It is indeed at a new place now, at the Hollywood Studio Bar and Grill. There’s ample of parking outside and the show starts around 8 – 8:30pm. If you want to get a table, there’s a 2 drink minimum. Seating in the fold-out chairs in the front are free though. I didn’t try the food there. The beer selection is pretty minimal. The show was really cool though and had a great communal, family vibe to it. I thought it was a great, free way to get a taste of LA’s comedy scene. Melinda and company were celebrating a myriad of events… one being release of her podcasts called«romantic encounters»…with a shorter than usual improv session and party afterwards. I don’t know what the party entailed cos we didn’t stick around. Honestly, I was a little intimidated to be overshadowed by an entire party full of funny people… But I think the show was a great way for the audience to get in on the local scene and for the comedians to experiment their new material. Hooray LA!

This is one of the best comedy shows in L.A. Every week it’s a different line up but you get quality comics each time. First of all, Maria Bamford and Melinda Hill alone are worth it. They are hilarious and truly original. And all the comics(Eddie Pepitone, Duncan Trussell, Jackie Kashian, Greg Proops) on each line up are very original; you won’t find cookie-cutter comedy at this show and that’s what I like. This is one of the best kept secrets in L.A. for sure! It’s only $ 5, which is ridiculous considering what you get.

I was in Los Angeles last May with 2 friends. We wanted something hip to do, so we attended this show because it was rated highly by LA Weekly. We were very impressed with the quality and the number of comics. In Wichita, if we want to see a live comedy show, we have one club, and it’s $ 12 – 25 to attend. You usually only get to see 1, or 2 comics, at most. You also have to put up with smoking, so we don’t go often. We were totally blown away with Melinda Hill & Maria Bamford and What’s Up Tiger Lilly? After the show, we got to talk to the comics, and take pictures with them. We could not have been happier with this experience and would recommend it highly. For $ 5, it’s the best bargain around. They could easily charge $ 30 or more to see 5 –7 great comics. These are very good comics, and we had a great time.
