What a GEM! I found this place by accident, as I was getting my screen replaced upstairs at Sunset Wireless. The fruits and veggies are around $ 1 a pound, the cheeses rang from $ 3 – 6 a pound and they have a wide assortment of fresh breads, Armenian foods, dairy products, fresh meats, pastas, rice, and spices… all at amazing prices. I did all my veggie shopping (4 grocery bags full) for under $ 20!!! Amazing!
PS: bring a cloth bag to snag goodies in and the owner will give you free pastries!
Parking is ample and although most people pay in cash, they do take debit cards.

I was introduced to Zeytun on an Ethnic food tour of LA conducted by L.A. Urban Adventures. It was a great tour, and being taken to a great local market such as Zeytun was fantastic. The market had the BEST prices on fruit and veg — seriously, $ 1.00 for 4lbs of watermelon?! $ 1.00 for a clamshell of blackberrys?! Really awesome prices. Inside the shop are simple shelves full of traditional Armenian foods from bread to cheeses, a meat counter, candies and fun stuff like Rose jelly. I just might buy a jar on the next tour to try it out. The shop is small, and packed, so be prepared to wait in a long line to ring up your cheap goods.

Besides from the long lines, I love shopping at this store. They have a great variety of ethnic foods, particularly Armenian, that you can’t find anywhere else.
