Place is small and no where to sit. But that is the least of their problems… wanted to order a kid size ice and was told it’s only for kids. Are you kidding me??? the guy behind the counter was nice but told us he was following his bosses orders. I have been to other Ritas and was never told I have to order a certain size. Then…at 9 ish, they ran out of vanilla custard(liquid and frozen). Instead of not making the drink we ordered, or offering a diffetent drink, it was made with not enough unfrozen custard and tasted the same as ice. Not coming back to this location again.

I left here a couple hours ago. The frozen custard is just amazing. It’s creamy, rich, and delicious. I got it on top of the mango frozen ice. The mango frozen ice was too sweet for my taste. I would deathly return just for the custard and to try the delicious-looking shakes(one being Fruity Pebbles!)

Not as many flavors to choose from like the other locations. Some of the Italian ice are extra syrupy and runny. If I didn’t have free Rita’s coupon, I honesty wouldn’t come here. The black cherry doesn’t even have real cherry chunks. You would think it would taste the same as other locations but it not. Cant go wrong with mint, cake batter, watermelon and island infusion.

I ordered a gelati with pineapple ice and vanilla custard. The combination was quite tasty. The custard has a different texture than ice cream or frozen yogurt which makes it a unique treat. The tiny store is shoved in next to a Fed Ex Office store and you might have a little trouble fitting a group in here on a hot day. They apparently don’t want you to stay long as there seems to only be a few folding chairs leaning against the wall and there are no tables. The young gentleman behind the counter was nice but seemed to mumble a bit and I had to ask him to repeat himself a couple of times. These are minor things. you’re here for Italian ice and custard not atmosphere, right?

Tiny little place with a few flavors, but it is Rita’s and the only other one I’ve visited was the one in Tarzana which wasn’t too much larger than the Northridge store. There is plenty of parking so that will not be an issue no matter what time of day you go. The only downside is you never know which flavor is available. They say to go online to check, but I’ve never given that a try. The only thing I ever really get is the Green Apple Italian ice with custard only on the bottom. You can never go wrong with that. If you’re ever in the area give it a try for sure.

Great to have Rita’s in the valley, I always get the gelati. That is a mixture of frozen custard and Italian ice it’s amazing. The location isn’t too good they don’t get too much business. The past 2 times I have gone nobody has been there, which is a bad sign.

Great customer service and delicious cold treats! There was only one guy working there when I went, but he was very helpful in helping us decide what we could get. I got a Gelati with chocolate peanut butter ice and vanilla ice cream– simple yet absolutely delicious, while my boyfriend got a Blendini with mango ice and vanilla ice cream topped with cherries– great combo for those who like fruity flavors. Definitely coming back here to mix and match their flavors!

Frozen custard from the soft serve is literally the most delicious frozen treat around! It is everything ice cream wishes it was, but without any ice crystals. The classic vanilla and strawberry swirl is my favorite. Pure creamy deliciousness.

I was super excited when I drove by on Tampa and noticed Rita’s here in Northridge! I love the combination of Italian ice with custard. Also, I tried their shake blended with blue raspberry ice and vanilla custard. SO good I got a few brain freezes from drinking it too fast. I will definitely be back!

They have gotten better and now have the Lemon flavor!!! Today is their Free Italian Ice Day so I stopped by. Surprisingly there was no line which is weird considering how hot it is outside. Their workers are friendly and seem to now know how everything works and deliver great service. Ive been a couple times since leaving my first review and it seems like each time gets better. Their parking lot is huge so parking is never an issue. I don’t usually get the frozen custard although that is good too. Italian Ice is so refreshing with the valley weather.

Not a good location. I got a regular custard and it was way smaller than usual at other Rita’s. They had no chocolate ice ready when I was there. The girl working seemed liked she he no idea what she was doing. I’d go elsewhere.

This place is new. They have lots of flavors to choose from. Workers seem a bit under-trained. Strawberry as well as Lemon are my favorite flavors! There is also frozen custard which is pretty similar to soft serve ice cream. I hope they start giving out discount for CSUN students because it will be extremely popular if they do!

I’m so glad they opened Rita’s in Northridge! No more driving down Ventura Blvd. Rita’s is good if you’re in the mood for a cold treat but not really feeling ice cream or frozen yogurt. I tried the island fusion Italian ice and it was really good! The location is pretty convenient with ample parking. It’s near a lot of shopping plazas like the northridge fashion center, Costco plaza and CSUN. Only good things to say about Rita’s!

I asked for a kids gelati and she charged me for a regular. My friend ordered a kids cone and it was smaller than what a kids cone should look like. The treats were dripping as she handed it us. We also waited an additional 5 minutes before the manager came and asked us what we needed. The girl helping us looked like she didn’t want to be there, we definitely didn’t get the ice custard happiness experience that we were hoping to get.

Woo hoo! Another Rita’s location in the Valley! This time in the North Valley, close to CSUN in the Pier 1/Big Lots shopping center. It’s located adjacent to the FedEx/Kinko’s, facing Tampa — hard to miss! Soft opening was today, grand opening is in a couple weeks. If you haven’t been to Rita’s yet, you definitely need to give it a shot. Their gelati = custard + Italian ice is amazing! If you don’t know what Rita’s is about, check out their site: Their vanilla custard is an absolute favorite of mine.(It’s been really hard to find good custard in SoCal since leaving the South.) As for their Italian ice: super light, refreshing, and a nice change from froyo and ice cream. My favorite flavors are: peach, mango, Sour Patch, and tonight I had blood orange. Note that they also have sugar free options. Parking is plentiful in this open shopping center.
