Well… I was about to become a new customer but this place can’t even answer a damn phone call when they are open. If you don’t answer within three rings, I move along

Staff is rude! Didnt ask for my order even if I was standing in front of them and they had just 1 customer before me. Coffee is good though…

My new go-to coffee spot! Not only is it right around the corner from my job, but it isn’t super crowded like most other shops. Also, there is easy parking on the side(depending on what time of day you plan to visit)

This review is more critical of the atmosphere than the quality of the coffee. Let’s begin on a positive note: The cappuccino I ordered was a small, $ 3.50 perfectly pulled and creamy with lots of espresso. I’ve had too many coffee flavored milk cappuccinos and this one did NOT disappoint. It was plenty to give me the afternoon caffeine buzz I was looking for. However, the whole vibe of this place is weird. I showed up just before open mic started(it appears it happens everyday) and left during because it was just kind of obnoxious. It doesn’t really beg me to hang out there. If I return to this coffee shop, I’ll be taking my coffee to go. But I’ll be enjoying it on the walk to wherever I’m going.

I really hate to give a bad review… And maybe I’m just a coffee snob but… Both times I’ve been, the espresso was awful. I mean like, really really bad. So bad that I couldn’t drink it and had to pour it out. I’ve never had the drip coffee or anything else so I can’t speak for it all but as far as espresso goes, this is a no-no!!!

Four stars for the coffee and smoothies. Tasty stuff and great deals on the grub. One star off, however, for the really offensive stand-up comedy that I happened upon one evening. I can handle adult language, but slurs against gays and Mexicans for the sake of a laugh are so over. Granted, the shop cannot control wha the comics say and I get it. Hence the four stars. And the place is cozy!!! So Totally check out the delicious stuff, skip the douchey stand-up.

I typically like this place… the coffee is delicious, the food is good and affordable, I like the atmosphere, and it’s literally a block away from my apartment. This morning, I decided to take some of my friends that were crashing at my place(a few out-of-towners and some folks from different LA areas) to grab a coffee and a few breakfast sandwiches before we all headed our separate ways. We walk into a slightly busy Rockpaper Coffee to one guy behind the counter that CLEARLY looks frustrated. He’s the only one working and a group of 6 people just walked in… we’re not stupid dude, we know you’re going to take a bit since you’re the only guy in there. We’re not visibly showing we’re in a rush, we’re willing to wait… we then proceed to have the most awkward order situation as the barista takes our orders… «Alright, one at a time please!!!» we’re all perfectly calm, waiting one by one to take our order… «OK, so you all want drinks AND food!?»… yes, some of us are hungry. As he takes each order, he shakes his head in frustration more and more as we RUIN his world. «One black coffee and a breakfast sandwich»… he exhales in disgust, pondering how many days it’s going to take to prepare this exotic order of coffee and breakfast sandwiches. I even say at one point… «do you want us to go somewhere else? You seem pretty frustrated»… he says«I’m flying solo today man, just trying to take these orders and it’s going to take a bit»… 10 minutes later the food and coffee is done. Everyone is still alive. No one is pissed except the barissta. «If you don’t mind, I’d like to ring you all up now»… we pay one at a time, he gets super pissed. Every time I go it’s like I’m raining hell on the barista. If you’re going to work in this setting, please know how to step up and get the job done. Thanks!

The guy behind the counter was so rude, that I actually left without the food I bought. I go in several times a week, and usually a guy named Josh is there and he’s super nice– not today! Apparently I ordered my bagel with a side of attitude, and go eff yourself. I hope the Starbucks opening on the corner puts you out of business. Never going back.

Haha… the negative reviews are entertaining and bizarre. «The owner misappropriates his knowledge of the law to the entrepeneur.» WHAT?! Wait… WHAT?! Characters emerge in another review: the extremely food savvy pre teen child… the former fine dining restaurant critic. Another Unilocaler describes the place as «weird and sterile.» Yeah — just like every girl I meet in Hollywood. Just do what I do: get in, do your business, and get out. Sheeeeez. Anyhoo, the two for $ 5 healthy breakfast sandwich was a great deal. I wanted to give the second one to a homeless person, but I didn’t encounter any, so I gave it to someone else. Are there homeless in WeHo? Are they psychotic and dangerous like the ones in «regular» Hollywood? Questions abound! Bonus part was that the chick at the counter was totally into me. That’s what it means when a girl ignores you, right? I kid, I kid… I like the giant Andre The Giant and the, um, «attractive women» artwork. I’ll be back.

Closer to a 3.5 star review The employees who work here have always been very nice and accommodating. One time I even forgot my wallet but needed coffee to study and the guy working there made me one anyway. I came back and paid for it a few days later. BUT…there are some minor things that this place needs to work on. First, the internet hasn’t been working the past 2 times I’ve studied here. Working wifi is a basic necessity for a successful coffee shop in my book. Second, the lunch food options are kind of lacking. I’m not really down with the different versions of grilled cheese sandwiches thing. I like a little more substance, more veggies and more meat. Third, I ordered a $ 6 smoothie that just tasted so bland. It was advertised as having pineapple in it but I didn’t taste it at all. The smoothie itself was extremely watery and I had to ask for it to be reblended because the first time I got it, there were still chunks of ice in it. Tastes super weak, like it’s mostly water.

I live around the corner from this place, but hardly ever go. It’s inexpensive and the food/bev is fine. Every once in a while, I think to myself, why don’t I ever go there? Then I go, and remember that: Service is excruciatingly slow Staff are surly & The atmosphere is weird and sterile Then I don’t go back for 6 months. Repeat.

Love this place. Especially on Fridays a really funny girl hosts the open mic. More of an enchantress than a girl really. Defiantly something to write home about. I will be coming back. Also the«baristo» had a large amount of moxy. Quick, and quiet the modern gentlemen. Very pleased.

Just as a coffee shop should be. A little grungy, no frills, fantastic coffee. There’s a large covered patio space in front, booths and tables inside, free wi-fi. Lots of people working here as it’s pretty quiet. No blaring bad music but plenty of well-used bulletin boards and street style artwork. Took me back to the early 90s, when coffee shops were first becoming a place to be. The baristas are super friendly. It’s a very welcoming neighborhood joint and they make a mean latte. Would love to make it a regular thing.

I only tried the mocha but it was the atmosphere that won me over. However, once I tell you about it you’ll flock to it and mess up some of the awesome — which is probably why they’ve gone 2+ years without a Unilocal page. With 2 great pieces of street art adorning their entrance and piles more adorning their interior walls, this place is already an LA must, but it’s the kind smile behind the counter and cozy booths you can hide in that win the local dive award. There are a few snacks and some nice wraps available in addition to the coffee. The mocha was okay; if this review were entirely about the coffee it would’ve gotten a 2 and a half star review, but I don’t think anyone outside of Intelligensia fans do that. And if you’re an Intelligensia fan just go away. Seriously. So check them out. Especially if you want a chill place to read, work(free WiFi) or get lost for a bit with a decent cup of joe. Well done, friends. I’ll be back.

This place is actually not half bad at all. Good coffee and the other food seemed good. I sat and drank coffee with several employees and enjoyed the wifi while I waited for my next meeting to start. I’ll come by here any time I’m local and I ending some good cheap caffeine

This place is so cute. The guy who made my coffee(too early to remember the word for one of those guys, all I can think of is «baptista»” and i know that’s just not right… more coffee please) was very friendly and attentive. There were a couple of us waiting and he got right on it. The coffee shop itself is cute and funky. Indoor and outdoor seating. Interesting artwork. I tried the banana bread, and I just left my mom’s cabin a few days ago so I hope she doesn’t read this, but it was some of the best banana bread I’ve ever had. Or maybe I was just that hungry? Whatever, it was good.
