I happen to be in DTLA for lunchtime and only came to CP because Tender Greens across the street had a line practically 9 miles long. Let’s just say that was a blessing in disguise. We ordered pretty quickly, and the cashier was so nice that he noticed it was our first time and gave us 2 drink cups to try their teas. Both teas are unsweetened but have no worries; they have syrup right next to the dispensers. Albacore Tuna Melt This was one of the specials for the day, so it may or may not be there if you drop in one day. I love that it’s not like some melts where the cheese just totally dominates the sandwich. It’s pretty light on the tummy and comes with fries or salad. Lunch Special There’s a board on the left that shows which kind of protein you can choose from. There are a ton of different options. I got the grass-fed steak(medium-rare) which was very tasty and tender. It’s a small portion, especially if you don’t get sides. Sides are definitely a must if you want to get full no matter what size you are.

They have really upped their game… I have raised my rating from 2 starts to 4 because I feel the fish has been cooked properly the last few times. And they changed the menu to reflect that the hummus doesn’t come w/pita(which I still think is weird). Tasty :)

Warning! Gritty dirt salad! I haven’t eaten much here but wanted to try their salad. I just ordered the Albacore salad from their board. I was extremely disappointed at the composition of the salad. I was upset that I paid $ 16 including tip for a gritty salad. I was chewing dirt. Maybe that’s what they mean by farm fresh. First of all, it was mainly a mass of greens with tiny little sprinkles of lentil, chickpeas, & capers. The tuna tasted bland as though it has just been poured out of a can. I was really disappointed with my lunch. Obviously I didn’t finish the salad, since dirt isn’t my fave ingredient in a salad.

I just went here to pick up my lunch and cannot believe how I was treated. Normally I would give this place 4 stars but it’s really inconsistent. It’s not great for take out since portions are cut short. For an $ 11 kale salad with 1⁄8 of an egg and a few bites of chicken the protein is sparce. Other times I’ve gotten the same salad with much better proportions. When I told this to the two women working there they did nothing. It was like talking to a wall. They asked me if I wanted more chicken and I said yes. They ignored me and when I asked them if I was getting more they asked me if I wanted to pay extra. When I asked for more egg they said it’s $ 2.50. They were also rude to me when I ordered on the phone before picking up. I’m not sure who the manager is but these two ladies need some help in the customer service department. I won’t be going back.

We ordered from here for a Friday lunch at the office and everything looked pretty good. I had a vegan veggie sandwich and it was fine. Typical with zucchini, pepper, and tomato but no seasoning or sauce. I also had Brussel sprouts which were cooked well. My coworkers said that the Mac and cheese was very delicious and not too heavy and said the sandwiches they ordered were fresh and tasty.

I love ordering from this place. We place our orders through and both times the food has been delivered fresh, delicious and consistent. Things I’ve tried and recommend are the organic salmon, chicken and apple salad, steak salad and the over roasted turkey sandwich with a side of cabbage patch slaw. The food is so flavorful and the presentation in each box is great! Plus, it’s healthy!

It’s fine. It was quite empty when I went. The food was pretty good, but don’t expect to fill your belly and have a beverage for less than $ 16. The salmon was tasty but kinda small. I ordered an item and a side and they came plated separately, which made it feel less like a classy meal(which the price would imply) and more like a cafeteria. The whole experience would have been better if the food had been plated more appealingly, like, you know, dinner. :) The wifi is slow and things took longer than they should have; there was no one else using it so it shouldn’t have been so pokey. So, this is weird. You place your order and pay, then you go sit with your number and wait. The wire number holders sit awkwardly on the tables and you are expected to put your own number in the holder. They look kind of ugly and in the way when they aren’t being used, and it also seems kind of unsanitary to me. Why don’t they hand you a number on a stick and take it when the plates are dropped off, like places do? Anyway, after a little while, the food comes. No silverware, no napkins; those are all the way back by the register and kind of around the corner. So you either have to anticipate what silverware you will need and pick it up when you order(they didn’t tell me to) or you have to get up, leave your food and bags and such, go get ‘em, and come back. None of this would bug me, nor would the kinda tacky fluorescent lights by the door, if I were spending $ 12 or less and being fed pretty well. But it seems to aim at around $ 18-$ 20 per person, and that seems a little high to me. Along the same lines: You can’t just walk to the restroom whenever you want. You have to ask for the key at the counter, and the employees handle the restroom keys(on their long sticks) with their bare hands. Seems, if not unsanitary, kind of less than classy. All this considered, though it was fine. Pretty tasty, even. The folks there were nice. It most resembles Tender Greens, but TG has their atmosphere together a bit better, and I like their food a little more. I’d go back if it’s the convenient thing.

Cabbage Patch provides an alternative to healthy, clean eating if you’re sick of salads and the like. I like getting the bowls here, with brown rice and their fish or tofu. It’s quick, it’s healthy, and it’s decently priced for being in Downtown. Cabbage Patch and Tender Greens are right across from each other, so I can see this place being frequented more by people working in Downtown than during the evenings or weekends.

I have two things in common with Elaine Benes: 1. We are both amazing dancers and 2. We both love our big salads. My favorite is probably their lentil salad because of their genius of putting lentils on greens dressed with another favorite of mine, balsamic vinaigrette. I like the addition of salmon to this salad because salmon and lentils is another winning combination. But last week I got the soy marinated tofu and wow. It was flavorful, seared beautifully and soft. I was expecting a firmer tofu, but the textures they were working with was perfect. If you’re a beet fan, their beet salad does not disappoint. Herb-y and tossed in a light vinaigrette, it’s quite satisfying. The boyfriend got the tuna salad and it was not your typical tuna salad. It had hard boiled eggs, which is standard. But the addition of sliced radish and chickpeas really made it special. The yam wedge planks were cooked to perfection. They were probably roasted because they had a lovely crust and the inside was warm and soft and sweet. The house made ketchup was the perfect accompaniment. I like that they have iced teas and a bottle of simple syrup to sweeten to your liking. I skipped the syrup and instead made a minty Arnold Palmer, with their mint lemonade.

Was walking around during lunch and decided to just pop in and try this little place. I liked the fact that they have ample seating, one of those«high top common tables» and seem to have seating upstairs too. The service was very quick(ordered, got my drink and got to the table and my food was there 2mins later). Was concerned that it may taste(manufactured) but was pleasantly surprised by how fresh it tasted. I got the CP bowl with Tofu for about $ 13. It was a little raw(the rice particularly) but I guess that is expected got such a dish. Was nice for lunch though because it didn’t put me to sleep(yeah, that’s my bar for workday lunch food apparently — requirement número uno: «must stay awake an hour after consuming said food»!). I’ll definitely visit again and probably try the veggie burger next time!

Ok… here it goes, I have never written a review before, but I usually«review» every place I visit, lol… if that makes sense? Cabbage Patch deserved a review tho, I had a great experience here! There is plenty of items available on their menu, which only makes me want to come and try everything! I came here with my co-worker for lunch today, and although we had a difficult time finding parking, we really loved it here! And for sure will be coming soon! We decided we would take the metro/train instead of dealing with L. A afternoon traffic tho. We both had the rotisserie chicken meal, with slaw and yams for myself and my co-worker had the fries and the greens salad! the food here taste very fresh, considering I just had Costco rotisserie chicken two days ago, I can honestly taste a difference! It taste fresh and not heavy. We loved the yams, and they’re spicy ketchup that comes with the yams and my co-worker doesn’t even like yams ! The aioli sauce that comes with the fries?! Is bomb! Good service, very clean! And best of all they have HAPPY hour! $ 3 beers?! Umm yes! We were going back to work so that didn’t happen, but it’s nice to know we can go chill in a cool(literally and figuratively) place as we sip on our inexpensive beers!

I really liked the seared albacore tuna bowl last time I came here — it was perfectly seared with the center still pink and tender, and served over an assortment of veggies and rice. The sauce/dressing they pour over the rice and veggies is a little sweet and I’d ask to have it on the side next time. I also ordered a cup of split pea soup which was very tasty. The cup of soup and the tuna bowl were a perfect portion for dinner. On previous occasions I have also tried the ½ chicken, shoe string fries, lentil salad, coleslaw, chicken kebob, beet salad. Basically I love this place and I’ve brought a few friends here too. There’s always something on the menu for everyone, the quality of the food is top notch, and ingredients are very fresh and healthy and I think the prices are fair for what you get. Also I recently found out they have a smoothie menu, it’s on the wall opposite the ordering counter so I hadn’t noticed it before but I’d like to try one next time.

This healthy spot is almost as good as it gets. I work down the street from here and love coming here.(even with the super long lines) I must say I would come more often if it weren’t for my busy schedule which at times doesn’t allow me a full hour for lunch. So if you come here make sure you have a full hour or a bit longer for lunch. The lines get big real quick but food usually comes out in time. The food itself is amazing. I’ve had the half chicken with their lentil soup with mash and side salad and well it doesn’t get much better for me than that. I have tried salads and some sandwiches as well but the half chicken is the best for me. Also, another location which is most useful for walking to and not if you are just driving in the area. There is parking(paid) but down the Grand Street side which is a one way street. There are plenty of booths and seats at this place with even an upstairs and during lunch hour it really packs up. Staff is always friendly and also real quick to help you if you need anything. I recommend this place to everyone.

I used to be a regular here, ordering the seared-tofu bowl nearly every week. I was told by their cashier that this dish was vegan; however, months later I learned that the tofu is prepared with fish sauce. Yuck! Why would they do this to a dish that is otherwise perfectly suited to vegans? They should change this and note the change on their menu and I may give them another chance. The service is always fast and friendly. They do have vegan soup purees, humus, etc. for a small lunch or snack.

This place is just okay. Maybe their salads warrant 4 stars, but the grilled chicken sandwich was definitely average. The chicken was a little dry, the sandwich could have used more aioli, but the fries were good. Definitely not worth the price tag. Mendocino Farms sandwiches are way better, even if they don’t come with a side. This place is forgettable and I probably won’t be back.

Came here on a Monday evening. Was surprised to see how dead it was, kind of creeped me out a bit. I rode my bike to DTLA since I knew parking would be a hassle. My gf mentioned that she parked at some building lot, across from Cabbage Patch. Not sure how much she had to pay. Here is what we ordered for a party of two:(we shared the two dishes) Our dishes came out QUICK! probably because no one was there but O well! Better for us :) Their special of the day– the MAHI bowl?($ 14): came with sprouts, brown rice, carrots, cucumber with fish on top with the viet-fish sauce? Apple and candied walnut salad($ 10?): Arugula, blue cheese, candied walnut, and of course, apples! We asked for dressing on the side Overall it was yummy and felt healthy. Just curious why it was so empty. Will come again and try other stuff on their menu.

Honestly, my first experience was via delivery. Based on the phone ordering, I can say, PLEASEAVOIDPHONING-INIFYOUARENOTDOINGCATERING. The employee who answered the call was not very good at taking orders — apparently there was more than one individual at my company who ordered here and she could not create a new profile based on the address, so things got more complicated than was necessary. Anyway, once a new profile was created, my co-workers and I ordered. The delivery, albeit free, took an extremely long time. It was not the delivery person’s fault because he was not clearly instructed where to go(my office is disconnected from the main company HQ) and he spent more than 30 minutes figuring out where it was. So, once things got clarified, he found our office and delivered our food(poor guy). I ordered the BLT sandwich with an order of fries. I was very sad that my fries were cold and soggy. The BLT sandwich was very delicious, but the fries were sad. In fact, my co-worker and I suffered from digestive issues because of the fries(the only common factor we had in terms of eating). I’m not saying the fries were tainted, but since I have a sensitive stomach, the cold, soggy, oily fries did not bode well for me. Price-wise, I cannot justify the price I paid for my meal. It was a plus that they delivered, but this one experience was just awful. I do not plan to ever call to order from here again, but if I had more time for lunch(I work about a mile away), I would eat here in-person.

On the nights I don’t feel like cooking I will be ordering from cabbage patch. I ordered the ½ chicken, beef gyro, and lentil soup through the delivery option on Unilocal and the food came delivered right on time, hot, fresh and yummy! Very well packed, too. I looovee the lentil soup, its really good!

My Unilocal friends love Cabbage Patch but my co-workers don’t really care for this place. Battle of the friendship: P Ordered pan seared albacore tuna bowl. Pan seared albacore tuna bowl($ 15.00):brown rice, julienned carrots, shaved cucumber, bean sprouts, sweet onion, mint leaf and basil leaf, toasted peanuts and seared tuna. The tuna is nicely seared, the rice has sauce on top and the bowl is pretty and colorful. It was pretty flavorful but I walked out hungry. I guess it took a while for brown rice to fill you up because I was ok 30 minutes after my meal. Fast service! I got my bowl in 5 minutes. The cashier was so friendly but the guy who delivered the food to my table was kinda rude. He literally threw the bowl in front of my and left without saying anything :( Downstairs and upstairs seatings. The food is good but not great for $ 15.00. I ended up paying almost $ 19.00 with the tip for a casual lunch. I don’t mind paying that much if I walk out satisfied. They do use organic stuff though… so maybe that’s why it’s expensive. 3.5 stars! Sorry Unilocal friends: P Cabbage Patch is kinda yummylicious!
