Hubby and I stayed here this week for my birthday. I had no idea this place was right in town in Los Olivos! I love this quaint town! It’s tiny but there is so much to do and see. Hotel is comfortable, clean, convenient, quiet, and quaint. AAA rate made it doable. Our room had a cozy fireplace which was perfect. Hubby headed out for an early morning bike ride up Figueroa Mountain Road which is just at the end of the same street. I stayed in bed next to the fireplace! Breakfast at Petros was really really delicious: Homemade Greek yogurt with honey and berries and perfect waffles and berries. Hubby had a Bloody Mary with breakfast(post ride) and said it was the best he ever had! Got two free wine tastings at Fess Parker too! We will definitely return. Highly recommend!

I’m hesitant to review because i don’t want this secret to get out! Fess is amazing in every way! Elegant, private, great service, fantastic spa services, wonderful food, beautiful location, etc. My wife and I come once a year and it is always special. we are also wine club members, which is very useful. they give a lot of great perks, including discounted room rates. this is not your average place to just drop your bags, it is a special place to stay! Also, regarding the review that mentioned the locked bathroom for guests only… yet another reason this place is so private and a pleasure to stay! When I’m not staying at Fess and we are just wine tasting on Grand Ave, we use the designated public bathrooms like everyone else. Thanks again Fess. See you next year!

Wonderful place to stay when visiting Los Olivos, While it was the most I’d spent on a room in quite some time, our room was spacious, clean, and had a wonderful view of the Main Street in Los Olivos, Also the fireplace was great for those cold wine-tasting nights. Free WiFi too! Another benefit of staying there is getting access to the best bathrooms in town. For some reason Los Olivos isn’t keen on making public restrooms, weird given the amount of fluids taken in by visitors.

Los Olivos is a small town, and we go up there occasionally to eat dinner at Petros, or just wander through town. The last time we went through, there were signs everywhere in the resort that restrooms are for guests only, and they put a lock combo on the doors. Seriously? I like the vibe of los Olivos, but not the attitude of this place clearly. There are other bars and restaurants that will get our business now because of the way the hotel ownership chose to treat the overall town and its«guests»

Loved the hotel. It was a fantastic stay. The room was clean and roomy. The amenities were perfect. You can tell this place is family owned just by the way everything is done. We did a special package that included dinner and wine pairings. It was amazing! The food was great and the wine perfect. The staff were all friendly and inviting. I do not have even the smallest complaint. If you are in the area I would HIGHLY recommend staying here.

Excellent stay here, absolutely beautiful room, and am rating this mainly on the room — Number Fifteen. Most rooms are unique in size, shape, view, and price, coincidentally like a bottle of wine. Unlike a bottle of wine, our room’s price doubled for a Friday, weekends are naturally prime time in Los Olivos. This is on the upper level on the SW corner of Grand and Hollister — until we got there we didn’t realize, despite scouring reviews, that this is the building across from the ‘main’ hotel. Number Fifteen, while appearing smaller on the floor plan, is quite ample for two, with a corner sitting room below the lightning rod cupola that houses a ceiling fan. Plantation shutters open to the morning sun, this room has excellent natural lighting. Visiting after summer’s heat broke, we left the windows open to the first of the cold nights while out to the town’s restaurants — so we could turn on the gas fireplace upon returning. Well insulated from any noise next door, though the bed is close to the door and therefore the other doors on the floor, though this isn’t the place where there’s coming and going at all hours. Though if you do wander out and come back in the late morning or early afternoon, the maids may be attending your room. In which case there is a passcoded bathroom in the main hotel building. «Public» restrooms in Los O are a row of portables. We also walked in on turn-down service one night — which scared both us and the maid! Turn-down can be scheduled for any time. We declined it for the last night. Still looks fresh from what I assume is a recent remodel, with a mix of a large contemporary glass tile bathroom [Fifteen is shower only] and more traditional bed and sitting room décor [watch your hips on the chair railing ends in the dark]. My wife loved spending an hour in the empty gym after sunrise, I just did the robe/coffee/plan the day/what’s on morning news thing. Complimentary breakfast… After one morning with a strange Eggs Benedict I played it safe with eggs over easy and toast. Weekends seem to have better preparation. If you’re hungry — you can order as massive an amount as you wish. Complimentary wine tastings at Fess Parker and… Epiphany… especially Epiphany, excellent.

This place is magical for sure! Stayed with my husband for one night on a Thursday so it wasn’t super busy. Room was clean, bed was super comfortable. Loved the central a/c and fireplace in the room. Pool was nice and has complimentary water and a keurig for coffee/tea. Breakfast was included and was delicious! Service was top notch. Definitely recommend for a special occasion as it is very pricey and there really isn’t a whole lot to do in los olivos but shopping and wine tasting. Didn’t like the lack of phone service everywhere but the fess has an internet code. Other than that, you are out of luck so keep that in mind. Definitely try the onsite restaurant not only for the breakfast but either lunch or dinner. Everything we had there was yummy!

A star for each $ 75 we spent for the room! Top notch, of course. Great service. Tiny but cool infinity pool. Spotlessly clean, comfortable, classic room with nice touches, like books! My first room ever with central air, so the temperature was constant(usually the air is on until it is cold, then turned off until it is hot). The bathroom had that recently cleaned bleach smell that a German housekeeper finds as sweet as a rose.

My husband and I just celebrated our one year anniversary in the Santa Ynez Valley and stayed at the Fess Parker Wine Country Inn & Spa in Los Olivos. This was the perfect place for us to celebrate and get away from the city. Los Olivos is a very small country town that has loads of charm and everything you need for a weekend getaway. It has become the ‘Tasting Room Capitol’ of the Santa Ynez Valley because there are more tasting rooms per mile than anywhere else in the area.(30 in a 5 block area) So if you are looking to try many different wines and not worry about driving from winery to winery then Los Olivos is your spot. The Fess Parker Inn seems to know its clientele well.(read — monied city-folk) The hotel is spacious, very clean, extremely well decorated and appointed. Because, like the town, the hotel is so small the staff tries to be accommodating to every guest. Included with your stay you receive breakfast each morning and multiple tasting coupons for Fess Parker Winery, Epiphany Tasting Room and Tessa Marie.(All wines in the Fess Parker Family) I suggest you use all the extras provided to stretch your dollar. The pool was lovely, serene and very relaxing. Big band music played through speakers and there are areas to get sun, or not, depending on what you’d like. The area where we had our complimentary breakfast is their restaurant, Petros, which we were very satisfied with. We did not eat there for dinner as I wanted to explore more of the little town.(We ate at Sides Hardware & Shoes(good) and got a drink at Mattei’s Tavern(super cool). I would highly recommend the Fess Parker Inn for a getaway. It is perfectly located in the valley to explore the area in the day(or stay in town and hop from tasting room to tasting room) and enjoy some slow time in the country. We searched extensively and this looks to be the best hotel in the Santa Ynez Valley. …I hesitate to even write this last part… BUT, here I go… It seemed that because of its rural location most employees are locals. That means that they haven’t spent their lives in hospitality services and therefore aren’t experienced in dealing with demanding diva behavior that some guests exhibit. I saw one employee visibly shaken when someone was complaining rudely. Moral of the story — don’t be a diva and it won’t be an issue.

If you are looking for a romantic place to spend with your significant other… this is the place. The staff is absolutely amazing. Very professional and polite. The rooms are beautiful. Very modern but has the elegant and feeling of a beautiful home… and not a hotel room. The pool is also a must. The spa is even better. The spa staff is worth what you pay for. We enjoyed the morning spa treatment. The breakfast is a 10 plus. I could not believe the freshness; freshly squeezed orange juice, delicious coffee and amazing tasting food. Another benefit of staying at this resort, is free wine tasting at their own vineyard. Absolutely a must! You can’t beat the tranquil scenery and beautiful Vineyard countryside. We have never been wine tasting. Very friendly and low key. Beautiful shops in the area. Town is active from 11am to 5pm. Weekends I’m sure is very popular.

This place is absolutely stunning. In the midst of wine country it is such a gem to find a luxury inn like this. All of the details are beautiful. The pool and cabanas are gorgeous. The rooms are spacious, tasteful, and having a working fireplace is so beautiful and romantic! Nice roomy bathroom and shower. I loved this place and can’t wait to come back! We had breakfast and an afternoon snack at the hotel and everything was delicious. Save your pennies though… the nightly rate, like the hotel itself, is a bit extraordinary.

Exceptional customer service! My boyfriend and I celebrated our one year anniversary here. The service was excellent. We enjoyed our stay very much. The reason why I gave them four stars vs five is our dining experience. We had dinner at their restaurant and were disappointed with the food. The complimentary breakfast was delicious though. Aside from that everything was awesome! The location is phenomenal. It is on the strip where you have several blocks of wine tasting bars/rooms. When we arrived to our room, we had a nice hand written note welcoming us to the inn. Two days after our stay we received another hand written note via mail thanking us for our stay. Definitely a great way to service their clients.

Wonderful place to celebrate our first anniversary! Where’d had a great time, the room, accommodations, and service were perfect. We had a nice relaxing dip in their pool after a few local tastings. The room was a 10/10, very cosy and relaxing. Their complimentary breakfast before we departed was excellent! We are definitely coming back!

My husband and I fell in love with Los Olivos many years ago. After staying in Santa Barbara several times, we decided to stay in town at Fess Parker. Best decision ever! This is our second stay and both suites(Parker & Ephiany) have been beautiful and luxurious. Staff is fantastic and service impeccable. Food is top quality, and parking is no problem. Will continue to return and highly recommend!

Beautiful ambiance and wonderful hospitality. Only stayed long enough to enjoy a glass of wine when passing through on a tour but it was worth the stop!

Beautiful Inn-friendly & courteous staff, clean & well decorated room next to the pool. Comfy luxurious linens, bathtub & shower were relaxing. Great personal touches like the note & even a complimentary bottle of wine for my boyfriends birthday! Food at Petros was wonderful & definitely worth a try at least once. We enjoyed the local wine tasting rooms and glad our room was only steps away. Drawbacks: kinda pricey, our room door was noticeably dirty(didn’t make a great first impression), the bed was too soft for us & the air con blew right over our bed making it hot and cold throughout the night. But they gave us a discount at checkout so I appreciated that. Finally, to our disappointment my boyfriend experienced racism from another guest. I guess she didn’t know Mexican American men who offer to pour a woman’s coffee at a coffee station are gentleman not staff, or out to hurt them! Don’t let stupid people detour you-Fess Parker Wine Country Inn & Spa is a treat.

What a treat! My wife and I stayed here in beautiful room number 8– like a palace, the suite of the Inn. The bed was soft, the two fire places blazed at the flip of a switch and the all the couches and chairs were so comfortable. My wife loved the sauna tub, not sure the type, but it had a hundred little air holes at the bottom that blew in the air to make the sauna effect. It was great, although I didn’t go in. I preferred the ridiculous shower with the wall mounted shower heads at waist and chest height– How awesome, with the rain shower head too. We walked around and drank wine and had a great dinner. We ended our visit with a delicious breakfast from the greek on site restaurant. It was truly a tasty eggs benedict! The staff were great and our stay was the best of our trip up the coast– another family tradition coming on at this place!
