The Dripping Chicken

They happened to be parked in front of Oaks Tavern Bar in Sherman Oaks around the spring of last year. My boyfriend lived right there so when we saw a random food truck parked outside we had to check it out. So glad we did. We only were able to go a couple times because they only came certain days if at all, but it was always a treat. The ‘Og wings’ are hands down the best wings I’ve ever had. Spicy but the lingering sweetness kept drawing me in for more. Im salivating as I’m writing this review btw.
I’m glad to see these guys still at it. I can’t wait to go hunt this food truck down the next time I’m in LA.

That’s what this truck’s motto should be… Because it’s true!
I tried the wings and the Jerk Taco.
I’ll start with the taco
It was rather large! A meal in itself… well for normal people anyway!
The Jerk chicken itself was on the dry side with that signature jerk spicy taste. Topped with their cole slaw, onion straws and stuffed into a flour tortilla, this is a taco to be reckoned with. If you like spicy, you’ll love this taco.
The wings.
6 wings with cole slaw and dipping sauce. Here’s where the surprises start.
The bbq wings had a nice smoky taste and were cooked absolutely perfefectly. A very slight crunch to the crust.
The OG wings are nothing short of sublime. Next time I eat from this truck, that will be my meal. The sauce had a nice spicy flavor with an underlying layer if some kind of fruit flavor. I just ate and I’m getting hungry all over again just thinking about these.
The coleslaw was another surprise, it had imitation crab in it! AWESOME!
Some may notice I didn’t give them 5 stars after giving so much love. Don’t get me wrong, I love this truck’s food. It’s some of the best of what the truck world has to offer. But, they’re a little slow and disorganized. I waited 25 minutes although in their defense I’ll say that it was 15 of those minutes before they even took my order. The woman was very nice and apologetic but it was clear she was overwhelmed. I think that with experience they will work those kinks out. They are after all fairly new and this was the first, (and hopefully not the last), time they were at my workplace in El Segundo.

Man ohhhh man had some fire wings from this truck with an amazing dipping sauce to go with it… taste fresh and delicious these guys definitely know what they are doing when it comes to wings. I recommend dripping chicken to anyone who likes good food and getting dirty.

Caught this truck on Melrose. I have to say… BEST chicken wings ever. I’m from Pittsburgh where they do wings right, but the honey garlic crispy goodness I had this night made me sing a new tune. My husband had the jerk taco which was excellent and spicy.
I will be following this truck in the creepiest stalking way possible. I need my wing fix!

Attractive Men and amazing Chicken Wings, where do I signup? I have never written a review right after tasting something but fellow Unilocalers I HAD to. This is my Love Letter to The Dripping Chicken’s OG Wings.
I promise, the wings were crunchy, juicy and seasoned to perfection. I had to remind myself that I was at work (BET Networks) on my lunch break and that people could see me eye’s closed making love to a fried chicken wing. I am incredibly happy with my meal if you couldn’t tell from reading this. All I can really say is that The Dripping Chicken had me at «Hello… what would you like?» It was and always will be LOVE at first BITE!

All I got to say is LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! The Miami sandwhich is SOOOOOO good, a lil pricey but so WORTH it! The seafood coleslaw will want to make you slap someone. Such great tasting food with a carribean feel, I will follow the Drip everywhere!

We had the jerk chicken quesidilla and the jerk turkey panini. Both were so incredibly tasty. The only downside was they don’t have signs saying order here and pick up here so we were a little confused haha, but it was soooo delicious!!!
