Stopped here for lunch because of the Unilocal reviews. Tasty food and great service! They nailed the pulled pork sandwich and the fries were perfectly seasoned. I’ll come back!

Based on some pictures on Unilocal,I ordered the grilled vegetable salad and added a scoop of the chicken curry – absolutely delicious! The person I was with ordered the vegetarian burger and enjoyed it. I look forward to going back and trying a lot more from this place!(Small indoor seating.)

Pretty fresh spot on Santa Monica Blvd. Husband and I took a pit stop here while in the area. We ordered to go. Serving sizes were good at an affordable price! He ordered their tuna melt which was yummy! I ordered their cheeseburger. I enjoyed the sauce in it. Husband wasn’t that into it. Their fries were seasoned a bit on the salty side. I would love to try other items from their menu next time!

During my long trek home between San Luis Obipso and San Diego, I was starting to get hungry as we reached L.A., so used Unilocal to locate what was around and highly recommending. Wanting to avoid fast food, yet find something that was still fast and affordable, we came across Quicksand. The restaurant is located in the corner spot of a small strip mall, but has a welcoming and clean disposition. Upon entering, we quickly and easily located the hanging menu to be able to order at the counter. There were so many awesome choices, but considering that I was in L.A., I wanted something different than what I normally find in my area of San Diego. The turkey Bahn Mi-t-loaf was the perfect option. We sat down after grabbing some self serve water at a seat near the window. The interior décor is rather simple, but it gives you a nice view of the street. As we were waiting for our food, we noticed a steady stream of locals picking up to go orders. Once the sandwich arrived, it was warm and well assembled, which is essential for successful consumption. I found the Sriracha aioli to be a perfect compliment to the flavorful turkey meatloaf. Likewise, the side salad came with a good deal of crunch and a perfectly paired ginger dressing. Overall, I was very happy with the presentation, and the portion was perfect to satisfy for lunchtime. Despite eyeing the chocolate chip cookies, we did not dare eating any more knowing we would be stuck sitting in the car for another two hours. I would happily go back to this place. There is parking out front but it is largely reserved for 10 minutes, so street or underground parking is necessary if you are dining rather than picking up a takeaway order.

This place is a nice little restaurant. Nice for a quick and healthy bite. I ordered ahead and walked here go pick up my meal. I decided to try the veggie burger with the side salad. The veggie burger was really delicious, the salad tastes rather bland however. I wish I would have asked for a side of dressing to go with my salad, it tasted as if it needed something. Overall service was quick and friendly. There’s seating available within the restaurant if you want to eat your meal there. Private Parking lot available here too.

The most interesting sounding sandwich on their menu is the Turkey Banh MI-tloaf, which I got for lunch with an order of fries. The bread was topped with Banh-Mi-style ingredients(slaw, cucumbers) and a sauce(Sriracha aioli) were really tasty. The meatloaf was supposedly«far East-inspired,» but it tasted like normal American meatloaf to me, but in two sandwich-width patties. It was a bit off that the meatloaf wasn’t rolled into one ball or loaf. The size of the sandwich was good and the fries that came with it were good as well.

Gluten free options! We found this place in a Unilocal search for gluten free. It is a small restaurant in a strip mall with parking. There are both gluten and gluten free options. The sandwich I had was really tasty and the bread was good. I also got the tomato soup which was also gluten free. It was yummy. I recommend this place for gluten free eating.

It’s been a while since I left a lunch place completely satiated and content with my meal. No less would be expected from the same people who brought you the Nook. This place is chic, quick, and solid. Plenty of room inside, few tabled for outside seating, and enough parking for your whole posse. My sandwich was excellent! The Turkey Bahn-Mi-Tloaf hit all the right notes. The meatloaf itself was moist, and seasoned with a perfect amount of herbs and spices to excite your senses. A touch of heat from the Sriracha aioli and a nice cooling effect from the fresh slaw and pickles. As you take a bite through the soft ciabatta bread, all the flavors hit your pallet separately and then meld together for that perfect combination of sweet, salty, spicy, and oh so tasty. Luckily they have plenty of choices of hot and cold sandwiches, as well as salads to keep me coming back many times over. Perhaps I’ll see you there too.

I love the salmon sandwich, burger and fries. Many of the other menu items are also pretty decent but the sand outs are the salmon and burger. It offers very quick service and decent prices. Great spot for lunch. They also have their house chips which are yummy. And for those looking for healthy options there are soups and salads and again the salmon which is pretty outstanding each time. Only negative feedback sometimes the salmon is slightly undercooked and I have to ask that it be cooked a bit more thoroughly given that medium is my favorite cooking temperature. I think they should ask about the cooking temperature or provide medium as a default. Otherwise a decent lunch spot. Parking right in front of the restaurant available.

I love this spot. The turkey banh mi is hearty and delicious. It’s my favorite go-to sandwich. Their burger on brioche is also very delicious! Home made chips or fries, you really can’t go wrong!

I’m glad there are new healthy options in this neighborhood, Quicksand being one of them. The food was above average my veggie burger was flavorful and the salad was pretty good aside from the chemically-tasting pickled cucumber(tasted like the pickled ginger you get in crappy sushi full of preservatives. The soups I had tasted a bit funky. Tomato basil tasted like watered down Prego spaghetti sauce and the lentil soup had a slight funny taste. Both were not seasoned well, but at least it was low sodium. Ambiance was pretty clean, indoor seating only.

Great lunch spot! Shop fills up quickly at lunchtime on weekdays, so maybe go a tiny bit earlier. Easy parking with underground lot. Great service, decently priced. Checkin for a small dessert!

I found Quicksand on Unilocal while searching for a place for lunch. However, Quicksand is only open Monday through Friday, so you’ll have to look elsewhere for your weekend lunch cravings. This place is extremely close to my house and is located in a strip mall off of SaMo Blvd. and Amherst Ave. I would recommend placing your order online are just calling ahead to place your order, especially during peak lunch hours. The restaurant itself is small, but there is indoor and some outdoor seating. The food they serve up here is quite tasty, good quality, great portion sizes and the prices are just right. I don’t eat a lot of beef, so my go-to here is the avocado turkey burger and it is always moist, flavorful and downright delicious. So far the only thing I’ve ordered here that I would skip is the grilled chicken breast sandwich. If you’re looking for a new place to lunch or grab a quick bite, the food and friendly service here will not disappoint.

Stopped by for lunch after a meeting and was so happy to have found this spot. I ordered the salmon burger with fries — absolutely delicious! Portion size was large so I took some home to go as well. The owners & employees were all very helpful and gave service with a smile. Plus there’s a parking lot right underneath with free parking which is always nice! Next time I’m in Santa Monica I’ll have to hit them up again. A go-to westside lunch spot for sure!

Parking was convenient. There’s 10 minute spaces available street level and more free hourly parking underground. The venue is on the corner and very very well lit. So much that my friend and I needed sunglasses while we were dining. I ordered the fancy grilled cheese with avocado. It was topped with a strong parmesan cheese and grilled. I ended up pealing it off because it was a bit too powerful and overwhelmed the other ingredients. The onions and avocado were tasty but I probably wouldn’t order this again. The fries that came with were tasty and I laughed at the tiny portion of ketchup they came with. The staff accommodated my needs and gave me a couple more ketchup contaniers. I used the Unilocal checkin free dessert bite and tasted a brownie. Yikes. I didn’t like it. It was super sweet, gooey, fudge-like and had something in it that I couldnt recognize but didnt like. Guess I can’t complain too much since it was free. Overall, I see the appeal but the meal fell flat. I’d give it a 2 star rating but since the service was good and the venue was nice, I’ll give it a 3.

Well this was a cute little find. I got to my Chiropractor appointment early and thought I’d explore the area. I didn’t really see anything in this little strip mall except for a Pizza Hut(yuck, right?). I was about to cross the street when I ran across a big ‘Q’ in one of the storefronts. I was happy to catch a glimpse of the french fries in the window. I ordered their curry chicken salad on greens. WOW. I’ve never had curry chicken salad so good in my life. As I sat there enjoying this good stuff, other dishes came by – I caught a whiff and a glimpse and now I will need to be back!
