Really good food but definitely on pricier side. All of the prices for dishes were recently increased $ 1 – 3 so for two plates(one skewer of meat with rice and a tomato) with specialty rice extra $ 3 side dish of dip and side of salad extra $ was $ 50 with tax without tip. $ 30 a person is too much considering all the wonderful Persian restaurant choices up the street where you can have dinner for two under $ 40 including tax. The koobideh and eggplant dip was tasty.

I love this place, but until they update their website I am leaving it at one star. Purposefully posting lower prices online than they actually serve is extremely unethical and illegal. If I knew what the price actually was when I checked online before coming here, I may not have driven all the way here and I certainly would not have ordered it.

Excellent food. Visiting almost every Persian food restaurant in Los Angeles this one has to be one of the best in food quality if not the best on my list. The shish kabob soltani was awesome. The shish kabob was softer then a filet at Ruth Chris Steakhouse and the koobideh was also amazing. I have never had a Persian food restaurant where both the ground & filet portion of the soltani where so good. The wife also loved her boneless chicken kabob. This isn’t your fine dining Persian restaurant, probably ten tables at most with order at the counter style service. Service was promoted with a smile! No grumpy old Persian man! A must try guys!

ToT is the best fast food Persian food you can get. They have some different choices as well as daily specials. My go to is the quinoa salad which I got with chicken kabob on the side. My husband ordered the chicken kabob wrap, which was equally great. They always give complementary pita with butter. Portion size is generous and service is quick, can’t wait to come back!

Service review: The Lady that takes the order with blond hair was the most unfriendly and rude person we had to deal with. We felt very uncomfortable to sit after our order as she kept looking over with her angry face.(Minus two points). Food review: the food was very good and the next time we will Order to go only.

I have no idea what everyone is talking about! Decided to try this place yesterday and I just don’t get it. Nothing I can’t grill at home. The rice was dry, and for the price… the tiny bit of saffron rice on the top of white rice was sad. Meat was juicy, so was the chicken both were seasoned correctly. The appetizer was so bad! The crispy rice was black. Should rice ever be black? Maybe I’m totally wrong?

Good food, fast service, and reasonable prices! I’d suggest getting the plate versus the wrap so that the delicious meat taste isn’t covered up by the other ingredients in the wrap. I’d definitely come back again.

Lubia: divine. The pinto beans were cooked in a savory tomato sauce(full of flavor) with carmalized onions. The kids devoured it with rice. My toddler said«mommy make this!!». Rice: Crack Kubideh: ground meat skewers were a little bitter in flavor. The family loved it. Lentil soup with noodles: the one at Attari is far superior… go there!

Clean place, fast and friendly service, but most of all, food quality was excellent. Some of the best Persian food I’ve had, I will most definitely be back.

I really enjoyed the chicken kabob here but my favorite was the quinoa with tobuli salad it — it had a bit of jalapeño and was something I’d go back for! I really enjoyed the Hummus as well. This place is a small gem. Authentic Persian food.

Small hole in the wall café. Clean, decent portions. Don’t go expecting ambiance but you do get decent* food. Is it Raffi’s place, no. But it’s quick and yummy. (Reason for the asterisk above: They lose a star for claiming to sell wild salmon kabobs. I saw the salmon before they grill it. Definitely NOT wild. Farmed! So boo to them for false advertising.)

Of the many Iranian restaurants in the Westwood area, this place has to be one of the best. At least, in terms of kabob. The filet mignon(barg) is tender, the ground beef(koobideh) is seasoned just right, the chicken is marinated and juicy. All of which are very delicious. My go-to is usually the koobideh, but the Tehran Plate Special($ 30) is a great plate for 2 people to share. Recipe for the perfect spoonful of food; I first recommend squeezing a bit of lemon(which comes with the meal) on the chicken, or a bit of sumac seasoning on the beef dish. Then add to your spoon: A piece of grilled tomato(also included) Some rice Maybe some onion. And of course, a piece of kabob. Enjoy the tasty taste explosion of delicious deliciousness! Unfortunately, I’m deducting a star because the have relatively uncomfortable seating. And also one time I found a small piece of aluminum foil in my rice. And a small hair another time. Overall, Taste of Tehran is really one of the better kabob places on the block, all at a reasonable price.

Great kabobs! The chicken and steak were tender and juicy. The rice, which I normally don’t even notice, was super fluffy. The baklava was scrumptious, flaky, and not overly sweet. Apparently you can also order online!

Usually, I would choose Persian food for one of my animal cheat days, but behold, my vegetarian comrades — the lentil quinoa salad at Taste of Tehran! This is the most flavorful, bright salads I’ve ever eaten in my life, and I’m putting it on my regular rotation of quick bites to buy on the Westside. The salad is generous enough in size that you’ll have leftovers, perhaps 2 meals worth. There’s much to be loved for the other dishes too for flavor and portion size. Many a-friends recommend coming here. Recently, I brought a visiting friend who’s never had Persian cuisine, and she was stuffed blissfully after her chicken and rice plate. But goodness really, THATLENTILQUINOASALADISLEGIT!

For fast Persian food, this place can’t be beat. Great flavor and everything is fresh. Ambience is nothing to look forward to and it can feel chilly so make sure you ladies bring a coat. I always get the beef koobideh, stick with what works. That white dressing on the side is epic!

Taste of Tehran is a small establishment across the driveway from Feast From The East on Westwood Blvd. The two restaurants share the same parking lot(if you can’t find street parking). I went with the filet mignon kebab on my friend’s recommendation. It was so tender and flavorful. For $ 14, it is a steal to be eating pretty decent quality meat! It comes with rice and salad with a yogurt/dill dressing. I went with double-salad/no rice. Gotta love it when they give you very, very fresh greens. My friend also got us the hummus with pita which was OK. PARKING: We went over by a tiny bit on my time in the parking lot(with ticket validated) and it cost $ 6. The parking attendant endearingly called me «honey» and I said«Oh, she’s such a sweet lady!» My friend who often eats here tells me something like… you’ll be paying for that sweetness later if we go over on time. Yup… I sure did. She sure is a hustler when she collects your money. Haha.

I took my cousin here for a lazy Sunday lunch. Betting on Unilocal to guide me, we arrived on a Sunday around 12:45PM. We were right in the middle of Little Persia, and I could only see Persians walking out and about and parking their cars alongside mine. The restaurant is pretty small, and it can probably only fit 20 people max for dining. I’m sure it is a place often used for catering and takeout. There is only street parking available; no private lots. The interior is very basic; maybe a few photos here and there, a couple artwork/statues scattered. Everyone eating here was Persian, and I could hear Farsi around us. Score! This is definitely a hole-in-the-wall restaurant meant for everyone to eat authentic Persian cuisine. We ordered the eggplant dip($ 6), which came with thin pieces of? pita bread?. Very good. I also ordered the beef koobideh wrap($ 9), which came with a side salad. It was also flavorful and rich in spices. The portions are very fantastic, and I think my stomach would have been content with eating just half of my wrap. It is no frills; you order, sit down, and they bring the food out to you. The cashier spoke perfect english and Farsi, so it is easy to communicate your requests and orders regardless of background. There is silverware and napkins available by the water station situated in the foot of the door. When I told my Persian friend where I went to eat the following week, he remarked, «Oh! That is a very good place to eat! Very authentic and very good!» Thanks, Unilocal, for making me look good! And for giving me a heads up about this place.

I was craving Persian food and saw the great reviews about this place. The great reviews about this place are 100% accurate and this is my new favorite spot for koobideh. If I could give more stars I would :) I ordered the combination koobideh that comes with chicken and beef. It came out to around $ 15, but worth every penny. The meat here is soooooooo juicy and perfect. Omg I’m salivating thinking about it. I personally like beef more as it has more flavor, and this was also the case with my order. The chicken koobideh is still good, but I’ll get two beef skewers next time! The salad is good, too, and they gave me so much pita bread! I’ll make sure to order hummus next time! Not to mention, the people here are very friendly. Can’t wait to bring my family here!

I’m currently eating my leftovers and enjoying it just as much as I did yesterday. I have had A. Lot. Of. Kabob. in my young life. This is probably my favorite from any restaurant(my dad’s will always be the best, but I’m biased.) Everything was fresh and had lots of flavor. I had the boneless chicken plate, my friend had the koobideh plate with addas polo instead of white rice. As mentioned by many other Unilocalers, the chicken is so incredibly juicy and flavorful. I want to know how they do it! Even the side salad was amazing. I need a dang bottle of that dressing, man. Service was wonderful– the young lady who helped us was very friendly. I don’t understand the people who say the portions are too small. There’s no way I could’ve finished all of that in one sitting without feeling way overstuffed. If you need more than what they serve, you might want to consider cutting back on your portions. Just sayin. In summation– high quality food, great service, at a very reasonable price. Coming back soon with my boyfriend so he can freak out over how good it is.

To think Persian food is as delicious as their men! I came in here one week night as I was strolling through what I like to call the«Persian District» of Westwood. While Taste of Tehran is technically casual dining, they treat you as if you are in a full service dining room. I have read reviews about the woman behind the counter being less than friendly. Even though that’s partly true, the food speaks volumes for what she may lack. We ordered the Taste of Tehran for 2, sat down at one of the small tables, and were quickly served a beautiful salad with a tzatziki like dressing and warm flat bread similar to pita or naan. Afterward came the main dish, 3 kabobs: filet mignon, chicken and koobideh. All three were moist, unfailing flavorful, and served with saffron rice. nom nom nom! Pro Tip: They have this delicious spice called Sumac(Somagh) that you must douse everything with if you can. If I had it to do all over again, I would have stashed a can of it in my purse. Of course the better course of action would be to just buy some at the store, but I digress lol… The portions are large, but left overs made for the best lunch the next day at work! With cuisine this yummy, however did Jasmine stay so thin?
