Ordered delivery — sushi was basic and quality of terriaki chicken was questionable. Just another place sushi place in my opinion. meh.

Great customer service and most extensive menu ever(that isn’t shown on the website). They add new stuff to their menu daily, you can tell the owner has a lot of fun and pride in his restaurant. Their plates and bowls are filling and affordable. Overall it is a local neighborhood spot, fast, friendly, great pricing. I come here often.

Fast, friendly, tasty! What more could you possibly ask for in a take-out sushi place. Oh wait, there is one more thing — it is inexpensive!!! Can’t forget that. I am a big fan of their California Roll and their fried gyoza. For a quick pick-up, it is hard to beat the service here. They also offer some really cool signature rolls and rice bowls.

I like this place a lot. Good food at a decent price. I usually get take out or have them deliver but they have a nice little seating area if you want to dine in. Good little neighborhood sushi spot.

Small sushi restaurant. They have a wide variety of things to order. I ordered the lady in red and the baked scallop roll. The lady in red was very tasty. The baked scallop was good but had a little too much sauce in top for my liking. My only complaint is the lady in red was $ 13 and it wasn’t even that big of a roll. This place is definitely worth a try though.

ordered delivery to fulfill my weekslong sushi crave and was utterly disappointed. Delivery was very fast since I live close, and presumably b/c the quality of the rolls I ordered was so crappy. how this place gets 4 stars is beyond me. Ordered from here since it was one of the cheaper choices, and let me say that you really get what you pay for. Ordered the spicy tuna roll, rainbow roll, and dynamite roll. I usually order these things to measure the quality of the cheaper rolls, mid-range rolls, and top tier rolls. Immediately, I was turned off by the dynamite, as Soy Sauce committed the same sin every other sushi joint does when it comes to dynamite. They all slather pieces of scallop with their mayo concoction and then throw it into a toaster oven and only toast it until the top browns after a couple minutes. This leaves the bulk of the scallop topping messy and overwhelmingly mayo-flavored. Most sushi restaurants use this formula and call the end product dynamite roll(my mom’s sushi joint included). The spicy tuna roll is as mediocre as they come. I definitely agree with other reviewers that their rolls are loaded with rice, and fall apart at first touch. The rainbow roll was least horrible, but still not memorable at the same time. Unfortunately for sushi places in LA, you’ll have to «shell» out top dollar to get above average sushi/rolls. i was hoping that I’d found a gem like San Diego’s Niban in Kearny mesa, which has cheaper rolls that don’t compromise in quality. Such is not the case for Soy Sauce. Pass on this place if you can.

Quick and convenient, it was exactly what I needed for dinner. I walked in, ordered one of their cold bowls(Spicy Tuna bowl), paid and was walking out with my food less than 10 minutes later. There was another woman waiting for her food, but she ordered hot food, which takes longer. The price was a little on the expensive side, but not outrageous. I think my bowl was about $ 9, which included tax. It was a really tasty dinner with many condiment options, which I liked! I’d totally go there again to try another bowl. There were a lot of options, which is good if you want to try many things.

I order from here weekly, at least. I usually get the yakitori(skewers), sashimi, sushi pieces and veggie rolls. There are tons of wasabi and ginger cups in my bag every time. It’s always fast and the delivery guys are really nice. I started getting brown rice instead of white lately, which is much healthier. The last time I ordered there was even a nice note written on the container so I’m shocked to read all these recent bad reviews as they’ve always been so nice to me.

I NEVER write reviews, but I felt like I had to for this place. Hole in the wall places often don’t get too much traffic, so it’s really up to customers to spread the word. With that said, this place is definitely a sushi lover’s paradise! I was craving a spicy tuna hand roll while driving around with my friend, and we saw this place while stopped in traffic. They have so many items that you’re sure to find exactly what you’re looking for. Tip: The spicy tuna hand roll is awesome! I got it with extra cucumber and sesame seeds(it’s great like that). I ordered another one immediately after! I live a bit far from there, but it’s definitely worth the drive. If you live in the area, they deliver!

I love it! I went tonight. I had unique experience here. Fried mushrooms roll is so special. There are many rolls, so you can choose your favorite. Don’t hesitate to go. Just go!

Order delivery from here once a week when lazy and don’t feel like going to sugarfish, sushi Ike or Hama. Always quick delivery and satisfies my sushi craving. Spicy tuna handroll, chicken katsu plate and the nigiri are always my go tos for a coffee table dinner

Really really bad. Just don’t. I had to triple check maps and the address to make sure I am writing a review for the same restaurant as everyone else. This is a tiny little hole in the wall restaurant in the strip mall on Sunset and La Brea. I love hole in the wall restaurants because they’re generally pretty unassuming but tasty. This is not the case with Roll & Bowl. But if you’re looking for really really cheap sushi, standoffish/rude service, and rolls that you discard half eaten: this is your place. If not, go elsewhere. This is really disappointing because I know people who highly recommend this restaurant. I now silently judge all these people.

Ok so you’ve gone from 5 stars to 4 to 3 and now I’m revising down to 1. What’s gone wrong over there, this place used to be awesome. Your staff now suck. Service is terrible and in addition FYI it’s impossible to get the order right if you can’t understand me ordering items off your own menu. Put language and culture aside, it’s the basics of any business to be able to take an order from a customer. In person we ordered, had to repeat each item 3 times and the order still comes out wrong. There are no smiles from the cashier, no pleasant greetings, no apologies when the order is wrong, just bad service. Recently after trying to place an order over the phone and repeating 6 times we gave up and went to Ralph’s. You charge twice what Ralph’s charges, they are a block away and have an authentic Japanese sushi bar, made by real Japanese people. You’ve lost 2 customers who live locally and used to visit the restaurant at least twice per week. Bye bye.

Our friend recommended this place because I wanted sushi and mochi. We’re SO glad she sent us here! Excellent service and the food was delicious. Easily as good quality as some pricy Hollywood spots, but with better presentation. The storefront itself is basic, and food comes on disposable plates so don’t expect fancy. Expect great food and great prices. We got the shrimp and scallop skewers with the cucumber salad to start. All outstanding! Then we got the baked lobster roll which was so delicious we’ll never get Rockin Sushi Dan langostino again. The Hot Night roll with shrimp, crab, and spicy tuna may be my favorite ever. To finish we got some mochi to taste. Instead of just giving us the whole mochi, they were cut in half and presented on a plate with an orange bear!!! Delicious and adorable. I wish they had an East LA location! Try this place. You’ll love it.

I really try hard to like this place because it’s the only place near my work that serves something that even remotely resembles Korean food. But a good 40% of the time that I’ve come here they fudge something up(so here’s a 2-star review). Last time, I actually wrote a nasty review because I was fed up with their skimpy portions on the beef short ribs(they did it again today. Are they that cheap with the meat?) but I took it down for fairness’ sake. But the review is back up because this is the fourth time. Told me food will be ready in 20−25min. Waited 40 minutes. I’m working overtime, I expect to have my food ready when you promise it. Apparently they forgot to make the grilled salmon salad or gave it to another customer which delayed the take out. But seriously, I’m sick of how they are so cheap with the kalbi, and it’s overcooked to a crisp 90% of the time. Ironically, today they undercooked it. Just found out that Pink Pepper across the street serves Kalbi. If it turns out to be halfway decent, I won’t be visiting this place anymore.

Had a poor experience with this place through the Eat24 app. We ordered about $ 30 worth of food at 9pm on a Friday night. After placing our order, our estimated delivery time was 1 hour. Over an hour later, our food hadn’t arrived, so I called to check on the status. The woman who picked up the phone was extremely courteous and accommodating, telling us our food would be there within 3 minutes. Sure enough, it arrived shortly thereafter. Sadly, it was obvious that the food was prepared over an hour earlier. The catsu chicken, the sashimi, the skewers were all the same temperature. The flavors were lost. It’s one thing to wait over an hour for delivery; that, I can swallow. It’s another to then feed my grumbling stomach with lukewarm food. It was clear that the food preparation was not the issue. I’m not certain whether my poor experience is owed to Eat24 or Soy Sauce Roll & Bowl, but I know I won’t be ordering delivery again. I may consider dining in because the customer service was better than their catsu.

Solid Japanese chicken and rice plates. Probably the best fast asian restaurant in the area in terms of price, taste, and options. What makes their plates standout is the taste of the grilled chicken — it’s fresh with a slightly charred taste that I get excited about. The salad it comes with is decent and the ginger dressing won’t be anything to write home about. Comes with a crispy gyoza and some pickled veggies too. The rice is sprinkled with smokey seaweed flakes and sesame seed. Very elegant touch. I hear the lobster bowl and the sushi is good here as well. I’ll definitely come back often!
