfast theme. One was indefinitely closed, one we were told opens when they feel like it leaving us with the Backbay Café which was unimpressive. I have been visiting this Inn for the last 10 years and this is the first time I don’t want to come back. I would hope that Management would make some kind of effort to make this right for us since we paid top dollar for this room.

This place was fabulous and I didn’t even take advantage of all the cool things they do. So it’s obviously a B&B. Yet they don’t have a kitchen on site, instead they give you vouchers for like 3 or 4 other restaurants that you were probably going to go to anyway because they’re right around the hotel. Meanwhile the vouchers are good for whenever, which is great because my wife and I are not morning people and I don’t want to get up at 8am for merely an okay breakfast. This time around I got to sleep in and order food that I wanted as opposed to what they just had lyin’ about the place. So each of their rooms have a different theme and you can take a tour of all the different vacant rooms and see what it’s all about. We didn’t, but it seems like a cutesy folksy thing to do. And they also have a wine and cheese happy hour so to speak. We didn’t partake in that either as we were visiting friends the whole time, but any time your gettin’ boozed up and it’s included in the price, how could you go wrong?!? Exactly, you can’t. Meanwhile, we stayed in the Victorian room and the room was huge. There was a sitting room with a TV and a seperate bedroom. Extremely spacious and extremely clean. They also provided free water, gatorade and some snacks to take with you as you go out and hike about Los Osos. The bathroom was large and the shower had great pressure and fancy bath gels, shamppos and conditioners. Not to mention it’s right across the street from the Ocean. You open up the door to some really great views. I can’t wait to come back and the price is extremely cheap for what you’re getting. In big cities you can pay 3 times as much for half the room and none of the amenities. Give it a whirl if you’re in town, you won’t be disappointed.

Stayed here Halloween weekend 2013. The staff was super friendly, very accommodating and very helpful. They have complimentary snacks included in the room along with cable tv a fireplace and a kitchenette. The view during sunset was something out of this world. At night the stars shined bright, something I’m not used to coming from a bigger city filled with light pollution. Overall, a great stay, a great time and a great little city to be in.

Clean, new. Local restaurants provide breakfast, but did not deliver. The breakfast was«OK». Not the best, not the worst. Television stations have something to be desired. No TV in bedroom. Used band aid on top of shower frame. Paper thin walls; can hear toilets flush above and adjacent. Not bad for an overnight. Dinner options walking distance: 2 Mexican joints; «OK».

Best. Place. Ever. Cannot recommend it enough. From the moment we arrived, we received excellent customer service. Upon entering the check-in office, there wasn’t anyone at the desk BUT there was a button clearly marked to call the receptionist. Once we rang a young lady showed up and gave us our key. Complimentary pastries available upon check-in. Our room was amazing! It was like 80s Martha Stewart threw up in it.

This review is based strictly on Baywood’s customer service. When booking the room about a month and a half prior, I had a very pleasant email conversation with Maria S., the manager, about which room she recommended for our stay. It was nice to have such personalized service in this day and age and I was looking forward to our visit. We were staying in Santa Rosa before our visit, and the day before we were supposed to check in, we got the dreaded call from my mom, who was staying with our kids, that our youngest was sick and had to be taken to urgent care. We were packed and headed home in under an hour. I called Baywood on the way to cancel our reservation, knowing full well that we’d be on the hook for one night’s charge with such short notice, but when the kids are sick that doesn’t mean much. However to my pleasant surprise our reservation was cancelled penalty-free. We appreciate Baywood’s kind understanding and customer service, and look forward to visiting them in the hopefully near future.

Nestled down in a quiet, clean, coastal community stands this thoughtfully converted office building that is now a very inviting bed and breakfast inn. Traveling with my dad on a business trip, we opted for a two room suite. This worked great for us. Separate bathrooms and bedrooms made our stay very convenient. The room was well equipped, comfortable and offered excellent cross ventilation(we enjoyed the fresh ocean air for the duration of our visit). The afternoon reception was a little odd because we had to walk over the to the Mexican restaurant next door. That was awkward as we were the only people there. Highlights: –Parking was excellent –View of Morro Bay was outstanding –Relaxing area featuring nice, contemplative views and walks –Morning food vouchers for nearby café/bakery was nice –Staff was friendly but difficult to locate at times –Room was very clean, however, our room(Tex Mex) could use a paint job –Nice HDTV’s in room with free DVD’s –Free and VERYFAST WiFi(6k down, 1k up) Overall this was a very enjoyable stay. Will definitely come back again soon.

My husband and I stayed here for our 5th wedding anniversary. We stayed in the Queen Victoria suite which is truly charming. It is quite roomy, has lovely furnishings and is complete with a small refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave oven. There were complimentary waters, juices, coffee and snacks included. We could see the water right from our room. We received food vouchers for 4 different restaurants, one which is immediately next door to the Inn, La Palapa. We ate breakfast twice at La Palapa. We also had a late night take-out dinner from there one evening. The food was excellent. Jose was our server all three times and he was wonderful. The suite was very clean. Everything about the Inn appeared to be well maintained and the staff was very friendly and efficient. The only thing other than perfect is the walls are rather thin. One can hear their neighbor if they’re on the loud side. We were on the first floor. The people above us had an unhappy child which didn’t go well with the«romantic» atmosphere we were trying for. Fortunately the situation was corrected after a short time and the rest of our time there was wonderful. I look forward to going back!
