Good food and drink selection! Definitely grab lunch here if you’re in the area. The salads and sandwiches are hearty and fresh. The only downside is the seating/ordering process. A little confusing and the food can take a bit too long to prepare. Otherwise, A-OK!

This place has a cool, hip vibe. The beer is great. The drinks are good. The food is small but tasty. Chicken and donuts were good. All in all, cool place

This place doesn’t have a single clue on how to run a restaurant delivery service. Even if it is a 3rd party service, you’re still giving them the WRONGFOOD. They’ve 100% given me the wrong order twice in a row and I’ve only ordered from them twice. I just paid $ 50 with tip to get a single burger that isn’t even one of the things I’ve ordered. TWICE! Oh and yeah NOREFUND. I got straight ripped off, $ 13 burger for $ 50! Who runs this place? GET A CLUE. It’s sad because the burgers are actually really great.

I just wanted to write a quick review and let everyone know what an amazing bar this is, not because of drinks but because of the service that went above and beyond to make a fun evening for myself and my date. Last night(May 29th) Sixth st tavern was pretty busy, not packed but definitely not lackadaisical. The bartenders were being overworked and a lot of the guests were being dicks. I’m writing this because my particular bartender, whose name I don’t have, he was a gentleman with bleached blonde hair and not a bad-looking dude, was just the best bartender ever. I think that we, as guests, forget how human our service staff is. Regardless, I wanted to thank him, for his amazing service and his overall hospitality regardless of how busy the night was. Thank you mister, you were really awesome even though it was slammed. :) Sorry I don’t have your name and you probably don’t remember me, but hopefully you check this out. I work downtown at a particularly busy sushi restaurant, so I know how awful people can be too. Thank you again!

Had the chance to try their bistro burger with fries at lunch time. Sad to say I was little bit disappointed. The fries was a bit overcooked while the burger was kind of dry. For the price of $ 13, I’ve expected more :(

A nice lunch spot. 1) I ordered the Hickory Bacon Burger. It was just fine. Not as impressive as I expected. I will give it a 7⁄10. 2) My colleagues and I shared Brussels Sprouts(Super Yumm!!! 10⁄10) and Spinach and Artichoke Dip(Yum too! 9.5÷10) — the appetizers were so good!!! Especially the Brussels sprouts — it has the Parmesan and orange citronette which delivers an amazing sensation to the month:-) 4) Fries was ok. Our office dog loved it! For my next visit, I’d love to try the Chicken donuts, chicken sandwich and duck cheese fries!

We have been here several times and have always had good service and good food! This has become one of our go to spots in DTLA. We like the street front patio and open air bar tables. You can watch the world go by and enjoy some good food! The burger is one of my favorites as it is good sized and tasty. I have also tried the waffles and chicken. tasty treat! Sixth St also has TVs, good selection of local taps and can get crowded at night… great place to get a good meal and start a fun night in DTLA! Cheers!

Finally got a chance to stop by after seeing so many pics of their food on Instagram. It’s part take out, part sit down spot. You order your food & drinks at the bar, then they bring it to you table. We went Saturday afternoon, so it wasn’t too busy, but if it were night time I could see how this might be annoying. I ordered the Tavern Burger and my friend got the BBQ Burger, both delicious. We also ordered the cocktail of of the day, which was $ 7. Super tasty. We also ordered the chicken & donuts, which are probably super delicious warm, but we didn’t eat them until after our burgers, so it wasn’t as great. I’ll definitely be back. Good food, reasonable prices, nice drink selection(lots of beers) and a nice atmosphere.

I was less than impressed with Sixth St. Tavern. I would come back again for drinks but not for the food. I came here for dinner and ordered the Fried Chicken Salad. I was happy they didn’t skimp out on the chicken but the salad was nothing special. I’ve paid less for better salads before. There is a full bar setup inside but there are also tables scattered inside and around the patio. My group waited for about 15 minutes at a table before we realized no one was coming around to take orders. Not a big deal, it’s easy enough to order at the bar but it would’ve been nice to know that from the beginning. There are TVs inside and it was full of people so I see the allure. Like I said, I’d go back again to watch a game and for the drinks but I don’t think the food is worth it. Part of the problem might be that they’re trying to be too trendy with their dishes. I think they’d be better off sticking to more traditional bar food dishes instead.

Here for dinner and drinks a lot as I work across the street. Always a great crowd and always good food. Got the chicken sandwich this time with fried chicken and coleslaw. It was kinda small but it was pretty filling for its size. Beers are great but it does get pretty packed so you might not always get a table. They have cool outside seating.

And the big thanks to my Unilocal buddy Grant from Pasadena for his recommendation of Sixth St Tavern in DTLA. This place was bombtastically delicious. Everything we had was executed to perfection and the flavors were on point. The steak cooked just the way I like it and the kale chicken salad was so full of flavor that I actually finished the whole thing. Hey it’s salad so it’s healthy right? Lol !! Service was good. We sat at the bar and the bartender, sorry forgot his name was quite friendly and made time to hold a conversation that made our lunch more enjoyable. The place is just the perfect size and well lit, I need to come back during the evening as I’ve heard its quite awesome. Oh and do not forget to get their chicken and donut, it is quite frankly one of the most delicious desserts and to me well it was dessert and it was Amazeballs.

This is a solid bar with a kitchen that is open until 11pm. Working down the street makes this my local watering hole but with so many options to drink in downtown, what makes this place so special? The staff are incredibly hospitable and very approachable. You know you’re about to have a great night when Dominic greets you out front and you see Sam and Casey behind the bar. They have signature cocktails and always have a great selection of craft beers. There is also bud lite and other domestics for those who are not keen on the craft beer movement. Must try food are the chicken wings, fried chicken salad, and beef dip sandwich. Cheers!

Came here for happy hour on a Saturday evening. The whiskey sours were really good, though my bf ordered several with Jameson thinking they were $ 5 each. We found out at the end of the night that only well whiskey sours were $ 5 each even though the bartender kind of made it sound like we could have any alcohol. Oh well The fries with cheese were good. Lots of cheese and a good crisp and thickness to the fries. I was hoping for duck fat fries but they didn’t have them anymore. I also ordered a grilled cheese and it was fine but tiny! There were 4 tiny triangles of a sandwich for $ 10. I would have still been hungry if not for the fries. I wouldn’t say the grilled cheese is worth the $ 10.

Great taven! Great food! We ordered the tavern burger with fries and split it. Super delicious. The patty tasted handmade which is always a plus. Very chill vibe and laid back. Tables are available outside also.

I came for happy hour after a rushed day. It was low key during that hour and we took a seat at the bar. The happy hour food menu is limited but that’s okay. We got burgers and they were fantastic. I didn’t have lunch and this filled me up! The service was fast and attentive. It’s not the flashiest place on the block but this casual spot is great for those who want a low key drink or some great bar food.

I grabbed a seat at the bar and started with a Left Hand Milk Stout, one of favorite beers. I thought about getting a burger, but I ended up ordering their Steak and Fries Plate. I ate it while watching the Seahawks v. Cardinals game. Damn, those Hawks are heating up at the right time again! The bartender and I got into talking about stouts, so he gave me a taster of the Victory Java Cask coffee bourbon stout. It was good, but definitely a palate wrecker. *Steak and Fries Plate* It was a hanger steak, thinly sliced and cooked medium rare. It came with a small serving of fries and some greens. It was pretty good stuff, but don’t expect to be filled especially if you have a big appetite. They had an average sized beer list with some good ones. Food was a bit on the pricey side, but it was good. The menu was pretty simple and even if you’re not sitting at the bar, you’ll need to go up to the bar to place your order. I’d definitely make a return visit if I’m ever in the area.

I get why this place is so packed now. They serve delicious bar food at a pretty reasonable, great ambiance, and a wide selections of craft beers. However, only a few local beers qualify for happy hour. If you come after work it is pretty much a free for all. You order everything at the bar; if it’s a drink you get it right away, for food they give you a number and deliver it to you when it’s ready. My advice: find a seat before ordering anything. This place gets packed! My friend and I were able to find two stools at their patio area. Not a great spot, but we had a kick people watching! We were both craving something rich and creamy but we couldn’t decide between the grilled cheese or the artichoke dip. Since we are both avid foodies… we got both! Glad we did cause they were both amazing! They really stood out from your typical artichoke dip and grilled cheese. Full of flavor and good quality ingredients. Bonus was the beers were a great compliment to the food.

I actually like this place as they tend to be a cool little kickback spot if a place like the standard etc are a bit too packed. This little drinkery has a pretty cool selection of drinks and some neat signature cocktails as well, have them experiment a bit with gin, you’ll think me later. The food is actually quite good, headlined by the burgers and fantastic signature cheese fries. Pair the great drinks, ambiance and food with their great service and you have yourself a nice little bar. Pros– Location Drinks Outdoor/indoor seating Ambiance Friendly service Music Cons– Crowded on weekends Kitchen closes a tad early

I’ve driven by this place numerous times, but have never gone inside until recently. For some reason, I’ve always chose to go across the street to the hotel roof top for the mighty view of the City. Anyhow, we came here to eat and drink a little after a friend’s birthday celebration nearby. I always knew the Sixth Street Tavern was a nice place to hang out and chill. Their food menu selection is quite minimal. I remember seeing a burger item, a kale salad with fried chicken, and some finger foods along with a nice menu of drinks that’s available. They have a decent selection of beers, and is pretty much able to mix you a drink of your choice. Now going back to the food part. I was hungry that evening and I really wanted fill my stomach after a day in the office, and already had a drink at the other place we went to along with sharing a sampler plate with some friends. Here, I ordered their kale salad with fried chicken because a few other friends raved about it. Yes, my kale salad was delicious! It didn’t sound too appetizing for the hungry guy, but at least the fried chicken sounded good while the kale was an excuse to have the chicken. So complicated. LOL. I did really enjoyed my fresh leafy salad, and I loved the flavorful fried chicken. The salad was so fresh as it was tossed with cherries, bread crumbs, sliced nuts and a light vinegrette dressing. I also had a Mint Mojito to go with my salad. The mix was perfect! Minty and not too sweet with some lime and a small kick of rum. Very enjoyable! I really do like this place. It feels old and rustic which is their theme. The place is well kept with a good size bar and a dining area both inside and out. Everyone seemed pretty nice. However… as much as I enjoyed my salad and Mojito here, I was a bit disappointed that they forgot to mix my salad after it was ordered. Thirty minutes plus, and it never came. Yes, it is a business and mishaps do happen frequently. But how did they screw up on an easy salad? Who knows. Thanks to my good who went inside to do my dirty work. My salad came out after another ten minutes. I’m satisfied they that they comped my meal and was happy with an apology along with a free drink of my choice. A Mojito, because I already had one earlier. I believe in true apologies when it’s an admitted fault, and I realize nothing is perfect. So no stars lost and especially when I get free food with an apology. So, realistically they deserve four stars. Yes, I will be back again.
