been to this restaurant many times while back. didn’t know name changed and went with few of the buddies. food is ok but the price was kinda high compare to the food. I don’t mind going but not sure that it will be often.

Dont even deserve a star. We ordered a beef and chicken fried rice. The server gave us with shrimp. she was about to refuse to change our food until we told her our friend was allergic to shrimp. Bad service. Not coming back again. Foods looked dried. So unsatisfying.

I’ve been here maybe, 5 times. I can’t remember too much. I must have been drunk. I think I had the oxtail phở.

Phở Western is the next-best-thing after Phở 4000 closes. The House Special Combo has tender chunks of brisket, with smaller bits of tendon and tripe. In fact, this is one place where I really like the tendon. Although it is slightly chewy and flavorless at first, it leaves a layer of melting fat on your tongue that is quite pleasant. The meatballs are heavily spiced with pepper, a welcome change from the usual bland meatballs. In the seafood combo, the ingredients are immersed in a crystal-clear, clean-tasting broth. The shrimp is fresh, and the fish balls are light and delicate, like matzoh balls

lololol oh man, didn’t realize everyone hates this place. Phở is as tasty as ever. Service has not changed. It’s not the greatest, it ain’t the worst. I always seem to come here on slow days and food always comes out quick. Broth here is more flavorful than Phở 4000 across the street.

So, where is my go-to phở spot, and what have you done with it?! Dead and gone — replaced by this place, which should also be dead and gone. Let’s review, shall we? FOOD: Bland. I’ve only ordered the phở here as long as I’ve known this place, and it’s been consistently flavorful until now. The broth seemed watered down. A lot. I try to avoid adding Sriracha and hoisin sauce to the broth itself and try to enjoy it for its purity. When I gave up on phở after slurping up half of it, I looked down to see that I put everything imaginable in it hoping to override its blandness — Sriracha, hoisin sauce, onions, dead hookers, lime, cilantro, bean sprouts, and peppers. It needed flavor! It may have just been my paranoia at this point, but I think Sriracha was even watered down. SERVICE: Confusing. The owner/cashier/server/SA had a tough time running the entire show. Our sodas and water didn’t arrive until after we had started slurping down some phở. The appetizer order of spring rolls arrived as dessert. The smoothie order(placed initially) didn’t arrive until the check came. It wasn’t so much that the food came out later than expected, it was the shock and awe of the chick running the place. I could see the sodas and water sitting on the counter for about ten minutes. When I asked about the smoothie, she looked dumbfounded and still couldn’t get it right until the very end. RACISM: Plenty. Me and V(non-Korean) were seated and informed that we could help ourselves to get all the accoutrements(shout out to Scotty M.) that we wanted from the«island.» It was self-service for onions, bean sprouts, cilantro, and a few other items. As a lazy person, definitely not a fan of this self-service noise… but whatever. An older Korean lady and her daughter walk in and the daughter remarks how there’s so many non-Koreans in there(in a derogatory manner). That’s tasteless, child and wanted them to know I thought so. I stare down the mom… she stares right back at me… I back down(typical of me) so I stare down her daughter(in a non-creepy way), but gave up after awhile(okay, daughter beat me too).(Ruthless vatos)
Other than the fact that Korean chicks are good at staring competitions, the server lady brought over a plate of onions, beans sprouts, cilantro, and lime from the kitchen and didn’t have to deal with the island of communal accoutrements. What’s up with THAT preferential treatment? It looked like anyone that was non-Korean had to take a trip to island for their fixings. I hope there’s a misunderstanding. I won’t be coming back anymore. Quality has crashed through the floor. dmo out.

Mistook this place for phở 2000 down the street… what a terrible mistake it was. The place felt grimy. Service was good(hence the two stars). The lone woman manning all of the tables was attentive towards us and the table behind us. Ordered rare steak phở, which was fine while I was eating it. The fun started later when the massive amounts of MSG caught up to me. Bloating and lingering MSG taste galore. Will not be returning.

The prices went up again and the quality hasn’t improved! This time I thought I’d go a different route and order a banh mi sandwich. There was too much bread and not enough meat. It was only $ 4.50 but I’ve found better places for the same price or cheaper.

I would probably avoid Phở Western if it all possible. The taste was lackluster and nothing in my bowl seemed ATALL fresh. It’s also kind of dirty inside. I was kind of hungover the day I ate phở here alone in the restaurant, so I awkwardly finished all my food anyway. I am still going to entertain Phở Western as an option for late nights in which I am very intoxicated, seeing as they are always open ‘n stuff. For times that work/society require me to not be wasted — there are better options… like Phở 4000 across the street… just sayin’.

Came here drunk on a Saturday night so my judgement might be a bit cloudy but this place satisfied my drunchies! We got here around 3 or 4AM and it was still opened, so definitely one star for that! Was in the mood for something soup-y so me and my friend spit a bowl of Phở(I don’t even know which one we ordered. but I’m guessing it was the combo? lol) The service was really fast and we got our food in no time. Finished in no time too! I didn’t feel disgusted by the soup, so I guess it was good. Honestly though, in my drunken state anything would have been pretty good. So come here the next time you’re drunk in ktown, I’m sure you’d feel the same way. ^__^ And I’m sure many others around the area feels the same way because as we got up to leave, we saw a couple of other groups from the same bar stumbling in after us. Four stars for being opened late and catering to drunkards needs. Kudos to you Phở Western!

Soooo disgusting. I’m sorry. I know some of you hate how Unilocal can ruin a business, but you need to run a clean, fresh, quality restaurant. Some of you are just asking for it. I’ve been to mom n’ pops, but this gives a whole new meaning to mom n’ pop. The interior feels dirty. They leave the smelly cart next to your table full of other people’s dirty dishes and uneaten food. I was about to tell them to move it, but the old woman came by and cleared a table that was left dirty since when we walked in. Chow fun? Not fun. It looked like it was swimming in a watery base. Flavor was bad. Spring roll? Uhh, more like maybe as fresh as last Winter roll. Right away you notice the vegetables are not fresh. Then they just throw a shrimp in it, which I’m pretty sure still had the poop in it. The peanut sauce was bad. Tasted like peanut butter watered down. The Super Bowl Phở. I like fish balls(that sounds wrong), but these tasted off. I didn’t chance eating the shrimp in it. The vegetables are not fresh. You can tell they sliced the jalapenos awhile ago as they started to look dried out. Greens and sprouts just a little wilty. Bleh! Ooh and the 2 lime slices! You can squeeze that shit as hard as you can and until you’re red in the face, but you are not getting a drop of juice out of those pre-cut old things. I didn’t finish it because the whole experience just reeked of you’re-going-to-be-sick-in-a-minute. Flies in there. Right down to the little scraggly mouse looking dog that kept running inside the restaurant and the security guy and woman kept coming in to retrieve him. I wasted a meal and that is not okay with me. If you honestly gave this place more than 1 star I may never trust another review you write. Parking: Who cares.

Not too shabby, Phở Western! I came here at 3am expecting the worst, but I was pleasantly surprised by the house special #1. A small bowl was $ 7.25, which is about a dollar more expensive than other phở restaurants I frequent, but since this place is open 24 hours I won’t complain :) The summer roll(spring rolls) were decent but not the best I’ve had. Still, I will most def return for my late night phở fix! Notes: +Service is relatively fast. +Bathroom is kept clean. +Parking: no problem(at least at 3am).

Sorry Western Phở, but you have seriously gone DOWNhill… The broth was just way too watery. Where’s the flavor? For $ 7.95, it’s pricey compared to other places too. Will I be back? Me thinx NOT!!!

24HOURPHO!!! I believe that is all I have to say. little bit more information: Parking: Parking lot is really small. I got lucky and got a parking spot, but if you’re not lucky, then you have to street park. Interior décor: nothing really impressive. Just a restaurant with tables, chairs, pictures, and menus. Food: I ordered the #1 House Special. I thought it was good. I especially loved the fact that it had meatballs in them! You don’t normally come across a place that puts meatballs in their #1. The phở soup tested healthier. The place is owned by Korean people, so the phở did taste less oily, which I liked. The price is average. ~$ 5. They give you also a plate of onions right away without you asking, which is another plus! Service: The service wasn’t that bad for the amount of people that was in the place. There were actually a lot of people and the waiters accommodated our needs. Overall, I liked it especially since it was a 24 hour phở place!

This place is cash only. I believe they have the best spring rolls and peanut dipping sauce. One more advantage is that they’re open 24 hours. Great for hanging out when everyone is sound asleep.

After eating at Golden Deli, I just have better expectations of Phở. I’m a spoiled brat about my quality of soup base and meat. Western Phở has really slacked off on the quantity of meat. I may have had 4 slices at most of the rare steak. They only offer the combo(ligaments, rare steak, and tendons), rare steak, or chicken. What happened to the mixed cooked brisket and rare steak? The broth isn’t the greatest either… Just no «umph» in it. I have to say, their fried rice is really good. I don’t know what kind of crack they use in it(MSG + Heroine), but it’s crispy and has tons of flavor. The only plus is that they are open 24hrs for your eating pleasure. So if you crave Phở at 5am, they will be waiting for you.

Service was fast, had no troubles with parking. Get the spicy fried chicken(#22 I think) which is in a honey semi-spicy sauce. Very good. I got the #1 and the broth was lacking flavor but it was loaded with meats. I’ve definitely had better but no complaints here either. Loaded with sriracha and hoisin sauce, most phở pretty much taste the same to me. Super cheap which is cool.

I’ve always heard about Korean-owned Phở restaurants in K town, but never felt compelled to try it because I live in SGV. Yes, I’m Korean and proud of my heritage, but there is NO way we can do phở better than the Vietnamese. uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I was wrong… the phở here totally ROCKED. After after a late night drinking, a group of us were craving for some soupy phở. To my disbelief, this place was PACKED at 2:30am. Every table was taken! Phở really does hit the spot after drinking! It fixes everything: D haha A bunch of us ordered the phở($ 7.95) and shared because the portions were HUGE. The ladies are super nice about giving you extra bowls and extra soup!!! We also ordered the«Summer rolls»($ 4.25) which is just 2 shrimp spring rolls. They were good, nothing special. Finally, we ordered the chicken fried rice($ 8.75). Let me just say, hands down one of the BEST fried rice I’ve EVER had!!! I can’t quite put my finger on why it was so delicious, but the rice was chewy, well seasoned, lots of seasame oil, meat, fluffy eggs. SOSOSOSOGOOD! MUSTTRY!!! Some perks — korean owned so you get kimchi on the side!(woot!) As well as the usual suspects: onion slices, basil, cilanto, sprouts, lime, etc. Again, the portions are HUGE. And the place is open 24 hours. Why the –1 star? $ 8 for a bowl of phở? Are you kidding me? OK the portions are big, but thats just wrong!!! and the parking is NOBUENO.(I guess that just comes with Ktown). Either way I’m super impressed! Would go back anytime!
