More than time to update my review. Food is consistently awesome, and we’ve been back tens of times. Never disappointed. A favorite.

This may be my favorite brunch joint of all time. It’s definitely a 5 star kinda of place, I can say that much! We go out to brunch practically every Sunday and frequent Los-Gatos Café for there herb-potatoes, giant cinnamon rolls, jet fueled coffee in streams and fast/friendly service. One of the best restaurants in downtown LG and a staple for many locals. Check this place out and call ahead to reserve because everybody knows it’s awesome!

Stopped here while out shopping and everyone in our party of four left full and happy, including picky hubby. Gluten free pineapple coconut muffin was so good(even if you are not a coconut fan), blueberry pancakes, kids burger, omelette and quesadillas — all plates were completely knocked back. Blueberry smoothie was tasty and not too sweet(3 of us tasted it all enjoyed), Cinnamon role — holy cow — we scraped the butter off the top as quickly as it came just to save the extra 1000 grams of fat and calories, but everyone tasted the cinnamon goodness and loved it. This is a great place for a diner brunch especially considering the reasonable price!

I brought a party of 7 for a Birthday breakfast last Saturday and had a wonderful time… The wait was about 20 minutes but they give you free coffee so that was nice. Upon being seated we had a wonderful waitress and staff who always made sure our waters were filled. They san my daughter happy birthday and brought her a nice cake with a candle on it. The food was very good I myself ordered the Santa Cruz which was super yummy… The parking was good and the area very quiet which gives it that home feel… Upon checking out a nice young man Tyler was the cashier. Instead of just taking our money and saying nothing, He asked how our meal was and to remind me to wish my daughter happy birthday. I thought now this is customer service and with a smile(you gotta love). We’ll be back for sure since we normally go to the North Santa Cruz location. Great food, service and atmosphere.

I use to love Los Gatos Café and I would come here very often. Unfortunately due to the extremely bad service that I received from Nora early this afternoon, I don’t think that I will be returning. I order the ½ turkey sandwich special which comes with both soup and salad. The lentil soup and salad were delicious. But when Nora delivered the ½ turkey sandwich to the table I was shocked to see that it had not one, not two but FOUR pieces of cheese melted onto the bread. I asked Nora if the kitchen wouldn’t mind remaking the sandwich. Nora’s rudeness and lack of tack in handling the complaint was unparalleled. She told me that if i wanted another sandwich she would have to charge me for another meal and if I didn’t want cheese I should have said that. I wanted cheese but not 4 pieces on ½ a sandwich… Finally Nora brought the sandwich to the kitchen to be remade, but when she brought it was it was less than desirable or edible. The chefs basically scrapped the melted cheese off destroying the bread so when I picked it up to eat it the bread was falling apart in my hands. Not to mention the bread was incredibly greasy from the 4 slices of cheese. This is not the first time Nora has been my server and provided sub par service. Seriously get it together Nora, you work in customer service.

Came here for brunch after a hike and ‘twas delicious! The service was great! It took 7 minutes for french toast, a chorizo scramble and an eggs benedict. I repeat, 7 minutes! Though, beware, we called ahead and asked how long the wait was and we were told there was no wait. Which we thought was funky for a Sunday brunch, but didn’t think twice about it and came rushing over. We got there and to no surprise, there was a wait. The hostess were a bit rude about it, but we got seated within 30 minutes — which wasn’t too terrible!

Went here purely on Unilocalers reviews and glad I did. The soufflé omelette, awesome, the seasoned potatoes, awesome, hollandaise sauce awesome. Everything my husband and I had was in a word, awesome! Why the four stars? Very loud and we were sandwiched in so tight that we had to move the table in order to get out. Also, pepper shaker was empty. I know these aren’t major issues, but did make it a little less enjoyable eating this great food.

While this place is good, it doesn’t measure up to the original location. Our entrees tasted a little blah and lacked seasoning. I had the Eggs Benedict Cordon Bleu(chicken, ham, swiss cheese) and it was really disappointing. The usually delicious english muffins were extra soft and soggy this time and the chicken was also super dry. I couldn’t finish anything which made me really sad. I always finish my food! My friends’ crab cake also looked like a sad soft pile of mush. But of course, the portions here are always huge and the potatoes are always tasty. ANDTHATCINNAMONROLLTHOUGH. It’s a must order!

After getting a recommendation for this place through a fellow Unilocaler, I decided to go check it out during my lunch today. I came in at about 12:10 and it was quite busy. I guess all the Brunchers were just finishing up their meals and leaving, while us lunchers were headed in for the nomz. We placed our name on a list and were seated within 5 – 10 minutes as the people who were there for Brunch started to leave. I love Benedicts when it comes to Breakfast foods and Los Gatos Café definitely has a huge variety between the Benedicts. My heart is set on crab cake benedict, so I ordered the specialty crab cake dish with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce and fresh avacado. I was expecting it to come atop an English Muffin, however, it didn’t so I ordered a side of English Muffin for an additional $ 2.50. The hollandaise sauce is AMAZING and the eggs are poached to perfection. Like many other reviews here, they definitely did not skimp on the sauce, and I love it! With this dish, you’re able to order either a side of the herb potatoes or the grits, I was a bit confused so I ordered the grits instead of the potatoes. Ooops, that was my mistake. However, the grits were just not my cup of tea, no points docked off for that though. The crabcakes are pretty delicious, but a bit too salty for my taste. They use real crab, which is really surprising because I wasn’t expecting that. The entire dish was very rich and creamy but it just wasn’t what I expected. I also tried my friend’s french toast cinnamon roll, which was amazing! It was a HUGE portion and it just tasted so good!!! There was a nice crisp to it and an amazing fluff. How they achieved that? I have no idea. I don’t know if it was due to the rush or what, but our server seemed a bit upset. The hostess was super friendly and accommodating, but our server never really smiled at us, so I felt a bit meh about the service. I would come back to try other dishes! But this review is more focused on the crab cake benedicts and how they didn’t exactly meet my expectation. There is definitely potential in this being my new favorite breakfast/brunch joint, but who knows what the future holds?

You can expect a short wait. Much like you would with all must-go-to breakfast cafes. Customer experience is remarkable, always greeted with a smile, as oppose to the pouts you typically get at a busy and understaffed café. Table service is great. Frequent checks on water and requests. Food… its a lot! I can never finish my meal and usually have enough to bag home. That Corned Beef Hash though!!! A must-try for those that haven’t done so already.

I came here for brunch with my friend after hiking, and we were really glad we picked this place! Despite the many tables inside, there was about a 30-minute wait since it’s quite popular. The inside has a homey feel to it, with plenty of natural lighting. I ordered the gorgonzola scramble with a side of carrot walnut bread(most of the scrambles come with a side), and my friend ordered the special scramble with the enormous cinnamon roll as a side(a few dollars extra but so worth it!). The roll was a dense, rich, moist bundle of delicious carbs. Even the inside was flavorful and moist. They also serve it with a big pile of special butter, which was flavored(couldn’t tell what though) and had a whipped texture. The gorgonzola scramble was so fluffy and yummy, and they were very generous with the cheese and veggies in it. The walnut bread was also delicious and I’d recommend it as a side. The service was wonderful and everyone was really considerate and attentive. Will definitely be back!

My favorite brunch place in the South Bay! Hands down. I either get the chicken Apple sausage Benedict or the corned beef hash Benedict. Both are so good… the hollandaise sauce and the potatoes… I’m drooling just thinking about it. I love the potatoes here! Perfectly crispy and they always give you a lot. I don’t order anything else here but I’ve tried the carrot cake and the Cinnamon bun(huge)…both are great but the bun gets super hard after like 10 minutes. You’ll find me at Los Gatos café at least once a month for brunch. There’s always a wait but I’m a morning person and drag my friends and family with me at the crack of dawn so we never wait too long. They don’t mind once they see their food ;)

I love greasy spoon diners, but this place is not really anything special. The food doesn’t have a lot of flavor. Still, a place with so many different kinds of Benedicts is kind of fun. I also appreciate how easy it is to get your coffee refilled here – It’s just the american diner way :) So, to summarize: solid, but unremarkable.

Great for families to come here? Yes because it’s inviting Food? Large portions, but messy and not so delicious. The Cinnabon was the best thing here. I would only come back for that. Otherwise, not the best breakfast joint

California Eggs Benedict… are the Bomb!!! Have been coming here for as long as I can remember, and I always get the same thing. ALWAYS. The coffee cake is delish too. Service is quick, food comes out fast… you’re never sitting there with a cold cuppa coffee, or empty glass of water. Love this place!

If you are looking for a great breakfast combo, this is it! I love the Eggs Benedict’s here. They have so many choices to chose from! Pancakes are yummy as well! They are thick and perfectly made with fruits of your choice. This place seems to always be busy every time we come but it’s definitely worth the wait. It varies from 10 to 20 minutes easily on a busy day but there’s a lot of wating benches outside to sit and chill. My only disappointment was the orange juice. Why is the orange not freshly squeezed?! I just don’t get it because this definitely seem like the perfect place for a fresh squeezed orange juice kinda place. Breakfast is just not the same without the fresh squeezed OJ. If you don’t care for OJ, breakfast is the bomb here!

Service improving 01÷09÷16, my wife and I got seated at a booth for capable of seating three. Today 12÷6÷15 waited just shy of an hour so I went in to see what the hold up was I was told my party of 2 had to be seated at 2 person tables only. I pointed to the party of 2 at a table for five. The hostess said that was when we were not busy. Now anyone that has ever eaten here knows between 9:30 and 11:30 its a zoo. This hostess is frankly full of shit. I left and will not be back tell this rude lying hostess goes back to McDonald’s!

A very busy breakfast establishment with delicious food. The menu consists of breakfast and lunch options and the portions are large. Egg soufflé omelettes are awesome. They are soft and fluffier than a regular omelette. The guacamole omelette had a generous dollop of guacamole and it was covered in melted cheese. It comes with a bakery item and a side of grits or potatoes. The potatoes are soft on the inside and crispy and flavorful on the outside. I did not even feel like I needed to cover them in ketchup because the potatoes were so tasty. The grits are served with butter and they were ok. If I had to choose between the two sides, I would say that the potatoes were better. The fresh squeezed orange juice was ok, but I would probably order another drink next time over their juice. Overall, Los Gatos Café is definitely a breakfast place that I would recommend. There is plenty of parking and the service is quick. I would like to come back and try the other breakfast options and the hot chocolate.

Love this place! I go here every two weeks for breakfast. There pancakes and waffles are amazing. Service is great and parking is super easy. Just be prepared for long waiting for 30 minutes in the AM to get a table. This place is a popular Los Gatos and highly recommended!

Had the Belgium waffle sandwich, comes with eggs(your choice prepared), bacon or sausage and the small 8 inch waffle, which was of ‘ok’ quality and taste. I asked for my eggs sunny side up with a side of sausage. The eggs were indeed sunny side up, yet of the smaller variety; the sausage was of general quality. $ 13.95 is kinda spendy for ‘ok’ food. I will go back to give this place another try. The coffee was merely ok. $ 2.50 Customer service: very good Parking: easy.

Next stop on the flavor train is comfort town or a little place called Los gatos café. This is straight up down home cooking. Each plate is enough to feed you, your niños, and your niños’ niños. Line is always long so I suggest putting your name in ASAP. Their turnover though is pretty fast. They are known for any of their benedicts, apricot French toast, and the sinful cinnamon roll which is as big as a small rhinoceros. I had the Irish Benedict which came with corn beef hash, poached eggs, and hollandaise sauce. Probably one of the best corn beef hash dishes I have ever had. It was cooked perfectly, not dry and leathery like some other places. Also each dish is served with their herbed potatoes or grits. Also apparently I’m a five year old but I decided to order the hot chocolate. As much as I was laughed at, I was the one that had the last laugh. It was smooth, rich and topped with a whole lotta whip cream. Soooo if you are into that type of thing, I would get it.

By far, they have the largest brunch menu I have ever seen. Benedicts alone, they have, I wanna say, 15 different options. Speaking of benedicts, they are my favorite to order. Always a perfectly poached egg and they don’t skimp on the hollandaise. Comes with a side of breakfast potatoes. They also have egg souffles, which is similar to an omlette, but fluffier, waffles, pancakes, french toast, etc. Their bakery items are also super fantastic. Comes fresh form the oven, fluffy and absolutely delightful. If you ever get their cinnamon bon, expect it to be as large as your head. However, you have to eat it while it’s hot, otherwise it gets stale as soon as it cools. There’s always a crowd unless you come at the buttcrack of dawn, BUT the wait isn’t that long, considering the service is quick. Very friendly waiters and waitresses. Prices are decent. Thumbs up all around.

Worst service ever. I hate bashing a place for its service but honestly the worst. Being overlooked too many times to the point where I had to stand up to get attention. Honestly not ok :(and I am not a demanding customer who keeps calling, I just wanted the check and get my togo order. Won’t be back to this location again

Los Gatos Café is a place you decide to go and try when 1. you’re SUPER hungover, 2. you’re in need of food SUPER early(like 6 am before ANY other decent restaurant is open), 3. you need something greasy and fast. This place is ok but I’m not entirely sure why there’s so much hype. There’s always a line on weekends for breakfast and yes, the food is good but it’s pretty damn expensive(1 omelette, 1 eggs Benedict, 2 coffees = $ 45!!), it’s cash only(!! would have been nice to know that before we sat down), the food is exceptionally greasy, and the service… I mean, maybe it was because we got there when the doors opened at 6 am, but the woman who helped us was anything but happy to be there. Coffee was burnt. Eggs were clearly sauteed in grease, butter, lard, olive oil, and a little more fat for good measure. That said, it was good but not the health-conscious type breakfast I would expect for Los Gatos dining. And the restaurant was pretty dirty. Grimy actually.

I was skeptical at the looks of Los Gatos Café but my wife starting going here with my kids and she told me the place was well run with good food. That’s a good combination. We showed up on a weekend just before noon. We had no trouble parking, which I guess is the upside of a location in an otherwise boring(i.e. lacking any real semblance of charm or personality) old and tired grocery anchored shopping center. Upon our arrival, I was worried about the crowd outside waiting to be seated but the Café turned the tables quickly so we really didn’t have to wait long at all. I think this Los Gatos Café reads sort of like an upscale more local Denny’s or diner. The menu is extensive, focusing on breakfast and lunch fare, which makes sense given they are only open 7 – 2:30. That part I don’t get, by the way — why have a restaurant if you’re not going to do a dinner service. No wonder they have to turn over the tables quickly — you need to push a lot of volume in a short time to pay the rent if you’re closing in the middle of the afternoon. Nobody is winning a Michelin star or a James Beard award here but the food was definitely well prepared, as advertised. I loved the Benedict selection, even if I ended up with the traditional variety. I wasn’t thrilled with the potatoes which were bland and underseasoned, but the benny itself was just fine. One of my kiddos had the grilled cheese and the other had the French toast — both were pleased with their selections. My wife had the patty melt, which was ok with all the fixins but the hamburger patty itself was totally without seasoning — a little salt and pepper in the meat would have made it much better. My mom and dad had sandwiches they both liked — one had turkey and the other had the BLAST. It is surprisingly hard to find sprouts here in the South Bay — they were my favorite element of the half sandwich I had left over the next day.

A tiny café next to Nob Hill in Los gatos. I went there only for lunches. Never really tried their breakfast(myself. My coworkers did). There is, to me, nothing really special about their food, I however would recommend the Flank steak quesadilas for big appetite meat lovers! They are nice! Contrary to other reviews I am not amazed by their crab cakes at all. I actually felt that the crab meat they used on my last caesar crab cake salad wasn’t so fresh, unless they use herbs I never tried before? Salad dressing wasn’t great. Carrot Cake is nice: light and wet. Every time I go there it’s very crowded and noisy. For brunches I prefer going some other places. Please if OK for a quick lunch(if you don’t need to queue).
