I had been searching for years for a good place to get my hair cut in LA. I tried a handful of overpriced salons with lackluster results, when, through some flash of blind luck, I met Berta. I’ve been a loyal client for 3 years now because she is absolutely fabulous and totally understands my hair.
I have naturally curly hair, and for years I would straighten it every day because I never had a cut that made my curls look right. The first cut Berta ever gave me totally released my curls and (not to sound totally superficial) it changed my life. Now I love wearing my hair curly because it actually looks like it should. I get so many compliments on my hair and it takes me way less time to get ready in the morning. And of course my hair still looks fabulous straightened as well.
I’ve recommended Berta to several of my friends, and they all love her too. I always look forward to my appointments because I know my hair is going to look awesome, and I have such a fun time chatting and catching up. She has an awesomely fun personality and I always end up laughing a lot in her chair. Fortunately she’s a total pro and doesn’t let my crazy head-​tossing laughter throw off her concentration.

It takes a lot to impress me. So much so that I’ve not been faithful to any stylist for more than a year because of my finickiness. Until I met Berta…
I’ve been a fan of Berta’s for 3 years and she’s never done me wrong. She’s incredibly skilled, quick, precise, innovative and not to mention funnier and smarter than sh*t.
Whenever I go to Berta, I am confident that I’ll walk out looking a hell of a lot hotter than I did walking in. The woman can cut. Period.

Berta is my hair guru. She has been making my hair gorgeous for a couple of years. and I can’t imagine going elsewhere. Her cuts are exactly what I ask for. I love the flexibility of my style. My hair has defined curls when I let it go curly, but it also lays beautifully when I decide to go straight. The style is classic, but not boring.
When I thought Berta was leaving for Atlanta, I got my hair cut elsewhere, and discovered that I had been ruined for all other stylists. The other cut wasn’t bad, but it just wasn’t a Berta cut. Thank God she never stopped cutting hair in LA.
Go to Berta. She’s super warm, talented and tons of fun.

I have been a loyal Berta customer for quite some time now. In the 4 years I have been in LA she is the only person I trust with my hair. She nails every cut, they always come out perfect! Have her try something daring on you, you won’t regret it!

I’ve had a hard time finding someone who could do my hair right. Roberta was the first one, then she moved away. So I went to another salon and tried 2 different people. It was ok, but it just didn’t have the vibrancy of Roberta’s styling.
I’m glad she’s finally back on a regular basis!
If you’re looking for someone who is creative yet skilled, then she’s your stylist. I need my hair to look somewhat decently professional, but I don’t want it at the expense of a little creativity and fun, which I like about this place.
Particularly, if you’re a would-​be hipster rock musician, she’s got just the thing for you. And if you’re not, that’s ok, too.

Berta is definatly great at hair :]. I saw her post about taking appointments on livejournal and asked if she was any good at bangs. Well let me tell you, she most definatly is!
She’s very friendly and sociable, it’s not even mundane small talk, rather I can get into a real conversation with her. On my first appointment I just remember having a conversation with her that lasted long after she finished cutting my hair.
I definatly (and have) reccomended her to a few people, and although it’s quite a bus ride (well two… long ones!) for me to get to her I’ll gladly take the trip anytime.
