V Cafe

This café is my new favorite! Their food is made fresh and I served quick! A nice healthy treat and their cupcakes are delicious!

The most delicious salads and sandwiches in town! When I’m in the area, I always make sure and drop by!

Love their potato and leek empanadas. They don’t always have them but I gotta have it when they do.

Stopped by for lunch and had the grilled veggie sandwich. It was really tasty and flavorful, the portion was perfect and it came with a simple side salad. Wasn’t too expensive, either. Really great lunch spot and definitely will be back.

Five reasons for 5 stars;
1. Their recommendation of sandwich tastes so fantastic, I never realized its deliciousness of dried tomato paste until that time, even I tasted it many times, but the sandwich!!! (Unfortunately, I forgot its name, the one on my photo, just in front of me, ASK, when you be there)
2. Location so good, right next to Fred Seagull.
3. Customers here so cool!
4. My wife said she really loves its atmosphere, small, but clean & neat!
5. Well, I can write many reasons, but, it was 3 days ago, but I can still remember the sandwich taste even it’s midnight now, with its crunchy outside toasted bread,
I will tell something to my friends and customers from Japan who thinks and say American sandwiches never taste good… «Hey, you have to go and eat V CAFE, their taste is more than SUSHI sometimes…»

CHICKEN AVOCADO CEASAR SALAD WRAP
This is one of the best wraps I’ve ever had. It’s grilled on each side and served warm. Inside is a great combo with good chicken and it’s served with sriracha, YES!

Agree with the other reviewers. Nothing homemade here. This place is definitely a place to hit if you’re starving for a mostly prepackaged $ 11 sandwich (which is never). With places like Ink Sac a few blocks further, I will be hard pressed to find a reason to return here.

Went to the cigar spot next door and wanted to get a bite to eat so I checked out V Café. Had a southwest chicken wrap. The wrap was decent, I think it might have had one or two many ingredients for me. I tend to like my wraps a little more simple. However, the sauce it came with was pretty dope. I think it’s a southwest sauce. Definitely went through that pretty quickly! Had a side of fruit that was good as well.

Best paninis!!! So delicious. Had the roast beef panini and the GCA panini. Paninis come with a side salad.
Also has the smoothies. They are good but not as flavorful as some places.

I was in the neighborhood and used Unilocal to find a spot for breakfast. Employees were friendly, but I did not enjoy the breakfast burrito I got here. It seemed like the eggs were pre-​made and warmed up (like McDonald’s eggs?). I believe it was at least $ 6.50 but really was not good. There were many other things on the menu that looked good, just don’t get the breakfast burrito!
I used the Unilocal check in for a free coffee which was good. I had to get a second cup because they had half and half with ice cubes in it — so it made chunks in the first cup and I got worried it was funky half and half.
Anyway, maybe worth trying something else if you are in the area, but I was not impressed and probably won’t be back!

I tried V Café for the first time today since it was the closest food place near my internship office. I ordered a caesar salad with chicken and it was amazing!!! The service was great and the pricing isn’t too bad. I also got a cookie and that was good too! I will definitely be going back since it’s only 2 blocks away. Nice little spot to grab lunch or quick drink to go.

I love everything about this place except the coffee. Great food, clean, great service, quick, but the coffee is nasty. Very bitter. Maybe the tea is better.

I specifically came here because this restaurant had good Unilocal reviews and they didn’t disappoint. I had the southwest chicken sandwich wrap which was fantastic! It had just the right amount of chicken, beans, lettuce, and sauce. I loved the tangy spicy sauce they gave. My only complaint is the price, it cost us $ 23 for two sandwiches — way too expensive in my opinion.

Want a healthier option? Try ordering one of the $ 10 sandwiches as a wrap and don’t be surprised when your bill is $ 3 more than you expect. They won’t tell you before they swipe your card, but, yes, that’s a 30% markup… to replace an expensive pretzel roll with a tortilla.
Dear V Café,
It’s not about the money — it’s the principal. If you don’t like substitutions, put up a sign — don’t cheat your customers. After all, you’re a deli.

i got a half pint salad each time i was here, good price and delicious. the portions are light yet filling.
great if you’d like to grab a quick eat at or sit down and enjoy in a bowl.
from reading the other reviews, i suppose nothing is homemade which is kind of irksome.

Really great chicken rap. I went here with a couple of friends on the way to the dodger game. I had the rap and sone fresh cookies. Everything was fresh and tasty.

Delicious cute café on Melrose. Highly recommend their breakfast wrap! Yum. The café is pricy but standard for the area. Expect to pay between $ 9 – 13.

Cute little health foods café on the nicer part of Melrose. Modern façade, outdoor seating; no seating inside, tho. Pretty extensive menu, with smoothies, specialty coffees, premade deli dishes, made-​to-​order sandwiches and lots of grab-​and-​go snacks.
I got the v power smoothie: kale, banana, almond. It was a generous serving and comparable in price to any other smoothie joint. It was very refreshing but had zero flavor, so I had to add some agave.
The reason for the reduced stars is my skepticism on how fresh everything is. The salads and fruit in the deli cooler didn’t look very fresh. I bought a cup of grapes that ended up being soft or mushy. On top of that they were nearly $ 4! I could have purchased a big fresh bag of ripe grapes from the store for that.

I’m addicted to this place! I come here at least once a week. Not only delicious food, but it’s also healthy. Staff is really nice and appreciates your business. The owners are so sweet and welcoming. I recommend the chicken chipotle wrap or the GCA (grilled chicken avocado). They have soups of the day & yummy pasta salads for later. 2 thumbs up.

The staff is always so nice, and everything is always fresh!
I recently came in and ordered the «roasted beef panini» — thinly sliced natural beef, balsamic onions, melted provolone and swiss cheese, arugula and horse radish mayo served on ciabatta bread.
It was really good, very satisfying. The size is not huge but rather perfect. It’s enough to satisfy hunger and still have room for one of their yummy juices or maybe a coffee or snack. The beef was so tender and the onions soo much flavor!
My friend ordered the «roasted turkey sandwich» — all natural roasted turkey, manchego cheese, basil aioli, pickled onions, tomato, and mixed greens served on a baguette.
I had a bite (or 2) and it was great! Tasted really homey :) I loved the basil aioli it gave the sandwich some oomph!
For sweets: I always suggest the chocolate chip cookies, and the pecan bars! To die for!
