there is no excuse for the shoddy workmanship of this company. Yes they have succeeded in bringing great shows from the past and making them available on DVD, a noteable being NYPD Blue, the greatest crime drama ever. But they have no pride in their work. There motto is «Crank it out cheap as possible». Skipping scenes. Poor audio. No Closed Captioning if you have a modern TV with HDMI. No duration timer. Menu not formatted the same as the show.

I grew up in an age where TV shows were different. I am sure that every generation can say the same thing. Specifically for me it was the 90’s, however, I missed some of the cool shows of mid 80’s and early 2000’s. The major reason why some of our favorite TV shows don’t come out on DVD is ’cause obtaining music licensing. Of course today’s shows are a lot smarter with that. Personally I would rather wait for the proper release of a TV series since original music, as watched the first time, played a major role for the story and scenes. If you’re wondering why certain box sets are so $$$ at your stores it’s ’cause of the music licencing. Specific case in point was the Freaks and Geeks box set. They’ve put their own dollars and effort into getting certain music licensing which is important for fans like myself. Their best accomplishment with this and 10 or more years in the waiting/making for me was the Dick Cavett compliation. They do have one toe in the Warner Music water which may explain the accessibility to certain music licensing. Shout Factory has agreements with, among others, Marvel Entertainment, Hasbro Studios, Nickelodeon/Paramount Home Entertainment, Classic Media, Universal Pictures, MGM, and Saban Capital Group. Releases under these agreements have included the complete Joss Whedon/John Cassaday series of Astonishing X-Men, plus Thor & Loki: Blood Brothers and Iron Man: Extremis on DVD and Blu-ray;the original Transformers, G.I. Joe, Jem and My Little Pony cartoons, Power Rangers, and VR Troopers.

I ordered items back in early November. Received them late November. However 1 the items arrived damaged on or about 24th. I emailed that day. No reply for 10 to 14 days or more. Generic 1 at that. I tell them I have email 2 or 3 times since I received the order. I answered their questions. And this was on or about the 4th of December. I haven’t heard from them since and its the 15th. So now it looks like the person I got the gift for will have nothing to open on xmas. All thanks to shout factorys poor customer service department. I realize they are not as big as amazon but they are bigger than a local mom n pops shop. Oh they also posted a reply to a comment I made on their facebook on facebook a few days after I finally got 1 email and made excuse that they have a very small customer service department and are not a huge company like amazon. I have been a long time customer and so have my friends. Idk whats up but I better get the replacement soon or Ill have to figure something else to give to the person the gift was for and im nearly broke so idk if ill even be to afford to do so. The lack of communication and getting me a replacement free of defects n damaged is very disappointing and so much more. I gave them 2 stars cuz I am hoping that they will remedy the situation in way I want soon if they dont they will be getting 1 star since I cant give less.
