We came here After our first choice was out of the rotisserie chicken, chicken here is not bad, a little bland but ok. everything is served on Styrofoam everything making it feel more like a fast food joint. you order and pay then you get your food… our first choice has lower prices and a real sit down restaurant feeling… don’t see us coming back here … only soft drink option is canned soda at abiut $ 1.35 each.

Ever since my favorite rotisserie chicken spot closed in Lincoln Heights about a year ago, I’ve been trying to find a suitable replacement to meet my chicken needs. I have to say this is the closest I’ve gotten so far on my quest. So far I’ve stuck to the half chicken plate with rice, beans and salad and recently had the aguadito de pollo as well. The flavor of the meat and rice is really good and its big enough to share the half chicken plate(if you’re into that sort of thing. I like to have all the protein to myself). The aji sauce is very delicious and I would smother my chicken with it if I could. I am definitely becoming a regular of this place for sure. Next up to-try will be the lomo saltado. Details to come…

Only order the«Pollo a la brasa» — also the place is small.

Am I the only one that thinks their Lomo Saltado is much better than the famed Marios? Ironically I wasn’t as impressed by their chicken, but their Lomo was the best I’ve had in LA. The steak was more tender and flavorful than Marios and since everything is cooked right off the grill the swizzling flavors and fiery Aja sauce made this a flavor explosion in my mouth. Also the fries are crispy and the onions and veggies were fresh. Parking can be a bit of a drag but this is one of my favorite hole in the walls and a must try if you love Lomo Saltado.

I am African. I know food and seasoning. Trust my judgement. We had the mixed Lomo Saltado and WHAAAAAT a disappointment. This place is fast food Peruvian. Mario’s on Vine tastes wayyyy better and for a similar price. Not worth the parking struggle.

Delicious, simple, and to the point. No frilly nilly nonsense. Just tender, well seasoned meat and really solid sides. Ohhhhh that chicken is so on point.

Just finished picking up food. I heard all this fuzz from friends about the food being good and tasty. First the chicken in the saltado de pollo wasn’t fresh it was hard already and everything was kinda dry with not much flavor. the rice tasted couple days old. El pollo a LA braza was bland and the salad that came with it had canned beets which is just a lazy way of making a salad. I’ve worked in restaurants for more than 5 years and I’ve never been disappointed like this.

Chicken that simply made me want to say, «may I please have more?» Tender, juicy, full of smoky flavor from that wood fire. So cheap that you could have afforded it when you were a poor, struggling student. If you still are, get yourself to Pollos El Brasero!!!

I have driven by this place for 3 years. I’d see the wood burning rotisserie from the car and always say that I should stop by. That day was today! This is a Peruvian restaurant. The menu is various chicken plates and lomo saltado. I ordered a quarter chicken with salad, rice, beans, and two salsas: a red and an amazing aji verde. The chicken was moist with flavorful crispy skin. It has an amazing smoky flavor in addition to being wonderfully seasoned. It’s worth noting that the breast was moist and the wings were not burnt to a crisp. Not an easy thing to do, especially over wood coals! The rice is fragrant and almost buttery, though I didn’t detect actual butter. I’m half-Japanese. I always notice the rice ;) The aji was not hot. It’s zingy and perfect with the chicken. Not fancy. You are served on plastic plates. It’s all about the food here! I’ll be returning soon!

Came Across this Amazing Peruvian Restaurant from a recommendation of a Great Friend and totally enjoyed every bite of their Lomo Saltado:9 Despite of their amazing store presentation of mouth watering rotisserie chicken’s being grilled over the MEGA sized oven over seen by passengers walking by the cross-walk…I chose their Lomo instead. Definitely will go back for their chicken next time! because everybody in the store seemed to be eating it and the PLACEWASPACKED! with lines of people waiting to order.

I’ve never had a bad meal from here. If you’re familiar with the Peruvian restaurant El Pollo Inka in Gardena and Torrance this restaurant has the same type of selections. The rotisserie chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside(breast meat too). It’s a bit small and on the corner of Pico and Magnolia. It’s commonly referred to as Pico and Mag instead of its name. The street parking is limited. I work close by so a good place for lunch. Definitely a fast food feel.

The chicken here is fantastic, but I love the lomo saltado even more. (the beef is actually tender, unlike a lot of other places I have been to) The staff is always nice, and the food is fast, consistent, and delicious. Great for take-out too!

I love eating at this place. I usually get the quarter chicken with rice, salad and beans. The food is delicious and it’s less than $ 10. It also comes with a beverage can or bottled water. You definitely get bang for your buck here. I’ve tried the chicken soup there and it’s very flavorful. There’s not much seating inside, so you’re better off taking the food to go. Plus they don’t have A/C inside, so I wouldn’t eat inside with not much ventilation. You can park your car on Pico Blvd or park on the side streets, but just be careful because the area is pretty sketchy…

I came here because I saw a friend that reviewed this place having the best lomo saltado. Better than Marios and Inka. Uhhh. I’m sorry Farr, you’re trippin! Lol. This was by far, the worst lomo saltado I’ve ever ate. If you can even call it that. Whats with all these Peruvians places in LA that are so shady on their aji sauce?

I’m a big pollo ala brasa fan. This place is overhyped in my opinion. The Unilocalers giving this place high reviews obviously haven’t tried other Peruvian ala brasa locations. This taste like commercial ala brasa chicken. It doesn’t have the Peruvian authentic taste u can get at other places. I gave it three stars only cuz it’s eatable but not impressive. Never coming here again, besides average food, heighborhood is crazy also no parking. My advice, go and try other places. The one on western and 6th is not that far from here. If you do go, you’ll see what I’m talking about. I consider myself a pollo ala brasa expert. My daughters hot mom is from Peru so I’ve been eating brasa since 1986. When you try the real stuff, I’m pretty sure you won’t be back at this place again.

PEB is a no frills Peruvian spot. Go after 6pm for easy street parking. I usually order to go vs. dining in because of the parking situation. A whole wood fired chicken combo with all the sides(rice, salad, beans) costs a little over $ 20. This chicken is nice and juicy, not dried out like El Pollo Loco or Dino’s! Red salsa is mild. Green aji sauce is pretty spicy and not creamy as Mario’s. Will be back to try the lomo and chicken saltados and chaufas!

Let’s compare to Pollo a la Brasa(PALB), because POLLOS el Brasero(PEB) is seriously a hidden gem worth«risking your life»(Bernadette’s review) and dreaming while waiting for a parking spot. Chicken — flavor profile is extremely similar, but seems seasoned for a longer period of time, so the flavors are deep into the meat, not just the skin. It’s probably because they don’t sell as quickly as PALB. TIE between the two Rice — the rice is buttered just like PALB. However, it’s more oily. But flavor is spot on and they give you more portion in the combo. +1PALB Fries — they cut the fries in-house. You can’t beat that. +1PEB Salad — they give you a salad dressed in a light dressing that seems very refreshing. However, the whole slice of tomato and two giant beet were not as easily edible than PALB’s salad. +1PALB Aji sauce — both have kick to them, PALB seems to have a smoother finish, while PEB is more crisp. TIE Beans — Both are pretty plain, but PEB gives you this additional salsa that if you mix it with the beans it’s pretty damn good. +1PEB PEB has lomo and pollo saltado, along with the beef fried rice. +1PEB Price — Similar. TIE Parking — both suck. TIE Both establishments cook over wood fire. But PALB is already well known, established, so I say support this location when you are nearby!!! All in all, they are both fine restaurants, but on different ends of town. I really hope Pollos El Brasero is here for the long run!!! Food is legit.

Came in with my coworkers for lunch, this is a small«hole in the wall» looking place, so don’t bring a large group. I had the aguadito de pollo, basically Peruvian chicken soup, it was warm and comforting with pieces of potato, carrot, and rice. There was a whole chicken leg in the broth, it was tender and juicy. Their aji(green sauce) was pretty spicy, a little goes a long way! They have tortillas on the menu, so I decided to get some to soak up my soup. My Peruvian friend reminded me that they don’t eat tortillas in Peru, but oh well, I wanted them! I’d like to go back and try the lomo saltado!
