Tacos El Venado

I posted a one-​sentence review but Unilocal said its not long enough to post! Apparently, «The burritos here are life», is not a considered a thorough explanation. But really, is there anything else I need to say? The burritos here ARE LIFE. Eat here. You’re welcome.

Bad service! Tripas aren’t fully cooked! The girl taking the orders has a very bad attitude and she’s really rude! Got very sick from eating here…

WOW! Finally a taco place on the street that is opened Monday — Sunday! Wooohoo! Tacos are delicious… al pastor is my favorite, followed by tipas and then asada… these tacos are LEGIT!

Hands down one of the best taco spots I’ve tried in a long time! I had 4 asada tacos and they were delicious. The meat was very flavorful and had very little fat. The red salsa was amazing! Most taco spots have watered down salsas but they all looked very good here. We drove from Culver City here and they didn’t disappoint.

Everything here is delicious! The best tacos I ever had. You guys are doing a good job !

Best street tacos away from TJ! I taste tested 2 of theirs and 2 from the El Tauros truck around the corner and the taste is like night & day, loved their Al Pastor carved from the spit for only a buck and the grilled onions are to die for! The brisket was so soft & tender too, great find

Honestly, some of the best tacos I’ve had. All of their meat is very flavorful and aromatic. Their salsas are also a wonderful accent to its finished flavor. Their burritos don’t skimp on the meat and they allow you to put whatever you want into it personally and then wrap it up.

Really delicious and flavorful meat. Lots of topping to add. I’ve only had the tacos and burritos, both of which did not disappoint. It’s one of the better places for carne asada in my opinion. Despite there often being a line to order, the service is generally pretty quick. It’s definitely one of our favorite places for street tacos. Again, the carve asada is fantastic.

I always visit tauro tacos which is the spot right next to this location. I tried these tacos in one occasion that tauro tacos were not there. I tried the asada tacos and i have to say the asada tacos are way better here. (Maybe i got tired of tauro asada tacos). I don’t know but they were so good and the salsas as well. It was late night almost 3 the employees looked tired i didn’t expect any good customer service but the tacos made up for it after a late night out.

If tacos for a dollar, and them being delicious were separate cases, this little taco stand would be a good place to stop by, but these tacos are god damn delicious and only $ 1. I’ll go out on a limb and say best in the valley. And they gots options! If you live in the 818 and like food, this place is essential.

Great taco and burritos served here. Their al pastor is one of the best I have ever had, if you are in the NoHo area this is definitely a spot to try out.

Working nights and very odd hours it’s hard to pin down a place to be happy to eat at.
230am Daniels was closed — not going to drive to echo park or 18^th when we’re not working in those areas.
So here we are OMG tacos hot fresh and with barely any fat but tons of tasty juicy asada! I told the spouse get me a burrito OMG just as good! We couldn’t find the place on Unilocal at first because it was so late and I was half asleep-​I had to comb my memory for landmarks. Thank ya Jesus I found you! We will be back and maybe bring the kids on a day off.
Look for the taco truck with the M name and that’s the spot! LOL *update to last — we have been back twice SUPER DELISH! Support your local taqueros!

I have driven past this taco stand several times and seen a long line. Now I always say «If there’s a line, its good food.»
So today I decided to try it out. I parked in Blaquas parking lot because I couldn’t find a spot on the curb & noticed there is an El Tauro Truck beside the stand. I walk past Tauro truck to take a wiff of their food and to me it wasn’t satisfying. Once I turned the corner to El Venado, a strong aroma of spices and sweetness coming off of the steak stew hit my belly & I was ready to order.
Boy, I do not regret ordering 3 Carne Asada tacos & 1 blanquita (quesadilla taco with carne asade in it). On top of that they had flavorful guacamole & spicy red hot sauce. I’m seriously in love… Or lust. Their grilled onions had a great taste too & just the hustle of these men was award winning in my eyes. It’s 56 outside and they’re handling business. Way to go guys!
I will be returning.

I wish I knew how they marinade their meat cause this spot is the bomb, the avocado salsa is on point (they have three kinds of salsa), it’s the only I’ve tried. My favorites are asada, chorizo, and chicken. I keep coming back at least once a week. Their prices, Are very reasonable. They have 2 – 3 tables set up and on the weekends they are packed but move quick through the orders. Definitely recommend this place to everyone!!!

not the most glamorous taco stand but I’d say the best in the valley for sure.
I’m biased to the original leos in eagle rock with a loyalty base originating from at least 14 years ago. That is until I saw/​had the carne asada here I could finally say I would not be making the 16 mile drive to eagle rock anymore. It’s mixed into that ig heaping cauldron so like leo’s it has that distinct taste to it. coupled with the onion cilantro and tomato mix and a bunch of lime it is hard to beat. the al pastor is amazing and I always grab a couple tacos to go with the all meat burrito. avocado salsa is really good quality and so is the red sauce (almost as spicy as king taco but more fresh).
I go every week, sometimes twice, sometimes thrice. my only regret is never trying it before since its 1.4 miles away and I drive by it on the way home almost everyday.

Omg love this place! The food was so good, their al pastor and carne asada are amazing. I wish I tried the buche though. Everything you need they provide, from napkins, sauce containers and plates. The workers were extremely nice and quick to serve. They had a separate table for sauces and condiments and had a generous amount of each item. Lastly, they offer complimentary beans and rice upon request. I wish I still lived down the street because I would be there everyday!

When a taco stand has its meat stewing prior to hitting the grill, it’s a damn good spot! This place is always cracking & rightfully so.
The tacos de chorizo are a must! As is the burrito de suadero (a thin cut of beef from the intermediate part of the cow between the belly and the leg — thanks wikipedia!). So good!
Their tacos are a dollar each (a rarity in the taco world).
They have an array of aguas frescas, salsas, and accoutrements.
They let you stuff your burrito with whatever your heart desires before closing it up for you.
Seating is available if you wish to eat there.
It’s cash only!

Best burritos ever!!! And I’ve had plenty around the valley. The meats are cooked perfectly and the salsas are both spicy and delicious. I always get the carne asada burritos– once I walked over and they didn’t set up and I was so sad because I had to settle for another stand not as good close by. (Sad story bro).

Tacos El Venado is a great and reliable taco spot. Their food has top notch flavor, size + freshness and the service is friendly and quick.
My favorite items there are burritos or quesadillas with the amazing asada or al pastor. Choosing either of those meats in a burrito ($ 5), quesadilla ($ 5), tacos ($ 1) or mulitas ($ 2) is a ticket straight to a happy stomach.
They also have a great variety of other meats (pork: al pastor, buche, chorizo | beef: asada, cabeza, lengua, suadero, tripas) and chicken that are always juicy and they let you personalize your orders with a table full of add-​ons like salsa (red is spiciest), onions, lemons and more. Soda is available in either cans ($ 1) or bottles ($ 2) or you can buy horchata for $ 2.
An ideal order is a burrito or quesadilla, with a side of either two tacos or a mulita, plus a can of soda. You can get all that for just $ 8 bucks.
They sell tortas on the weekends (friday to sunday) for $ 5 from the lunch truck parked right in front of their stand. Any meat w/​cheese, avocado, lettuce, tomato and onions.
Tips:
You place your orders w/​the girls behind the salsa table, not the cooks.
They’re cash only, so make sure to have cash ready.
Ask for two meats in your burrito or quesadilla, it creates an awesome combination and only costs $ 1 extra.
